- It's the NUMBER 1 question I get asked: Kaela, how are you so consistent with reading the Bible?
In 2017 I committed to reading the Bible daily. And when I say "committed" I meant it for real that time. I made some very simple shifts in my mind and in my lifestyle that got me to be consistent and stay consistent with reading the Bible.
I'm sharing 4 of the simple strategies with you. And when I say simple, I mean simple!
As a former elite athlete, personal trainer, and fitness professional, I literally TRAINED MYSELF to read the Bible consistently and now, more than seven years later, my relationship with God is on a level I never knew existed, and still growing from here!

After 42 years of being a Christian, now only in 2024 have I started reading the Bible consistently. More than one chapter a day because I believe we are going to meet Jesus in the sky very soon and there is not much time left. Doing it for a deeper understanding of who God is, and because I want to have a more authentic relationship with him.

I have just began to read more consistently also after being a Christian for over 20 years. After back sliding in the first 3 years of my walk, it has taken foreeever to get back to what I know to do! But TGBTG!!!
I just turned 52. (Was saved as a little child.)
ADHD, etc, makes consistency hard. But honestly, I just have a family and stuff that keeps me busy.
.. And idols... This year I have been really trying harder to stick with it. I want God to be my First Love again.

I needed this. God knew to add this to my suggestions page on RUclips. The biggest takeaway was the spending time “about” God not “with” God. Wow!! I am soooooo guilty of this!! I watch so many sermons, read so many Bible-related books, do so many Bible studies BUT i never SPEND time with God. I have always felt I could not understand the Word without guidance. But I know that is a lie of Satan. Thank you sister and God bless you! I will be consistent with the Bible. 🙂❤️😁

I just found your channel. I started reading the Bible in 2022 (I'm 64 years old). I figured out these strategies on my own, happy to say! It was a struggle at first, and now I look forward to my special time with Jesus every single morning.

Me, too. I read the entire book, then go back to chapter 1 and follow up with a commentary reading. Always pray when you read the Bible. I love the interactions between the Lord and men, women and children. Faithful is He Full of love and grace.

Thank you for these pointers. I started reading the Bible in 2023 & would have completed reading the whole Bible in December 2024 . I had major surgery in May this year . Then I learned that I can continue where l let off. God is not like man. He is consistent in loving & desiring a relationship with me therefore I continue reading the Bible. Thank you.

I have a problem am so determined to reading the Bible but nothing not even one verse stays in my mind after reading everything disappears I really don't know how to stop this

@@Carol0110 please pray before read. Do it daily. It takes time. Then you realize that you remember more than you expected. Almighty God sees you and your effort also he hears your prayer and help you to understand and remember.
Woke up in the wee hours this morning. Never heard of you didn't know anything about you... but God's timing is perfect! I listened and took my notes. I've been trying to have a relationship, and it seems for a couple of weeks us good even my g.kids respond differently to me. This wrench gets thrown in and messes me all up( stress). I know God blesses me to kerp it up and encourages me.then, after a week of terrible sadness, I cry out to Him.HE lifts me out of them. My daughter told me a couple of years ago. Mom, you're not consistent, but you are definitely persistent. My desire is to be both! Thank you, my newfound friend and sister in the Lord. You take what pastors, etc, complicate and make it simple yet powerful. Thank you !

I read the Bible because I’ve seen it keeps me from sinning. Otherwise I revert back to my own sinful ways

Thank you for your great tips. This is my 40th anniversary as a Christian, but I have only read through the bible once, following some kind of reading plan, so I didn’t really read and learn but to fulfill the “schedule” by the rushing word by word before deadline. Now I’ll be more serious and to treasure it taking the time to rebuild the relationship with God. But the biggest challenge is whenever I have a quiet moment, my mind is already occupied by things to do next. I’m like a running engine that won’t stop.

I love how you say relationship is not Monday through Friday. I've been saved for 44 years and this is my first time reading the entire bible in a year. I'm not as consistent as I would like to be and hope this helps. But I have noticed that I don't worry about things as much since reading the bible more often. So my perspective on things is changing for the good.

