@@traxrc just thought I’d give a nice input to what I did to my 4x4 to make it more of a “track” truck. I’m needing to get my rc channel started up. I have so much track, bashing and water skipping footage it’s ridiculous.
The case can still flex, messing up the gear mesh and stripping the gears. Kinda pointless if ya ask me. Plus the electronics in the stock servo aren't the most reliable either.
Only happened to us a few times. It is more common on the Slash 4x4 and Stampede 4x4 as they weigh more. It is mainly a preventive upgrade to us, but a needed upgrade for many.
It's funny he makes it sound like it's absolute garbage stock. I've drove mine for 2 years straight, and I have a track at my house so I drive it probably 15 hours a week with no brakes except server
@@traxrc yes its easier to use. But u also have no tsm if you have the brushed model, But if someone was good with brushless and good with brushed the brushless would win everytime.
I personally think tires, shock caps and shock shafts, I prefer to run 2s less things going wrong all round haha. Also those progressive springs suck imo. I see your slash still has the plastic tie links edit Oh only rear mever mind. Good video.
2S is a lot easier on components that's for sure. I still breaks driveshafts on 2S so that's why I included it in the video. I hate the progressive springs too. They are way to soft! I don't even know how I havent broken a rear plastic link on thos RC, but this RC was broken down and used for parts to get my more upgraded, red themed Slash up and running.
Those ez-peak chargers really aren’t the greatest, other branded batteries are not able to be charged, traxxas batteries are really meant for it and Gens ACE and other companies make higher quality batteries for less and they sometimes are better then traxxas
Honest opinion. If u run this car on 2s mostly on training and on sport mode sometimes for fun , avoiding crazy jumps or worthless bashing , it will last and the stock comoonents will survive. Adding 3s and pinion gear for speed running this car full throttle on sport mode on every crazy terrain u will get broke. All these components are not essential except probably esc fan.
While I agree with you, I also think that driving in training mode is the most boring thing you can do. For me, I'd rather break a few parts on high power than drive slow all of the time lol.
You are taking all the fun out by not running in normal mode and not doing any extreme bashing it is awesome and I don't break anything now with the experience of running them
Spending 45 seconds of your video begging for subscribers does the opposite of what your hoping bro! I really wanted to watch this video, as I own 3 of these and am now ready to upgrade them (I broke one front end! LOL) I watch this one channel titled "That Chapter" and he never begs/asks his viewers to "Click, like, subscribe, etc." and I was happy to subscribe because it's a quality channel (which yours looks to be as well). He now has 1.59M subscribers, and a constant theme I notice is people saying how refreshing it is not to be asked over and over for viewers to subscribe. (If you watch one of his videos you'll see, there is nothing glitzy, or flashy, just him talking and presenting his info for the viewers. Please don't think I'm bashing on you, because I'm not. But I'm pretty sure you wouldn't mind 1.6 million subs am I right? LOL Anyway, congrats on your channel, and it's growth. I've changed my mind and will watch it, as the info sounds valuable. I bash. Better shock oil kills the roll over effect. The stock oil to soft a ride so it rolls. Happy bashing. In the new year. And yes I run badlands. . 😆
Get the esc fan of the list and put in a decent hobbywing system or so. The vxl system is overpriced and crap and gets hot in 2 hard passes on grass. The hobbywing esc won't even get warm in 20 minutes of hard bashing.
Personally, I like the VXL system. If I were to do it again I'd get Hobbywing, just to try it because I hear that it is better than the VXL. But, I don't hate the VXL system. It has plenty of power and it won't get hot under the right gearing. I can run 3S packs back to back in my VXL equipped cars without an issue.
@@traxrc with the hobbywing system it will have way more punch and a lot more speed. Esc stays dead cold motor gets warm when you run the shit out of it

@@traxrc that is a great perspective to have and I wish more content creators did. If I could suggest one idea for a video, I see you have a lot of recent videos about both Arrma and Traxxas cars. I recently got back into RC stuff and it would be nice to hear about your thoughts about each brand and how they compare, or specific vehicles like the Slash vs Senton. I bought a Slash to go with my Losi SCT but I'm wondering if I should add something from the Arrma lineup, and which is best for what. For example the Slash was easier to drive out of the box but the Losi is waaaay faster around the track, and I am wondering how Arrma compares in the mix. Just a thought, maybe you've already done something that I missed. Anyway best of luck in the future and I'll be watching for more content, maybe check out your other channel too as if you're into the RC scale stuff, seems like there's a lot of overlap with performance cars.
I’d like to do something like that where I compare Arrma and Traxxas. I need more experience with Arrma though because Traxxas has been my main brand for 8 years, and I got my first Arrma 2 months ago.

