Anthony is one of the most human performers out there. He did an amazing job as Dr. Green
Anthony Edwards has always been a very grounded, well liked actor. He's one of those whose been around a long time but has never been dragged through the media in a negative manner.
Dr. Greene was the most important character in E.R. Anthony Edwards was amazing in the part. The show was never the same after his character died.

Yep... I've been binge watching this year... just got a few episodes beyond Mark's death, but just really dont feel like going on. To me ER was Mark Greene. (Maybe if I tell myself the rest is a sequel... 😉)

Dr. Greene was the heart of that show. Once he left it was still watchable with Carter around but I couldn't carry on after Season 11 when he left too.

Lauren Nomina Anthony left his role in the 8 th season to spend more time with his family
He had 4 young kids and wanted to spend more time with them. I think he has said his wife and kids were based in NY and he filmed in LA and Chicago for ER. I understand him leaving but they didn’t have to kill him off. 😭

He has a way of dying so memorably so you have to kind of shake yourself and remind yourself Goose isn't real. Mark isn't real. But the hurt you feel really is real.
I just started watching ER again recently and man Season 8 of ER I cried like a child, Wish he was never killed off.

He left. He wanted to do other things. He wasn't planning to come back. I thought the story line was appropriate for an actor who brings so much humanity to his roles.
I just think about that last episode and I start crying remembering how freaking sad it was! 😎😎

I have owned a copy in various media of everything Anthony Edwards has ever done because I am a huge fan. He did a number of films that are dated but were excellent for the time period in which they were produced. Gotcha! -- an older woman takes a youth's "innocence" ala Risky Business -- and Miracle Mile -- a very dated but for the time very beautiful account of a man who answers a payphone wrong number from a guy in a missile silo who says nuclear war has been launched -- were excellent for those respective genres. I fell in love with Mark Greene the first time I watched E.R. From what I've read, Mr. Edwards is not only grossly underrated as an actor but is also a very humane person.
I loved him in The Client as well!
