As a carpenter running his own business, I love to see this!! For anyone in the comments telling you what you did wrong or how they would have done it. (Fuck em) most people won't even put down the RUclips app to try something like this. Let alone by themselves. And you hand making the trusses! (Well done sir) but I wish there was more like you in the world. Congrats man
Damn Jesse, I think I need to hire you as my full time hype man! thanks for the kind words. Consider subscribing, I'm putting the final touches on a bad ass handtool workbench that you'll probably appreciate, it'll be my next youtube video

I've been a builder for many years and have seen quite a fair bit of sheds. The plans in ryan's package ruclips.net/user/postUgkxB7IXYxLzb_Ichhe45zM3Im5xfEiSp9vB have some of the nicest looking sheds i've seen in a while.

@@KeimpieceCarpentry great job! My goodness thats impressive. How did you acquire all these skills?
@@GoodDealBUILDER thanks for watching! I wouldn't say construction jobs like this require skill, more so just knowledge with a little experience. Along with the willingness to sweat. Because at the end of the day all it is, is measuring, cutting, nailing, and screwing. Throw a little paint on it and you're done. RUclips is a great resource to learn, that's primarily where I gain my knowledge on certain subjects, then you just need to go do it.
@@KeimpieceCarpentry Nice! I certainly have a little experience. I have a 12x24 build coming up too. Its tempting to try and do it solo after watching this to save a few $1,000. Roughly how long did this take you?
@@brokenstring21 It's hard to say, I have a day job so there were many times where I'd only get a few hours of work in it before the sun starting going down. There was a long delay between part one and part two as well. If I was to do it again and had someone to help me we could probably knock it out in a week. For me doing it alone and working a day job it took quite a bit longer.
In a few years you can use the "I love me" side to store your riding mower! Great work!
thanks for watching, let me know what you think of my other videos
Dude is a beast !!! But it was the dog who made sure no corners where cut

Beautiful, clean, awesome work! You are inspiring me to build a shed!
thank for watching, let me know what you think of my other videos
I remember when I had power put in, I had an electrician drop in a 50 amp subpanel outdoors and ran a 30 amp feed off of that to the shed, its works fine.... I have BOTH AC (window type) and Heating! (5KW furnace) love having power in the shed, even had room for a 7 CF chest freezer! love it!
that sounds awesome John. I debated doing a sub panel but saved some money by just running two 20amp lines out there. My cnc and lasers have their own circuit, then lights and everything else are on the other.
When you did the tour I was like wow it's not that big inside, didn't realize it was partitioned. Nice build 👌
lol yea I split it in half. The wall is temporary in the middle, if I ever wanted to I can just unscrew it and remove it, but so far it's been working great. I love having my cnc and lasers in there that can run while I work on other projects in my garage shop without having to hear the cnc or get my eyes burnt out with laser beams! Thanks for watching. check out my Gazebeo video and others.
@@KeimpieceCarpentry I already watched it. That thing is a beast. Can't believe how you basically did it by yourself. What was the lift assist thing you was using called? I thought it was a sheet rock lift but I don't know if they could carry that weight. That is a beautiful piece of work.
@@bethschuler463 Thanks Beth. Yea it was an intense project. Doing stuff like this alone makes it 10x harder. The lift is called a "beam lift" or "duct lift". They are typically used for lifting AC units into attics during new construction.
@@KeimpieceCarpentry awesome. Thank you for that information. Can't wait for your next project. Have a good day.

Great job on the shed ... one tip
Be considerate of others when you're spraying paint..... overspray is a thing and can be carried by the wind on windy days @ 3:50 that spray is going over your fence.
Thanks for the tip
superb!!
Thanks for watching Andrew!
Great idea putting in the ventilation that way 👏
Thanks!
I would have done the vent near the bottom of the shed since there's no drywall to prevent the airflow from entering from the lower height, if there is no snow ofc

Video request: you should do a shop tour video. I’m looking for ideas for how to organize and set up my shop more efficiently. I’ve been watching a bunch of shop tour videos to get ideas and would be interested in seeing how you organized your shed shop.
Hey Chris, not a bad idea. The shed is just used for the cnc, lasers, and extra wood storage. The garage is the real shop, that's where most of the work is done. If there's enough intersted I'd be happy to do a shop tour video.
Excellent job and great attention to detail 👏 👌

Great build. Love the idea with the cheapo box fans. I bought a cool oscillating wall fan from Blaines Farm and Fleet that I use in my office. Your shed is exactly what I'm looking for. It will be a fun end of summer build for me. My guess is about 80 to 120 hours.
If you have someone helping you it'll speed things up drastically. Don't wait too long though, take advantage of the long daylight hours. If you want a set of plans to go off of you can purchase mine by clicking on the link in the description. Let me know how the build goes.

