yes Mountain witch! man i listened to the audio book At the mountains of madness and like two days later mountain witch comes up on spotify for the first time playing their song by the same name and immediately became hooked.
A few of the High On Fire's labelmates on Southern Lord would be some great, (though obscure,) examples of the fringes of Stoner Rock and Stoner-adjacent sub genres.
On the stoner theme I couldn't recommend the band OM any more for you, incredible atmosphere and ambience in their work. Would recommend 'Gethsemene', 'State of Non Return' or 'Haqq al-Yaqin'
We gotta get some Electric Wizard and Sleep in here at some point! For Electric Wizard "Funeralopolis" is probably a good start, for Sleep maybe Holy Mountain or Dragonaut

Winter's Wolves is my favorite older song by the Sword. Their newest High Country and Used Future albums have trully brought them to a new height of expertise. There are songs on those albums which you would assume is some lost tracks straight from the 70's.
I saw these guys live twice. First time they opened for Kyuss during their reunion tour and The Sword stole the show. The second time was a small venue in SF just them no opener. Both were indoor venues and there was so much smoke you could barely see the stage. These guys are incredible live. Maybe even better than in studio.
