- As we celebrate Rosh Chodesh Elul tonight, we know the High Holidays are a month away! Like everyone contemplating a great journey, I can already imagine the finish line: the lively tradition of singing the final Kaddish in a happy mode (unlike the mourners’ Kaddish Yatom) in the belief that our repentance has been accepted, that a good year lies ahead.
This melody, attributed to the Modzitz Chasidic tradition, is sung in many congregations worldwide, and appears here in a new arrangement.
I wish you beautiful last days of summer, a Shabbat Shalom, and a meaningful month of Elul.

Since this kaddish is from Eastern Europe why not sing it in an Ashkenazi accented Hebrew? I have heard Cantor Schwartz do that before with Oysher and Rosenblatt compositions.
