I'm not sure I'd be describing ester profiles as "earthy." They are more associated with fruity characteristics. I find it sad that you say English IPA's as having "not too many flavour notes" and "single dimensional." While being very different and not as vibrant from new world hops, the traditional UK hops can have a very different yet great earthy, spicy, herbal characteristics. It probably means you haven't tried good fresh examples. Umm, might need to work on your brettanomyces pronunciation. Brett is usually frowned upon and unwanted in the wine industry. Brett will give every different profile depending on if it is used as a primary fermentation medium or secondary, as well as how old it is.
I started bartending about a month and a half ago - this was very helpful, thank you!
Very informative, guys. I think I like East Coast-style more, but my taste is evolving every day.
New England is my favorite style, then American.
Amundsen brewery is probably my favorite brewery right now. Norwegian.
We're partial to New England style too!!
Great video going into the styles of IPA. My go to has been American IPA for the bitterness and pine flavor.
Love it thanks guys!
Thanks McKenzie!!
Long session of drinking beer. You ain’t kidding!
That one guy is a bit too far away from the mic. But this video was absolutely amazing! I loved it, great information.
Thanks for the feedback! We were confused until we went on a quest for information. Now we know! Cheers!
For some reason, I get the feeling the dude on the right wants to punch the guy on the left. Hard.
Is a juicy ipa just ipa with extra fruit purée?
Check out Vocation Brewery in the UK... these guys are the nuts!
I'm still trying to find a good, very citrusy IPA. I had one before, but I forgot what it was
