I got this, literally got it for 60usd here in Asia. For the price (and lack of availability of other options at the price point), I'd say this is a win. Thanks for the review and honest opinion on it!

I ended up buying three Q2Us for my needs, and the money I saved alone allowed me to upgrade my audio mixer to a Rodecaster Pro. That and I do occasionally need to move around my place so the handheld ergonomics of the Q2U was an absolute boon. I don't think I will ever move past the Q2U - it does everything I need and my usual audience and opponents have been nothing but complimentary of my improved audio since moving to it.

Q2U still is my winner of these two, but honestly, if you're looking for a flashier looking mic that is comparable, this is a great choice. My Q2U is going through my Wave XLR and has the Reaper plugins enabled. It sounds fantastic and honestly, the fact people think I'm using a more expensive mic, truly is a testament to how well the Q2U stands up at that price point. Great video. Love seeing the Q2U get the love it truly deserves.

I love the Q2U because I payed 40$ for a silver one from B&H and it's does everything you'd expect from a higher end microphone! USB, XLR, doesn't pick up background noise, and a headphone jack. I've never been one to plug headphones into a microphone to listen to myself, but honestly my announciation has gotten so much better on top of practicing commentating. I use it while playing games and listening to music from my Alexa directly behind my microphone and it doesn't pick up a thing! I use it over USB and I do notice the typical USB "buzz" but it's nothing 98% of people will ever hear and once you edit it, it's gone. I even tried using it with a Fet Head and a Creative K3+ and WOAH it sounded REALLY good..... but at that point, that's a whole 100$+ interface + 80$ Fett Head. But It works and it works well. Ended up just going back to pure USB since it still sounded so good and kept my desk clear! I know how good XLR microphones are, I've owned SOOOSO Many. But I still kinda wish i would've just stuck to a Q2U since back then xD because all these new microphones are very gimmicky in my opinion! RGB is cool , but I feel like lights in general make people think "I need this" and thought goes out the window hahahah

I have owned a k658 since the beginning of sales, and I can say that it has nothing to do with a dynamic microphone. It just as easily captures outside noise from the street or the next room, even at 1/3 gain..

really appreciate the attention to detail in your reviews! i honestly find it kind of sad though that no company has been able to surpass your originally recommended mic for < $100. that older mic still had a more crisp sound and managed to have less issues with pronunciations of p's or t's. if it aint broke, dont fix it, i guess lol

Bought this microphone about three months ago on a whim, mainly because of the price. Floored by the sound quality at sub-$100. It's hardly perfect - a bit muddy, and the plosive problem is pretty noticeable - but it's a real contender on a budget.
I've even convinced buddies to abandon their plans of shelling out for an SM7B or BEACN Mic with the K658 - and IMO, that's a win in and of itself!

Swapped the windshield thing out with the one from my sm7b and trust me it helps a lot! If you’re on a budget this has tons of potential once you fine tune it.
..also hooked it to my goxlr with the head phone jack and it honestly isn’t bad. 💪

I have the Q2U and I think people should get the Q2U for the XLR output. Being limited to the usb/3.5mm jack would suck down the line. I would only give the fifine to children or people who just want a microphone and don't really care about the other stuff

(slightly off topic) Odd question, but have you considered doing something about used microphones on the market? Might be helpful for other people who are willing to try used gear out; I ended up with an AKG C3000 with a Behringer UM2 for less than 85€ and I'd consider it rather solid.
(on topic) RGB being a selling point for companies is silly to me, but this mic isn't bad for what it's worth (just listening via YT compression), although haven't checked what it costs in Europe. Nice video!
