There are a lot of mics that sound pretty decent and some even come pretty close to the SM58 which is a sound we are all used to because any mic drawer you pull open has a bunch of them. Unless you are in a venue that has to much money and you open a drawer and you only see Neumann KMS 104/105 😲 A lot of mics struggle with the handling noise. Which is no problem in a mic arm/ stand of course, but on stage it is a big problem. Again you can see it here.... good mic, until you test the handling noise. I would not give this to someone on stage who has it in their hands.
I would put in in a stand for a guitarist/ bassist who do background vocals and leaving it in the stand. Then I see to things happening. I will bee a feedback fest, or... the higher feqs help with a nice background vocal sound.

hello there so one of your videos where you briefly talked about the motive video app.
I have the Scarlet Solo audio interface and an SM58. when I tried recording on the app I couldn't find any way in order to change the recording from stereo to mono so that the microphone recording is able to be heard in both left and right channels respectively.
is there a secret button that I am not able to find? I apologize if the solution is very simple, I am blind.

That's what [he] said. Little bit of excess 8-10 kHz, a different character in the midbass. Not bad, but too much handling noise for what is obviously meant to be a hand-held mic. My vote is definitely for the 58. The fact that I've used 58's and 57's for nearly 50 years has NOTHING to do with my vote, I assure you.