Love the details you show. (Ep1 and 2)
Building a jig for the trusses, kickers to hold the wall when you raise it, leaving the bottom board on the door walls so they tilt up easy (then cutting it out), stringline for the gable, ground anchor etc.
Where I'm at I would have added tyvek for the snow/water, a metal roof to shed the snow, and insulation. Otherwise great work. Awesome to see you do it by yourself.
Thanks for the kind words Jacob. Yea, with a few modifications this could have been made into a small house lol. This is only the second shed I've ever built. My third will be even better!!!!

Oh,one more questioni, what tool was used to trim the panel in front of roof?

Love the build, hate what you did with it!
Thanks for the comment, what do you hate? How I used half for a gym and half for my wood shop extension?
The shed is nice and well built.
However, it’s only a few inches from the ground.
In my experience with my shed I learn that being at least 16” or more inch from the ground will make it last longer.
I good flood will reach the bottom of the floor board.
It has hardly no air circulation under the floor.
This well cause the wood to swell and create mold and what not.
Having the shed higher off the ground will make it easier to move should you have to, using a round post or pipe.
Please consider making them higher off the ground.
thanks for the comment, but 16 inches high plus the foundation framing that shed floor will be 2 feet off the ground, I would need 3 steps built just to get in the thing. No thanks. I'll take my chances on a flood
Great Part 1&2. Very inspiring to me. I have a suggestion, Can you introduce us to your CNC + Laser what it does an how you use it?
ThankYou.
Thanks for watching. I have a laser video already, go check it out.
Great video! It was calming to watch and makes me want to build one now. My question is- what was the name of that song playing around the 6-7 minute mark that was playing? I want it on my play list!

Great work man! How long did this project take you?
hard to say, I didn't track it. There was a lot of time in between part one and part two.
You could add few solar panels (PV).
Yes I certainly could
Very inspiring build - beautifully filmed - thanks! Is the floor here strong enough for a 1-car garage? Thanks again.
Thanks for watching. I wouldn't recommend parking a car on a plywood floor. if you plan on putting a car in it, I'd def do a concrete pad.
Awesome Video wonderful Build...... 1 thing though.. Why didn't you use pressure treated base/subframe and plywood decking?
Thanks for watching. The foundation is pressure treated.
i think i’m in love 😅
Thanks for watching, make sure you check out my other videos!
If you were to do it over again, would you still choose wood floor, vs concrete.
Yes, I would definitely do a wood floor. For my application I really don't need a concrete slab.
I have a few questions about the electrical inside and outside the shed. I question the trench for the electrical service for the shed.
I see a trench, but I did not see any electrical tape in the trench, or is buried at least a minimum National Electrical Code (NEC) depth with proper protection?
Inside the shed, I noticed some of the box’s wiring was not stapled properly or not being stapled at all before going into the box. They need to be stapled within a certain number of inches of the box.
This can change from state to state if the state regulations of the state are stricter than the NEC regulations.
I did see you were using the new connectors to connect the same color wires, and it looked like a nice job.
When you went to cut on and off the lights, the switch appeared not to be at the proper height.
The wiring across the top plate seems to be going through the bracket instead of being drilled through the roof rafters.
What caught my attention was how you were building the shed and it appeared to me that you were detailed oriented, but when it comes to the electrical inside of the shed, it was not properly done for the reasons I have mentioned above.
Thank you.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I didn't show too much of the electrical process just because I'm not an electrician and don't want people trying to replicate exactly how I did it. I read though the NEC and understand what's required by code, and also understand at the end of the day most of them don't matter in terms of safety. For example, the height of the switch, if the switch box was 34 inches or 36 inches from the base, would that 2 inch difference make it unsafe? Of course not. Good job paying attention and listing out all things you saw, hopefully viewers read your comment and are encouraged to look through the NEC and find the right answers to the requirements for themselves.
All you need is running water and plumbing so you can rent it lol
That's not a bad idea
cool video, ROCKIN' body
thanks Wesley
I'm building the same building but with 10ft walls this fall. And it's not going to be a shed... Golf Simulator!
Sounds awesome!
Hi, that’s a super nice shed that you build there. I do you suggest for winter season? I live in Quebec province and I wonder if I should add heater and some isolation kuz I would like to use the shed in winter time.
yes, you should definitely add insulation and a heater then.
I give it a pass...10/10. 😁
Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!
Love it! What was the cost of material for the structure itself. I definitely want to build a bigger shed.
About 6K. A list of materials is included in the build plans you can buy from my website. Just click on the link in the description
Awesome. How much would you charge someone only for the labor if they were to put all the materials?
No idea.
great build, looks awesome. wont ask material costs for the 38th time, lol. what is the blue/gray unit on the right side of door/ looks loike metered watering unit for hoses.
That's the control unit for my pool robot cleaner. Part of the reason I installed an exterior outlet there.
Very nice could you give me a break down of the materials used
There are plans available in the link in the video description with material list
Great job, do you have a price breakdown of the materials?
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, the plans in the link in the description include a list of materials
Does your shed require annual maintenance from the weather ? Do you have any condensation problem although I have noticed that you have a lot of air vents so hopefully that should be ok I think. Also are you planning to insulate the shed ..surely it must be getting cold inside in winter ?
No plans to insulate, no condensation problems. It's working out just fine as is for what I use it for. I'm in North Carolina so the heat and humidity is more of a problem then the cold.
I'm looking for such a siding boards in Poland but can't 😭. Can you link what is it? Hdf? BTW great job, inspiring 👍

