The inline spinner might be the most catch-all lure ever. I caught everything that swam with a Mepp's Comet Mino on my Zebco 33 when I was a kid. I still use Rooster Tails 45 years later.

Rooster tails and in-line spinners catch absolutely everything. My favorite is getting a lightweight setup, my waders, and throwing a rooster tail in a crystal clear creek. You'll catch panfish, crappie, bass, walleye, etc. I even catch catfish sometimes.

If you ever come across a pack of Zoom black trick worms, rig them on an offset 4/0 round bend hook with no weight and twitch them just under the surface like a fluke in those farm ponds. That's my favorite and the first thing I'll throw in a new pond.

When I was a fisherman back when I lived in Pennsylvania, I never used anything but spinners to fish. I got that idea from a buddy who was the exact same way but he did it first. And then I sort of followed along, and I caught anything and everything in spinners basically, but mostly trout. I never really had too much luck bass fishing except for one clear, deep quarry which I used large shiners for and caught them. But don't ever let anybody tell you that you can't catch bass with spinners. I've seen plenty of people catch them on them. That buddy of mine caught his PB with a blue fox spinner. And that was taken from another quarry and it was 7 lbs.! A large mouth. Also I was going to say, if you take some bass out of that pond, some of them might start growing with extra food around for less fish. That's what I've always heard anyway. Oh well thanks for the video Ron. I actually classified it as a bass fishing technique video for me to learn from later. God bless!

Actually because of this video and others that I've seen you use your rooster tail on, I went to Academy Sports today and bought a really nice big bass spinner. I think it was made by rapala. I couldn't find any rooster tails that looked big enough. I'm trying to throw bigger baits lately, but even some times I catch a fish that's about the same size as the lure 🙄 go figure!

Oh yes , the " in-line spinner " . They catch a lot of different kinds of fish . Pan to trophy Trout ! . I ,my self use " Mepps Spinner's my self . ( 60 years ) The truth is in-line spinner's catch a lot of fish . They are easy too use and offer so much fun . Weather a farm pond , lake ,or creek . Ya just can't go wrong with em . A different type is a " MEPPS TIMBER DOODLE " . 1/4 oz - 1/2 oz . fresh / salt water a great weedless lure . With this kind of fishing the FUN never stops . A lesson I learned a long time ago is the KISS method: Keep It Simple Stupid. For when I complicated things, that when life would get out of hand. It is the simple things that brings meaning to this world. I love almost everything you do, be it fancy editing or a simple pound mission. I got to make a case for roster tails: I use to fish a small pound which was loaded with small silver minnows. The pound also had a interesting population of good size bass, catfish and many other game fish fed into by a creek from the Savanah River. So if you wanted to catch the bass, you would use small silver roster tails or small white plastic jigs. Other lures would kind of sort of work, but not well. I would out fish a friend of mine everytime because I would use roster tails and he would usually use plastic lizards and such. The largest bass I hooked was over 10 pounds, for the pound got very little fishing pressure, so it had good size bass. I really miss that pound! I love your channel, pretty much everything you do!❤

The fish you caught can be caught with anything. And yes they are always near shore.
I prefer a whopper plopper. It makes the fish explode out of the water and you never catch dinks

Though not my go to, rooster tails are a great stand by lure! Every time I see you at these ponds I just wish I could throw a fly rod and some poppers or streamers at those guys!👍🤙
