I actually had a man tell me this last week. A colleague at work who is married. I'm not even the type of woman who is braggadocious or boasts about degrees or accomplishments. His reason for saying I intimidate men was because I take care of myself and appearance. In his own words, he said men will look at me and think they can't afford me. At this point, I'm just over it lol. you look a mess and they don't want you, you look really good, you intimidate them.

I am convinced that men are not intimidated by women. A man I started dating recently told me that he started paying closer attention to the text messages he sends me since I told him that I am a published writer. He said that he is intimidated. We both laughed because he was making a funny joke, and we moved forward with our fun date. It's not a matter of intimidation. It's more incompatibility. It's more than what job or degree you have. It can be a class or a looks thing too. If a woman is eloquent and classy and conventionally beautiful, she'll attract lots of guys but the average guy knows he can't offer a similar level of value to her so she may become a turn-off. That or he knows in the back of her mind the minute she meets someone on her level he's in trouble. I'm pretty smart, but if I'm talking to an astrophysicist I can sense really quickly that my current level of smarts won't be enough to sustain them. Not ALL men are intimidated by a successful woman but the average guy knows he won't be able to sustain them.

I had a few men tell me that men are intimated by me, I say, "Well, that's not my problem, that's between that man, God and the devil." I am not going to stop being myself or shrink who I am to make someone feel comfortable and secure in themselves. In most cases, I don't even mention anything unless asked. Please understand there are insecure men who are intimidated by educated articulate women for simply being themselves. I don't have to throw my degrees/ accreditations in any man's face 🙄 If it comes up in the midst of a conversation, then it comes up. It's up to US as women to NOT choose a man that's insecure/ intimidated by us. Period! Any man who's is intimidated/ threatened by me is just not the one for me! It's that simple🤷🏾‍♀️😊

Tony you are absolutely right about how we act according to our past. I was teased in school about my clothes and that's why everywhere I go I got to be sharp because it makes me feel good about myself. You are like a therapist because you are so right I talk to much and I need to learn how to listen more, also you are right because I used to say men are intimidated by me but not because I talk about all my degrees because people do count on their titles, careers and positions, it's just easier to say men are intimidated instead of saying he doesn't like me or we are in compatible. We will never know what it's like as a man with a dang a lang. FACTS!!!
