Love the present box block. So very cute. Love your lime tee shirt. I love the color lime and the flavor. Yum. Love the hair clips holding the rolled fabric. Great idea. Learned plenty from this video. Thank you for showing us how to do it.
Ha, had to laugh...our business is counseling...my husband is a psychologist...I run the business end. I’ve sewed, quilted, etc for many years. I can verify therapy is waaay cheaper than sewing! But so worth it! Love your videos and always learn something! Lynn in Indiana
Becky, thank you so much for showing how you hoop a t-shirt for embroidery. I have had a love/hate relationship with embroidering t-shirts. The way you demonstrated hooping looks so much easier than what I do. Now I want to go try one again, the “Becky way”
I majored in Spanish in college and I pronounce VILLA like you do. Everyone here in central NY looks at me as if I'm nuts! Oh well. Love your shows! SO glad you decided to try my suggestion of cork and fabric for a bag!
Loved your hooping lesson. I love it when you show us something, because sometimes I have seen it before, but didn't have a clue...but watching you do it, it makes sense!! Thank-you!!!
Another super video. I would love to go to Houston Quilt Show but it will not be this year. Attended the Madison Quilt Expo and walked the 400 vendors on Thursday. I was good and did not spend a lot of money but did see lots of interesting things. Took me 3 hours to walk the vendors and some booths that did not interest just walked on by. Enjoyed the quilts that were made in memory of Nancy Zieman by the a local quilt club.
Hi Bonita I was at the show in Madison on Saturday and Nancy memory quilts were nice. I am visiting family and friends in Chicago. I live in San Diego.
I’ll watch for you that day at the Quilt Festival. This will be my 3rd year. I take classes and just enjoy the show. Plus, I could spend days in the vendor section. I go on Sunday night and fly home on the next Sunday. So, no, sewing is definitely not cheaper than therapy. But definitely more fun!
Your t-shirt looks great! Now I have some new items to add to my "wish list" for birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day, etc. LOL Thank you for the helpful embroidery tips!
Good evening Becky. I can't believe how many sewing tools we have in common. I have had a PAL for a very long. I tried to use it a couple times without success. I never would have thought to use washers to hold it in place. That was a cool tutorial on how to use it. My Short E arrived Thursday. What a nightmare to put together. The Master CD was blank. The Short E was larger than i thought it would be. I have moved around my sewing room several times. I think I am set. I haven't tried it yet. See you in the movies.
I love to watch you, I do learn something, Love you Brother sewing machine I told my better half I want one he told me I need to sale a few of my older machine then he would think about it, Not lol. I would love to meet you at Quilt Fest in Houston. but I will not be in Houston until march I have 2 brother live there. I live in east leroy Michigan just a few hours away. maybe someday are path will cross. Keep up the great videos love watching you Dorene Boult
Quilt festival is on my bucket list! Someday maybe? Anyways I enjoy your channel and your down to earth approach. Have a good week and I'll be watching for my next therapy session with you 🙃
Love your vids..learning alot....you have a wonderful sense of humor Thanks for the tip on stitching out tee shirts as I have had a few munched up ones..AWESOME
Becky, there is a lady on you tube by the name of Jennifer Maker. She did a vlog on July 9th about different types of tee shirts fabrics that you can use the infusible ink on. She does a test and shows the outcome of each. Of course Cricut recommends to use it on their products only. For sure it doesn't work with 100% cotton. She knows tons of things about all of the Cricut products. I think you will enjoy it. I bought one of the totes and did a name on one side and an animal on the other. It turned out very pretty. Love the tips on embroidery. Take care
Thank you SO much! I will check her out. Maybe I just need to switch to poly tops for those designs. Maybe I'll keep them after all. Thank you again! You're a gem!
Becky, you crack me up! Can't wait for you to do the Edge to Edge quilting. Not sure that sewing is cheaper than therapy, as I have a few more years on my Synchrony acct.
I appriciate getting right to the session topic. Being that most of us are busy too, it would be helpful not to have chit chat but get right to the lesson. However, I understand if one follows a group, it might be good to hear all the other wordy info.
Morning Becky! Love this video. I do embroidery but usually just on cotton fabric. Haven’t gotten brave enough to do T-shirts but have had several family ask for them. That Iron on mesh for the inside? Is there a particular one you like? Hoping to meet you in Houston. Yeah! I’ll be there Sunday Thru Sat. We go every year for the week to do classes. Wish they would do a few more classes on embroidery. I do long arm classes and some new painting classes this year. Looking forward to it.
The inside iron on mesh by either OESD or Sulky are both good. Do a test on a rag t-shirt and when you like it, do one for you (or the dog) first. Once you get that right, you're ready for family shirts! Looking back, I should have used Sulky Solvy + (Plus) instead of the tear away. That way the Solvy will come out in the wash.
Thanks for sharing the embroidery. I would have used a topper. I can never get my open embroidery to lat flat after washing. I will be attending a dime event in October. I will have to see if they are having a deal on that lamp. What a nifty little item.