Thank you so much. My major source of distraction is watching christian movies always on my phone. Even when I heard and knew that the Holy Spirit was telling me to stop it. Now,he doesn't check me again but I knew I did eyed then. In the course of trying to spend time with God by reading His words,I came across your channel. Thank you so much. I will follow your suggestions prayerfully and I hope to see results. I don't understand why reading the bible is so difficult yet it's easy to spend hours on phone, social media,etc.

Its about 4am and i had been awake since 2am no sleep and am going through RUclips and i bump into this video. This was so encouraging. I've been a Believer over 40 years. I came to know Jesus when I was 8. I've had seasons of drawing close to God. It has been a rough year and I know my relationship with God has taken a back seat. I started this summer with a Holy Girl Walk memorizing Psalm 91. I am doing a study before my walk. My prayer life is coming alive. My thirst for God's Word is returning. Also, you remind me a little bit of my Bible teacher friend who was so passionate about Jesus. She passed away a few years ago. I was really touched with the first point. About the third point, I will say reading the Bible in bed from my phone and making notes in the Bible App was the time I was most consistent. When I started getting up to sit by a desk with a physical Bible and notebook, I dropped off after a few weeks.

That Lebron James analogy was PERFECT!! My story is much like yours. I was saved at 19, went full throttle, church multiple times a week, Bible college, ministry... I was all about Jesus. I spent loads of money on Christian books, watched Christian teachings, listened to worship, etc.
Then... that still, small voice...
I always resonated with this line from a Shannon Wexelberg song called "Quiet Places":
The world outside is calling me
But I hear You whisper softly,
"Come follow Me."
So I will run to Your embrace
For my spirit has been longing
To look upon Your face.

I LOVE to journal! I start with Jesus Calling Devotional everyday because it gives me a boost because, I like to keep up with the dates on each page, to help keep me consistant. AND since I love to journal, I tend to write scriptures from the journal that I have looked up or any others that have stood out to me. Without the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, we cannot grow and expect to be transformed. Once transformation begins, it becomes exciting to come to the Lord everyday to see what He has to say to you. BUT don't forget that prayer is such a tremendously huge part of being transformed and such a sweet blessing, just communing with God. Many times in my prayer closet God speaks to my heart and I come out and start journaling again, what the Holy Spirit spoke to me. So Exciting, running on with God.💞

I always write letters to God. My leter this moring was that I only want to sit at his feed and listen to what he has for me. I read my Bible and pray minimum twice a day, morning and evening. I read from the beginning (Old Testament) straight through the New Testament, not leaving anything out. I read about 10 verses at a time and then think about what I read. When I don't understand I ask God in prayer to reveal the meaning to me. I'm doing this since around 2015.
What I've learned so far is, people claim that the Bible have been translated so many times and words were added and removed, but the best thing is, God knows it! :) So, when I ask, God will either send someone to give me the answer, and I'll know it right away, or He gives me an insight (a thought or layout that crosses my mind without me thinking about it at that moment). He actually puts the puzzle together for me, so to speak, by taking verses I read before, but thought I didn't remember.
Another interesting thing about reading the Bible constantly from the beginning to the end, is that you get answers in His Word that you've read so many times before but because you needed an answer now, you realise and understand a specific verse or paragraph so much better and you think, "why didn't I see this earlier?", but the thing is, you did, but before you were not wondering about it or needed an answer yet.
The Bible is as alive as your personal relationship with God. :)

Although we come to Jesus just as we are with a repentant heart, we are called to obedience & to get to know Him through His Word. We are not saved by works but we cannot truly know Him without spending time with Him to read His Word completely, one step at a time. Reading my Bible from cover to cover changed my life completely & it’s been 34 years but I was saved 50 years ago but made a lot of terrible decisions because I was not reading His Word completely & only read Scripture or listen to pastors that didn’t talk about certain subjects, thus I made decisions apart from God. I know I’m forgiven but you still pay a price due to consequences. Life could have been so different for my children & myself if I had spent the time reading & getting to know who Jesus really is & what He says instead of man or my own will. HE IS LIFE & LIGHT & THE BREAD OF LIFE!!!

wow, only 3 minutes in ... maaaan, been in such a weird place spiritually, feeling stuck. But very similar to you, been studying and working at a seminary for the last 3 years and just now these last few months i've realized how much the word is not the foundation of a lot of things and just how much you can be involved in the things of God, desire the things of God, without God and His word. I like what you said about Him not being petty, hahah biggest hurdle right now is just the frustration in this realization/conviction and just shame it can bring. Been thinknig so much of the verse in Ecclesiastes.. Do not be overlywise or overly righteous, sense that its very close to this idea of relying on our own wisdom. Really appreciate the practical steps, needing to go back to the basics (as if we ever graduate ha). Thank you!!!

