    ER has become an underrated show over the years. The Clooney years are on par with any of the top shows ever made. AMAZING SHOW!

      I watched the whole thing last year in about three months. I have been tempted to watch it again this year (minus a few of the later crappy seasons).

    for the er scene he recites , it was actually 1 of his many scenes that he had to do but this one was extremely hard at the time, it took 40 takes that day not just for him but eric to not crack up

    • @aliciaedmondson7641
      @aliciaedmondson7641 3 года назад +4

      Noah said that the scene with Benton going through the hospital showing him everything took 22 takes because Eriq kept messing up. So they would tease each other about "you got to do it with in 22 takes, no more than 22", So when it was Carter's turn to do a long monologue he was determined to get it in less takes than Eriq. And then he said it took him only 2 takes.

    Does he have like photographic memory? lol I mean he said that like word for word and like it was nothing to him, like he uses it everyday. Amazing, he was always my favorite and still is.

      He mixed up two monologues from two different episodes, which is why the clip there is shorter than his speech.

    amazing memory - either photographic or he rehearses regularly. Fun watching now as physician. Medicine truly has its own language - I'll translate (not verbatim) - guy has a vascular surgery (aortic femoral bypass - their's reduced flow in the aortic artery and so they sort of rearrange or add pipes to allow better blood flow) and then develops lower left quadrant pain would be in the lower left side of the abdomen - upon auscultation (listening to the lungs) - reduced breath sounds on the right? and fremitus (when there's fluid in the space between the lung and chest wall, sound is more easily transmitted and you can feel a vibration when the person speaks or breaths) which denotes a pleural effusion, which is confirmed by radiograph (x-ray).
    I think he must have combined two different monologues because he's talking about the pain in the left lower abdomen and then he mentions the right costophrenic sulcus (right side near the liver).
    Now the question is the pleural effusion cardiac or infection? The guy had a vascular surgery so he has cardiovascular disease...or a lot of times post surgery, patients lay around, don't take deep breaths, get lung infections (they try to get patients walking or doing lung exercises post surgery) - I didn't hear him say if he was febrile suggesting infection. They'll probably do a biopsy to determine if infectious vs cardiac - sort outside the scope of my current practice, but I did go to medical school.