Sure wish the embroidery design ?Sewing is cheaper than Therapy" was still available. I was not able to find it on Urban Threads. Would you have a link? Love all of your video's.. I am new to embroidery so just now coming across your older videos. Your a Great instructor.
I bought Amelie Scott's book and CD right after you talked about it last week or so. I haven't tried it out yet but I thought as you did, that the smaller projects would do good using it. Glad also to hear your rave reviews of the product.
Becky, your fabric & cork bag is going to be gorgeous! Love your t-shirt though I’m kind of doubting the saying....lol. Can’t wait for the Quilt Festival! We met Angela at the Brother booth last year (such a sweet person) and are so excited that we’ll be able to meet you this year!
I love your videos. I learn something new every time!. I have a question, could you go over using the print and stick paper. I’m fairly new to embroidery & would like to understand a little more. Also, if you ever did a tutorial on the edge to edge quilting, that would be awesome! Thank you
Becky, if someone hasn't already mentioned it, you should be able to use the Cricut Infusible ink on any sublimation blanks...shirts just need to have a high polyester content.
You can use it on on any shirt that has a high polyester in it. I used it on a 100% cotton shirt for the granddaughter it turned out ok. Look on RUclips they have some videos on it.
1st of all I have to say I love your videos, and like you I also love my Embroidery machine. ( Unfortunately here in UK we don't have the machine embroidery groups like you do ) I have just ordered the edge to edge book and am really looking forward to having a go with it. Could you please tell me where you got the T Shirt design from. Thank you and look forward to all your future video's.
Love watching your videos! What type of OESD iron mesh are you using. After looking at their website I couldn’t decide which one you used. The iron mesh that I’ve been using tends to peel up after several washes, and you had said this one never comes off. I definitely want to try it.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I used OESD Fusible Poly Mesh - Cut Away. Give it plenty of time to fuse to the shirt and let it fully cool before moving it off the ironing board. Also round the corners of the mesh before fusing. That helps to keep the poly from catching other items in the turbulence of the wash and pulling up at the corners.
O my goodness. My best friends mother in law passed away and lives in Michigan and she has grand kids that live in Texas. Wonder if it is the same person. That would be so crazy right.
Do you have a certain measurement that you use when you put the mark for the middle of your design ( from the rib neck line down )? What is the name of the OESD iron-on stabilizer? 😃 😃 😃
I normally put the shirt on myself and then hold up the print out to a mirror to see where I want it. I'll put a pin in the shirt at the top of the paper just as a guide, and then when I get to the ironing board, I'll exactly figure out center/left/right. At least then I have the pin to keep me from putting it too high or low. It's a low tech method, but it works. ;-) That was OESD Fusible Poly Mesh Cut Away.
You are such a wonderful person, if someone is down just watch you, you will make them laugh.Love your videos keep the good work. When are you going to show us a demonstration of the christmas quilt you are doing with Amelie Scott designs?
brenda tomlinson I would love to see a demo of the Amelie Scott Designs as well. I ordered the book but would like to see how you do it. I know there are other RUclips videos of it being done but I really like the way Becky explains things and she’s just plain fun to watch. 😃
It's called American Cowboy by Whistler Studios for Windham Fabrics, Pattern #39671 :) I got it on a hop at a quilt store years ago that has since gone out of business.
Could you possibly link to where we can purchase the embossed leather-like fabric? And also your source for cork fabric? Maybe you could have the person who is making the bag for you do a guest tutorial?😊

Just use a TShirt that is at least 80-90% Polyester of course 100% is best. That is just sublimation ink on sheets. so you have to use the right material. Then make sure your iron press is the right temperature. It works great with a heat press. The cricut heat press 2 gets hot enough. The heat press 1 I do not believe will work. Hope that helps.
I'm in charge of the bus for the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild bus out of LaGrange. We are going on November 2nd. You can use 100% polyester for the cricut ink. what pins do you use for floating t-shirts? I can't seem to find the right pins.
I'd use curved quilting pins if you have any.
What color thread did you used on your lime green shirt?
Maderia Poly Neon, 1977 Sapphire
Just use a TShirt that is at least 80-90% Polyester of course 100% is best. That is just sublimation ink on sheets. so you have to use the right material. Then make sure your iron press is the right temperature. It works great with a heat press. The cricut heat press 2 gets hot enough. The heat press 1 I do not believe will work. Hope that helps.
Do you you ever use a sticky stabilizer on t shirts?
I'm not a fan of sticky stabilizer on shirts because it can be too hard to remove the tiny bits. I really prefer a sticky spray if I use it at all.
Can you get patterns for the Sip & Sew mug rugs for just making and quilting one, no embroidery machine to use it on.
No, sorry. That pattern is proprietary to Kimberbell Embroidery.
How do you print a copy of the embroidery design especially if you purchased the design and it's not one built into your machine.?
Get the free version of Embrilliance. You can print from there. Look for vids from Itch2Stitch. She has a 4 part video series on Embrilliance.

There are posts all over the web. The t shirt has to have a certain amount of polyester