This is true! What you feed will grow (you’ll crave it) and what you starve will die! I think it’s hard for me to do same time every day! My schedule is all over the place but i so want to get back on track with my relationship with Christ. I want to become more consistent with spending time with Him because there is NOTHING like being in His presence. I started off 2024 thinking I was going to read the Bible in a year but then it just became a task that I checked off every day and eventually i stopped. I want to spend time with Him because i WANT to not because I have to. Thank you for this message. Hoping this encourages me to keep going.

Thank you for this message. I came across it accidentally, I'm sure God actually led me somehow while I was scrolling. I got saved in 1995 age 28 and until 2015 I was in the Bible daily loved the Word. When I went through storms, I would get even closer to God. I always thought I would always be close to Him and rely on Him. Then I'm 2015 I went through a very hurtful thing and menopause started a couple months later. Little by little I read the Bible less and less. I was so depressed for a few years. I'm better now and I try to read but it is a battle! Every day I get sidetracked. It's sorta like I'm scared to pick up my Bible. I can't explain it. I am going to try to implement your plan. Please pray for me!

As I got into career mode, married young, had kids and now stay at home to homeschool them, I've found a consistent routine SO CHALLENGING. I want it so badly, but I get to easily distracted. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is so weak! I'm excited to implement some of these ideas. I have a consistent workout routine, so that correlation hit home. Bless you!
Oh I GET IT!!! Creating the consistency and the routine can be the hardest part. There is a real adversary who cares way more about our time with God in His Word than anything else. Wow..Im sad you've had huge losses in such a short time..yet..God really wants you totally dependant on Him. He is refining us. We are His Bride & we are preparing our 'wedding gown'. See 1 Thesselonians 4:14-18 & 1 Corinthians 3 about the works & our rewards! (Works=those as unto God eg..include also in our home praying, worshipping in spirit & truth).
Ive seen/heard my daughter almost daily for 4 years grieving for her husband (1st & only love)..who was lost to her & her 3 children, through an accident..her once love of Lord had been quite lost but through this anguishing time she has only run into Jesus & He has shown Himself strong to her. I was there dor her to help her keep her eyes on Him. She has a lovely relationship with Him again. I encourage you if you might need..find someone who can encourage you on..that is what we are to be as the Body to each other.

I read it! I cry. All the way. I feel the issues at hand. I see a vision . Of their life. I dream of it. I can’t handle some of it. I tell him so. One day a friend asked me a question. The anointing n power of God came over me. I became the person, and my body went thru a complete … of the truth …. Of the person of question in the Bible. I still today day I can feel the situation. It’s real. Just read the Bible of Jesus. Learn about him. Be forgiven. Set free. Healed . You will know him thru prayer.., hs will train you . Ref. To scrip. Dreams. Visions.!

I thought I’d mention my morning routine. I have a devotional called Jesus Calling and I write out the scriptures listed at the end of each day on post it notes and keep them in the book. Then I watch The Bible Recap here on YT. It’s only 7 minutes and it helps me learn each book of the Bible. I do this every day without fail. 💜🙏🏻

It is said that she channeled the book. You'd be better off ditching that devotional and reading straight from God's Word.
@JD-yq3dd , idk about channeling, but I believe that God showed me NOT to read Jesus Calling book. I know that it is well written but it's what the author is telling me and she's not God. God wanted to tell me what He wanted to say to me. I opened the Bible and God showed me. I have a relationship with God now and it's sooo much better than Jesus Calling or any other book that's not written by God.
@@Kara-jd8ef I appreciate your concern with Sarah Young’s writing. I know when I’m reading her words that they are just inspired by many years of prayer. I don’t take them as God’s word. Just inspiration to read and write out the scriptures focused on each day.

I stopped saying today for 60, today for 30, just 15 today because those days in His Word were few and far between.
