    I like how you pointed out that when the disciples were afraid in the storm even right with Jesus, we also are afraid in the storms and need to know and trust Jesus because "he is with us"!

      Praise God! 🙌🏼 I am so glad you're here. Well, invite your friends ☺ Share this with your friends. Even set a time to get together with even just one more person, or a group, and go through these videos together. OR, here's a challenge 😉 - have the discussions of the chapter as a group and then come watch each video.

    I think just like the disciples in the boat seemed to forget Who Jesus is, we also sometimes forget the power of Jesus when we face storms. We need to remember our past so we can trust God with our future. 🙂

    • @hiswordmywalk
      @hiswordmywalk  6 месяцев назад +1

      ABSOLUTELY! I can admit I've done that, plenty of times. And if I really examine myself, there's probably at least one situation in my life right now that I need to recognize HIS AUTHORITY and know that HE is right here with me in it!

    LORD in all capitals is a replacement word for Yahweh. In the original Hebrew the word Yahweh, which means He Will Be, is combined with the word Adonai, which means Lord in Hebrew, as a way to remind the readers not to accidentally say the name of God.
    Lord in just regular script is just the normal Adonai usage. Which is just a term of respect or to denote a persons status.
    When translated into English the Bible writers decided to keep this tradition and replace Yahweh with Adonai but in capitals to remind people the true meaning. LORD.
    The combination of the words Yahweh and Adonai was also sometimes directly translated. The Hebrew people would take the Consonants from Yahweh and the vowels from Adonai to make the word Yahowah, which is where we get the name Jehovah.

    It’s mentioned in verse 15 that Jesus places his hands on Peter’s mother in law. You made a good point that Jesus is always touching the sick.
    It made me think of when Princess Diana touched the man with AIDS. By her doing that, it changed many people’s opinions on how they interacted with individuals who also had AIDS.
    Which leads me to wonder, if Jesus’s followers also viewed the sick differently (more humanly and less unclean) because they watched him treat the sick with such compassion.

    I guess I am going to have to go back and read the chapter again. I thought the centurion, Roman soldier, was a Christian. He did say he was a believer and that made me feel that he was a man of faith because he believed. Just because he is a Roman does not mean he doesn’t have faith and believe in Jesus. I will do a little more digging. I enjoy listening to you. Thank you

    I’ve never read the bible before nor been anyway religious. Recently I’ve been attending church and finding comfort in it, I move around so can’t go to the same church every week ,this makes asking questions difficult because I don’t want to offend anyone. I am going to look at your video about choosing the right translation for me before buying a bible, I didn’t even know there were so many different English translations. Can I ask when you pray or speak about Jesus helping you why do you say for Jesus to help not God? Is there a situation why you would say Jesus, God or Holy Spirit or is it what comes naturally? I hope you understand the question, many thanks for these studies and helping me to understand.

    • @hiswordmywalk

      I am so glad you are here! And I appreciate your honesty and vulnerability to share. I love your question. I believe in the trinity, meaning the Father (God), the Son, (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit; that they are one. For me, it is often what comes out naturally however I can definitely see myself being strategic in some prayers. For instance, when it comes to examining myself, or looking deeper into me; I most often ask the Holy Spirit for help. I was about to say I often thank God, but actually that's not true, I thank Jesus often and I thank the Holy Spirit. If this didn't give you clarity, I hope it gave you freedom. ☺️ There is no "wrong way", or "wrong One" to pray to ❤️ ask away

    Thank you so much for this Kaela! You have to do the rest of the New Testament this way and maybe the whole Bible!
    Jesus told the man to go see the priest (as Leviticus 13 dictates) because he knew the Sanhedrin would be informed that someone was cured by a miracle of Leprosy. No one had ever been cured of Leprosy ever!
    Have you watched the film 'The Chosen'? Very good film on Netflix

    How are your friends unbelievers if they believe in the healing power of Christ? Are they not saved because they are choosing to live their lives in an ungodly way? Just wondering.

    • @hiswordmywalk
      @hiswordmywalk  6 месяцев назад +2

      I love this question. I actually have many people in my life who respect my faith fully, and still don't fully believe and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior (yet 🙏🏻). AND, they will still ask me to pray, almost in a "what harm could it do?" type of way, and I think in a respectful way too because they know that's how I live, and that's where I go. And so I pray! Peter's SHADOW healed people, so I just keep praying and ask God to use me for whoever He wants!☺ I hope that helps answer your question.❤

    I wonder if the priest had to, like, go in the back and double check the procedure for a man healed with leprosy cause he’d never seen it happen before?
