I just bought the Hawx R80 as a comfort/more upright standing boot for use when teaching the kids to ski without the pains of my Tecnica, high flex, forward leaning, tight fit high performance type boot...... The foot volume of these Atomics are awesome & have a great fit for someone with fat feet like myself.... Wide enough to stabilize the toes, arch support is decent for a stock boot,, the ankle cuff is taller & deeper to lock into, the forefoot room is YES & it is very easy to step into.......

As always an excellent comprehensive review, thanks for posting this vid! I wonder if any changes are coming to the Atomic Magna line for winter 2021/2022.
I bought these ATOMIC HAWX MAGNA 110 S GRIPWALK BOOT 2021-2022 and skied them last season and now this season. Custom footbeds and fitting. They fit great last year and were awesome. I lost about 40 pounds and I've been working out, my Cankles are gone. I was 282 and now down to 238 lbs. I couldn't get the upper part of the boot tight enough to be responsive this past week at Vail. It looks like I can move the catches over to the next hole to get in the range I need. Is this possible or do I Need to take them into the shop to do this? What tools do I need if this is DIY? Thanks.
The shell stiffness varies hugely according to temperature - it is very stiff in cold weather and normal at room temperatures.
You mention 102mm last but my Magna 110s indicates 104mm (written at the bottom)
That is pretty interesting. All information from Atomic says 102mm, but the Memory Fit Shell can stretch out further than that.
@@skisdotcom I'm surprised as well, I can see Atomic listing it as 102mm. It definitely says 104mm at the bottom though.
@@nickbakis1553 it’s my understanding that the published last width is for a 26.5 sized boot, and that last width increases incrementally as the boot length increases. Perhaps your boots are larger than 26.5?

Width is indeed proportional to length. For a 29/29.5 boot the width will be 108mm.
