IPAs are bitter, bold, and everywhere but in a nation that had prohibition and a subsequent addiction to light lagers it can be tough to see how exactly that happened. That journey from obscure beer style to industry leader is something I want to retread in this video today, and as a bit of a hop head, I couldn’t be more excited.

Your so right about variety, I love trying a different craft beer every night with supper! My local brewery has a 9.5% DIPA thats almost dangerously drinkable 🍻

Just starting my IPA journey as I used to just drink lager 99% of the time.
Today I'm drinkning some Camden IPA it's pretty good!

Used cascade today on my first homebrew! We used cascade/centennial for bittering, finished with Idaho 7.
Bless IPAs. The perfect confluence of consumer preferences and manufacturing advantages. Did the industry build the style or did the style build the industry. Only Tolstoy knows for sure. Cheers
I don't really get IPA's. The don't taste good to me, yet they get their own section at my grocery store. There are a hundred "different" IPA's to choose, yet only one or two sours. And in the basic beer section, it's mostly Lagers. There barely any diversity. And the only joy to be had with the explosion of IPA's is the cool artwork they often display. It's a damn shame. I don't see why they dominate. Often, they're more expensive than other beers.

Far too many bars offer multiple IPAs on draft with few or none of every other style. No Lagers or Pilsners, but five varieties of IPA. Sometimes a customer just wants a real beer with a full flavor that's not overly hopped to cover for its flaws. And no, I don't mean Bud or Miller.
Funny how it's mentioned in the video IPA was the style trying to be different but now to be different you have to drink styles like sours or browns. Blame the tons of hops available but beer is always an ongoing experiment.
IPA's are meant to age, via hops preserve for travel. Its fun to age a few in a cellar for a few weeks or so.
Meh... the lecal Giant Eagle used to have the best selection of beer. Every style you can think of, no one's tastes were left out. Now, their selection is about like Wal-Mart. Meaning, if you like mass-produced beer and IPAs. Not exactly good if IPAs are down there with macro lagers on your least favorite styles.

what is the difference between American pale ale & American IPA
AIPA has more hops added and is more bitter than APA. "American" stands for type of hops (growned in US) and 'India' is for big dose.