Never owned a Bandit, but it is basically a Slash. Ik that the tires wear down fast so maybe that is something to look into!
Just put metal parts in the stock servo I did
The case can still flex, messing up the gear mesh and stripping the gears. Kinda pointless if ya ask me. Plus the electronics in the stock servo aren't the most reliable either.
Don't have no problems with mine and being running on mine for 2 years and still going strong and I bash the heck out of mine
Where can I get that battery hold down used in upgraded LCG Chassis 5) 5:28
It is made by STRC. Here is the link amzn.to/3BNRziS
Thanks
Glad to help!
The phone audio was kinda better
My shock caps have never ever ever popped off. I bash the shit out of it too.
Only happened to us a few times. It is more common on the Slash 4x4 and Stampede 4x4 as they weigh more. It is mainly a preventive upgrade to us, but a needed upgrade for many.
He who dies with the most WD40 wins! 😋
It’s true🤷♂️ and I’m gonna win😂
Does your motor get hot fast on 19pin and 86spur?
With that gearing you should be fine. Ours gets hot on 23t pinion and 86 spur. We like to run 21/90 most of the time on our Slash 2wd VXL's
@@traxrc for some reason on traxxas 3s it got hot fast and I got 4 mins of runtime without it getting hot
Hmm weird... what size tires are you running??
@@traxrc stock
It's on my profile pick
he saw 5k views and said: "It just absolutely blew up"
Meanwhile this one with 100k...
The other one is at 95k views now😂
It's funny he makes it sound like it's absolute garbage stock. I've drove mine for 2 years straight, and I have a track at my house so I drive it probably 15 hours a week with no brakes except server
Do you have a brushed or brushless Slash?
@@traxrc brushless. No point in getting a brushed. I feel like brushed is meant for little kids
For a Slash 2wd, I think brush handles better bc it has less wheel spin.
@@traxrc yes its easier to use. But u also have no tsm if you have the brushed model, But if someone was good with brushless and good with brushed the brushless would win everytime.
Ya I dont have TSM with my brushless setup because I converted it from brushed to brushless
The Traxxas stuff is really good for beginners, and we charge our other branded batteries on it all of the time. Never had an issue doing it.
@@traxrc what batteries are they
Any LiPo really. We have Floureon, which you can't find anymore, Povway, Gens Ace, Venom, etc.
You are taking all the fun out by not running in normal mode and not doing any extreme bashing it is awesome and I don't break anything now with the experience of running them
700 subscribers look at yall 5k
It’s been a journey!
(which is all we as viewers want truthfully!) Cheers bro!
Yeah I don’t do that anymore. This is an older video and I’ve changed my ways of making videos. If I mention anything now I keep it very short.
Cool! Well thanks for sharing your wisdom and tips with us! I can't tell you how much it helps us, not to mention the money you probably save us in mistakes we'd likely make trying to just trying to go it alone without your visual help and guidance. 😉
That’s exactly why I made this video!
Yea, just buy the salsh get the motor and throw the rest and then buy again all the parts. ..
That's one way to do it 🤣
I just replaced the whole shock metal shocks aluminum
Not a bad upgrade, but if you buy the cheap ones they don’t last
Traxxas is making a killing off so called upgrade parts that should already come stock since they know they’re weak.
Ya some upgrade parts should be stock
I don't mind Traxxas, and I'll still buy their stuff in the future, but they arent my first choice anymore.
RPM parts are the best
Help me get one even if it's unemployed
If ur saying for me to get you a slash because ur unemployed, then absolutely not. Get off the couch and get a job yourself and work for what you have.
Lol he said it looks like a Fat Pig
Wow 21 pinion you Shure 19 is the highest recommended with 54 spur on 3 s we run the 16 on on 3 s on 54 spur the 19 only for short speed runs on street only .or you will over heat speed control and buy buy warnties .now up grade speed controler ok but still buy buy warrenties we run 2 s 19 pin with 54 spur most of the time with 6000 mil bat to keep 40 off road and 20 min run time.whats the diff good speed no broken stock drive shafts great jumps only broke 4 parts 2 bodies an arm now rpm and shock caps alum now and are temps cool with or without fan .when in water fans not water proof. lower body great for racing bad for off road bashing. I bash. Better shock oil kills the roll over effect. The stock oil to soft a ride so it rolls. Happy bashing. In the new year. And yes I run badlands. . 😆
We run a 21T pinion with a 90T spur usually. No issues. The 54T spur we dont even own.
What is the part number for the 90t spur gear... please
Traxxas part #3956
Thank you... gonna try this gearing here in Arizona... cause everything gets super hot... lol
I'm so sorry I realized I just gave you the wrong part number! I hope i didn't mess anything up for you! The part you need is 4690
pov u live in norway: hahahhahahha ecs fan nahh gearing more fast pro yes
Esc stays dead cold motor gets warm when you run the shit out of it
What hobby wing set up..

Way too much youtube like comment subscribe bullshit before the video content. If you must please add that after enough content to even know if we want to subscribe.
Thanks for the opinion but if you watch my recent videos you would know I don’t do this anymore.
@@traxrc that's fair, and I do understand why creators do this, RUclips created a system that's hostile to both viewers and creators alike. I did watch the rest of the video and ordered some of the parts through the links you left and found the content helpful. Apologies for the salt in my response; it's the platform I'm fed up with. Thanks for your classy response, I just subscribed.
Thank you a lot bro! It does mean a lot that so many people found this video useful. Never would have thought that sharing my experience would have helped so many. This was also made when I was trying to just push out content as much as possible, not really thinking about what I’m posting. Interestingly enough, I rarely watch RC content on RUclips. I watch automotive type stuff like you would find on my other channel. I’ve come to the realization that if it isn’t something I would watch, I’m not going to post it, or include it in the video.
2:20 Stops begging for likes and subs...
Not begging just wanting to grow so I can make more videos!
Brooooo just get to the point to much talking
I’ve gotten better at that! This is an old video
Your a bit obnoxious w/ the begging Bro, there's only so much talking & begging people to join your channel before people click off & go elsewhere. you might want to re-think your commentary. The video mentions upgrades & for the first 5 minutes a it's begging & other nonsense
First of all, this is an old video and my style has changed. Watch my recent videos. They are better. Also, I just hit a milestone around the time this video was posted, so I was hyped and grateful. I wanted to share that with my viewers.
do those servos fit the bolt holes
Yep!
Will the m6 driveshafts work on a 2wd?
Yes, they sell a set specifically for the 2wd.
