      @@Kitty-lz2ecKitty you were awesome on Name That Tune. This golden medley final was as close as you can get. Eventhough you didn't win the $100K, you sure are a champion in all of our hearts. Great show it was Name That Tune. I am glad that a lot of people remember this show to this day. Tom Kennedy would be smiling up above knowing that this show is still going strong.

      You knew the tune but rang in a nanosecond or two too late and then you and Michael would’ve gone to a one-tune playoff and whichever one of you gave the correct title to that tune would’ve won and of course in those situations you cannot win by default. You have to come up with the correct title. That was so close

    Watching "old" TV shows with my young daughter to show her how things "used to be" ... Caught this show, then saw the little video of you playing musical chairs. Wow. What a wonderful life you have had. We wonder if it turned out the way you wanted it to in the game show...
    I did notice that at the very end, you seemed to hit the buzzer on time but then they just ended the game, but now see your comment about the edit. Interesting. Well, thank you for sharing this and all the best.

    Wowsers! This was a very emotional series for me. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1978, but I never knew that this series aired at that time until now. In Cleveland, Ohio, the show would air on WEWS-TV 5. The drama, comedy and music make me very emotional in different ways.
    The name Kitty is very cute. And you were a very strong contestant with a lot of knowledge in music. Your facial expressions while bidding on Bid-A-Note were hilarious. But the competition in the $100,000 finals was very close. I was hoping that you would win, but you lost by one tune over Michael Coyte! Yet, you played a very tremendously wonderful game. I wish you the very best. Th-th-th-that's all Folks!

    Name That Tune is one of the all-time classic shows from the game show era. It's fast-paced, fun, and you use your brain for more than just saying "big bucks, big bucks, no whammies, no whammies, STOP!" Deal or no Deal is too slow and plodding. I don't like how Steve Harvey mocks and makes fun of contestants on Family Feud. Something about hearing a Howie Mandell tell the ladies to open the case or an Alfonso Ribeira saying, "deal the cards" seems masochistic and degrading to the ladies. Compare to Regis or even a Meredith Viera on who wants to be a millionaire, or Richard Dawson's Family Feud-or even a Jon O'Hurley and you can see who has class and belongs as host-and who does not. You want examples, Dick Clark, Geoff Edwards, Jim Peck, Jim Lang, Bob Barker, Monte Hall, Gene Rayburn, and even
    Jack Barry on "The Joker's Wild" heck Jack Clark (Dealer's Choice, Cross Wits) and there is a fantastic era of intelligent, fun television just waiting to be rebooted and it will be an absolute gold mine for ratings and fun for viewers (Sorry, I almost forgot Alex Trebek, RIP, Sir and thanks for the memories!!!).

    • @meyerj75
      @meyerj75 3 года назад

      Steve Blaugh It's great you remembered at the last second. 2020 has been tough on game show emcees. First, it was Tom Kennedy (93) and then, Alex Trebek (80). As for Wink Martindale, Bob Barker, Peter Marshall and Pat Sajak, they're the last ones left! Life goes on....

    • @steveblaugh2180
      @steveblaugh2180 3 года назад

      @@meyerj75 I think Bob Eubanks is still among us. I never knew he hosted Card Sharks. I never much cared for Jim Perry and loved Bob on that show, when I saw reruns on GSN. Yes, I go back to the days of Money Maze (Nick Clooney) and the Big Showdown (Jim Peck) back-to-back on ABC. I think the first game show I ever saw was when our family would watch Beat the Clock with Bud Collier hosting, and Let's Make a Deal with Monte Hall. That was so much fun!

    • @meyerj75
      @meyerj75 3 года назад

      @@steveblaugh2180 Oh, I completely forgot about Bob Eubanks! He too is still around. My bad. So was Nick Clooney, Jim Peck, and although he only hosted that one game show "Face The Music", Ron (Tarzan) Ely who by the time of posting is 82 and has recently survived a stroke though he's still recovering (not even near 100%) and is confined to a wheelchair.

    • @steveblaugh2180
      @steveblaugh2180 3 года назад

      My bad for twice forgetting Alan Ludden and Bert Convy who hosted a later variant of the Password games, the one with the big round requiring the contestant to correctly guess ten pass words in one minute to win five grand, which was a lot of money back in the day, and sometimes it was more than a new car such as the Chevy Vega they gave to contestants on name that tune and I think concentration with Jack Narz. Loved Jack Clark on Cross Wits and Dealer's Choice-that was a VERY exciting show that should have lasted much longer! Dealer's Choice still has a show or two on you tube if you want to check it out. Oh yes! Bill Cullen!! That guy was great on everything he did as was Chuck Woolery (Wheel of Fortune; Lingo; Scrabble; Love Connection and, I think Winning Streak so that game show era was really a fun time for daytime television and how they ever gave up the games and decided to run soaps instead is something I'll never understand, except that maybe the high divorce rate, women's lib and the general breakup of the traditional nuclear family probably were more relatable to many people going through al of that stuff in their own lives but really, who wants to watch more of it on TV when real life is going to pot...

    • @steveblaugh2180
      @steveblaugh2180 3 года назад

      Loved Alex on high Rollers and Classic Concentration. He was an absolute professional and seemed to really love what he did and it goes without saying that Tom Kennedy is a game show legend! My Aunt loved watching him on Split Second and at home on winter mornings for Christmas break and a driving snow storm outside it was a great introduction to game shows and I became instantly hooked!

    Looks to be 1980-81 season as Funky Town was not a hit until the SPring of 1980. Love to Love you Baby by Donna SUmmer IIRC was the song played but not named and not IDed after., The first episode airdate on KABC is 4/25/81 as they say Daylight Savings Time starts "tomorrow morning" and NTT aired on Saturday nights on that station that season, until it moved to Sunday nights later in 1981 as the voiceover said in the last episode.

      Zach Horan Actually I DID NAME THE SONG CORRECTLY AND THEY EDITED IT OUT. They asked me to name it after the clock had expired and I named it.
      They bought 2 chairs in and we sat for 30 min while they replayed the tape over and over. When they came back in they kept apologizing to me and you can here part of it at the end... the audience was angry... I was just glad it was over!