Aah, I see. At first, I thought it's too big for a regular shed for having power/fans/filters, etc. ..and now, I can see why. You're using an All-purpose place: Work exercise, storage, wood equipment. Nice.
Thanks for watching!
thank you for sharing this! I just wondering, how long did it take you?
About a month for part one, and part two I chipped away at for quite some time. Takes a lot longer with only one person.
Great video. Can you tell me what paint colors you used?
thanks for watching. I don't recall man sorry. I grabbed a bunch of sample cards from lowes and tried to match the siding on my house as best I could.
Wow bro, That came out Bad AF! Awesome job. My brother and I built an 8x10 about 4 years ago just out of nowhere and is still holding up, no leaks or anything. No cement slab! But now we're thinking of building a a 10x20. Any reason why you didnt do a cement slab? Thats what were debating on right now. How much do you think you spent on yours, If you dont mind me asking. Again, Great job well done. 👏 👏👏
Thanks for the kind words. The main reason I didn't do a concrete slab is because I didn't want to spend 5k on it. I don't plan on being in this house forever so I wasn't willing to make that much of an investment. I have about 6k into the project so a slab would have almost doubled my construction cost. There are plans available in the descriptions if you and your brother want to work off of something to start with. They've worked forgetting permits approved in 3 states so far.
That floor will be rotten out in no time. Termites and ground moisture are the reason why they make it 18 inches off the ground. I'm a licensed Florida residential Contractor.
It's actually 18 inches. That's because they can make a vertical tunnel to attack the wood. www.srs.fs.usda.gov/pubs/misc/misc_hg064.pdf
You live in north Carolina which is a region that is heavily exposed to subterranean termites
I'm really not trying to give you a hard time it's just that this is supposed to be an educational video and you're also profiting from it via adsense revenue and selling your blueprints. So when you are doing something wrong it's going to be pointed out.
Also I don't think I've seen anyone call out the fact that the framing is white pine. You should use yellow pine if you are in the southern states like this gentleman. White pine is bug food absolutely garbage. It's half the weight for a reason.
While it looks like it's sitting directly on the ground from the one side, the other side is about 8 inches up, the entire bottom is a bed of gravel, there's no direct ground contact. But you're right, paying 5k to put it on a concrete slab would be better.
What is the outdoor unit you have hanging near the front of the shed that's plugged into the outdoor outlet?!?!
Is that some sort of air pump?!?
This is why it would have been nice if you would've done some sort of commentary on your video! Explaining things as you do a video tour would have been a lot easier than answering all these questions.
Thanks for watching. I believe what you're seeing is the power unit for my cool cleaner.
@@KeimpieceCarpentry Ok?!? So what the Hell is a cool cleaner???
