It’s already there with Jane krakowski with Randy Jackson and the name that tune band It went off to a flying start yesterday with an $84,000 and a $136,000 winner on the golden medley and it films in Australia
Note when the car spot is on the outer wheel is removed when finishes the third tune, maybe use an electronic sign with connectors that illuminates the double and the car spot.
This was the same chyron text that it was used for the Magnetic Video logo from 1977 through 1981, and it was shown on “Name That Tune” hence the same font.
I'm just coming across this episode right now. It must have been interesting for you cheering your mother on from the audience. Looks like it was quite a show.
It was the best. Running up on stage after was great too. I was 10, my sister was 7. She has since passed away at 43 from an out of the blue aneurysm. Sad.
Thanks for sharing the video 😃 Amazing picture and sound quality for a show aired in 1979! Was this a homemade recording on VHS or Betamax, or did your mom receive a copy from Ralph Edwards Productions?
Edit: Upon further review/research, the Car panel is removable. In the time that Tom Kennedy was giving the $400 and the keys, a stage hand turned the outer wheel so that the double was at the top and the Car panel was on the lower right side behind Julie. The Car panel was removed and replaced with a panel that blends in with the rest of the non-Double outer wheel design. Original response below… If I had to guess, the design appears as though two separate outer and inner wheels were built: one with the car on the outer wheel along with the two doubles, and one with just the two doubles. Just as that hexagonal wall rotated at 1:21 to bring in the initial Melody Roulette wheel, I’m guessing around 6:35 they rotated the wall again with the second inner/outer wheel, and the backstage crew had the inner wheel set at the $400 spot as it was previously spun. That’s why they kept the one camera shot so long as Tom Kennedy was counting out the money and handing over the car keys, so the crew could make sure the wheel was in place. The rotation seems similar to a trilon, like you’d see in the Pyramid winners circle bonus round, Concentration’s 30 panels in the 1950s to the 70s, and the Wheel of Fortune letters prior to them becoming digital. In this case, it’s four-sided: -The main hexagon design from the start -The Melody Roulette wheel with the car -The Melody Roulette wheel without the car -The Golden Medley Showdown countdown clock
@@MrRobHelm does your family still have the car? What a classic. I remember watching this show, I could never guess the names. God Bless and thanks for sharing!
DLR Young We had just moved to Winston Salem, NC from Lansdale, PA. Most of her prizes were appliances, cash, the car and a trip. My parents decided to sell most of the prizes, including the car, and convert the existing garage into a den and built a new 3 car garage. They weren’t able to sell the trip to Tahiti. The trip originated in LA and you had to get yourself to LA and back then that was expensive so they gave the trip up. The smaller prizes she kept and most were delivered by UPS. Back then UPS rarely did residential deliveries and he came to the house so often bringing prizes we got to know the UPS driver :) They had to pay taxes on all the prizes either accepted or sold.
RIP Tom Kennedy. The Narz Bros. together again.
Also R.I.P. Jim Lange
The 70s, great times. Love the commercials too.
Yeah I just wish they were all back.
Name That Tune should make a comeback. I miss those good old days.

Haven't seen this show in ages.. forgot it even existed.
Name that tune is my all-time favorite game show
One of my favorite shows in the '70's!!!! They should come out with a new show!!!!

Robbie -- Your Mom was wonderful!
Thank you

Thank you! It was my first TV gig as a singer,😍
27:53 - Audio promo for "Hollywood Squares" and "Fantasy Island"
i love this show during in my grade school days i watched it.
Good ole days
That white contestant was good tune namer.
They had the weirdest prize bumps, were they in a zoo, taping Furniture and freezer promos. Very odd. The polar bears looked confused.
My favorite moment at 16:17. The polar bear scratching his groin.
That little kid in the Pizzeria commercial was the inspiration for Chucky.
Great episode...thanks for bringing it back!
That is my mother.
Yep...glad she had the foresight not only to record her appearance, but also to save it all those years!
Robbie Helm A very handsome family and congratulations to your mother! How did she fare in the $100,000 playoffs?
+G$8605 thank you. Not so well. She blames she wasn’t quick enough on the buzzer.
They need to do a re-boot in 2020 with like Robbie Williams or Paul Young, etc...🎤🎼🎶🎸🎷🎺
There actually is going to be a reboot. It will air on Fox on January 6, 2021. Jane Krakowski will host and Randy Jackson will be the bandleader.
@@brysonprocter5246 WOW...I hope that's true...I've put it on my calendar!! Thx ❤🎸
@@brysonprocter5246 That day will also be the 35th anniversary of "The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime".

13:10 she guests the theme from the apartment right and it plays.
She knew it from the clue…
She sure did!

I knew more notes as a kid(14) than I do now.Lol.
I know only 3 channels, but we had quality network show then. supertrain!!
The lucky few who were able to get PBS to work and lived in the B-signal of another market had it made.

@@MrRobHelm the Black Lady.
Marcie Davis no, my mother was the contestant.
I wonder if the new one is going to be any good.
Do you still have that Car?

The name cards for the contestants and song names look like the basic ass font you'd see in old VCRs.

That song is from "Grease".
That closing number, yes, "Summer Nights."

How fast did the car come off the wheel. Did someone sneak in and take it off while he handed the keys over

Helen Reddy
He said 5 notes and they only gave him 3 wtf
On “Am I Blue?”, all five notes were played, the fourth and fifth notes were a little softer.
On the piano, it was: Bb C A…..Bb C
Totally random question: Any reason we had to exploit the polar bear? And the giraffes, while we're at it?
Yes the polar bear pleasuring himself right there on TV!
Must be the San Diego Zoo.
Where is Kathie Lee and her bowl haircut?
Robbie Helm , Do you have the $100,000 Name That Tune Theme Song ? From This Episode?
At the end they play the theme song.
@@MrRobHelmAlso further more, on that Show your musical knowledge will be put to the test.
Looking back at all these old game show episodes makes one realize just hos stupid and phony they were, hehehe!!!
She was sequestered, she had to know the songs before her competitor, the cash and prizes were real. Still have some turtle wax.
