Logan is articulate, passionate, and, probably, the world's most concentrated expert on Hoplomachus: Victorum. I have not watched this, yet. I am going to prepare some lunch, sit down, and enjoy this 100 minutes of Hoplomachus: Education.
Excellent, looking forward to it! With someone other than Krakenlance perhaps? He got a playthrough already on another channel. But either way looking forward to it!
This is what a how to play is all about, thank you so much! As a visual learner, reading rulebooks has always been a challenge for me. This provides such a better level of understanding for me in more ways than I care to mention. Thank you very much for this.
Wow, I feel like I should pay for this how to play video, it's so good. I don't think I'm seen a better How to Play video. Every time I had a question during the video, you literally answered it after I thought it.
This video is fantastic. Such a clear, controlled and concise explanation of the game. I haven’t ordered this yet but this explanation really helps me decide if I want to or not; in advance. Thank you CTG (and yes I plan on ordering it!) More of these types of video please
Thank you! This is one of the best how to play. Long video but watched the whole thing at once. Long but not boring. Listening again at work. My copy comes Friday! Thanks again.
I must say I'm impressed with this video. Absolutely brilliant explanation. I didn't expect that level of teaching skill from a nonprofessional “how-to-play” content creator. Thank you!
Tremendous. Very fluent, really knows and appreciates the game. Never felt bored even for such a long video. Well done and thank you. Now’s the time for me to plunge into this fantastic looking game!
Stoked you made this video! Thanks for all your help in the forums and with this video, Logan. You are a true Hoplomachus Hero (even if the box crushed you)
I can't believe I just watched a 2 hour how to play video, but holy cow, Logan is excellent. The Rodney joke at the beginning and end is awesome, but also highlights that this guy is professional! Nice work CTG, as always.
I watched this video twice and I barely understand anything, but I feel like I must buy whatever this man is selling. Excellent video, this game looks great.
Usually I'm sleeping during these videos before the end... And I almost didn't ! First time time ever :D He is pretty good at explaining it and his passion is keeping you awake !
This video got me started with the game today! Was putting it off because I was intimidated --yet also super excited to play. Now I'm well on my way to getting murdered by the scion! Thanks for the great tutorial. Keep it up! 💪👌♥️
This was immensely helpful and well done! Was able to jump into the game and play along to quickly take off the training wheels. Outstanding game, loving my first play through and excited to look at more heroes and strategies.
Such a fin-tastic overview extremely clear and made sense for me after briefing over the rule book and setting everything up. I just got this game and can't wait to play this right now thank you for the video!
This video is so helpful, thank you! I’ve been trying to work through the rulebook but this clarified a lot, currently midway through Act 1 with Krakenlance, on my way to battle Decimus as the first primus, wish me luck!
Thank you for making this video. I just received Victorium and Remastered, and feel a lot more confident to get them to the table, especially Victorium for solo
Such a good video. I really hope Elder Scrolls will get one like this :) One nit: 1:10:48 - you forgot the First Strike on your Harpooner, could have saved HP on your hero
Great intro. I must say, if there is an award for heaviest game (literally, the one that weighs the most) Victorum is definitely in the running! Especially when you consider that the box size isn't huge.
At around the 21:49 mark, the atlantean harpoonsman popped up in your camp. I tried to go before and after this point of the video and I cannot determine why they are there. Thank you!
at 1:08:56 Couldn't you have used the Harpoonsman to attack? With First Strike and a range of 3, it seems like it could have. Or, am I missing something?
I reached out to QM to see if the Canadian portion had already left the US for BGB, but they said they don't share that info without Publishers lead/ok. So please tell me the Canuck portion is well on its way to BGB. ;) Can't wait to play! ARGH! They did tell me the US portion was finished shipping though. That's nuts!
Any sort of update for us Canadians would be very much appreciated. Although to be honest, I had no idea this game had been produced and shipped ( I was a late backer during the last Too Many Bones campaign so I probably don't get the updates). So just the fact I may be getting this in January would be amazing. I thought it was still being designed lol.
@@bholmes4 last couple updates CTG said we’ll likely be 2-3 weeks behind the US. If you got in on the late pledge for Hoplo, I would bet dollars to donuts you’ll have it January ;)
@@jazepi Actually now that I've had time to think about it I think I had to get it all shipped with Too Many Bones Unbreakable. Oh well, at least I didn't miss out on this and hopefully get it in early 2023.
The Harpoonsman would indeed get to attack with First Strike had Logan chosen to do so. Not remembering his unit's abilities definitely cost him a free attack.
The Harpoonsman would indeed get to attack with First Strike had Logan chosen to do so. Not remembering his unit's abilities definitely cost him a free attack.
So good. You are a very good teacher. Thank you sir "the most fun part of the game, losing" :-)))))) Question: why did they remove your video from bgg?
Great video! Just one question - after winning Primus fight, defeated Primus goes to the bag with local units or not? If yes - is it possible to recruit it to my capm later after winning Sport event?
I’m thinking the same thing. On page 33 of the rules, under Stacking Stats and Skills, I read it that the Arena Rule takes effect, and then the Tactic Chip would be on top of that.
When facing the Scion, did you forget to add 4 Bains to the 6 you had earned, from each Vesuvian units remaining in the.stack When your encampment moves onto thee Scion event, gain a bane for each unit remaining in the Vesuvian faction stack - as per started on the Vesuvia arena card. Your bain track had amassed to 6 bains, so an additional 4 making 10 would have meant 9 health (allowing for the 1 blessing remaining) to each bad boy coming out, not 5. Is this not correct?
I have a question in regards to enemy targeting. Let's take for example 36:58. If the left opponent was one space down, that would make it so he cannot reach anybody. Who would he target and try to move to in that case, the Hero (because it's higher on the priority list) or the Strongest opponent (because it's closer)?
If none of a unit's priorities can be reached, it uses its movement to get as close as possible to the highest priority on the list that is present in the combat.
confused with 'Dazed' and Innate Skill: 'Tactical' does that mean the unit with 'Tactical' Innate skill Can *only* move while dazed. Or can the unit attack as well?
It can only move. It's basically overriding part of the restriction, but not all of it. First Strike is the other side of the coin, allowing a unit to attack its first turn but not move.
17:50 you stated that when spectating you can look at the top 3 cards of any deck. However, the rulebook states it has to be the deck matching your current location. Which is correct?
Do we have 12 weeks max to do main events and after that fight a Primus/Scion (for the equivalent of a year of 52 weeks) or you have to fight them at week 12 max for a total of 48 weeks maximum?
Logan is articulate, passionate, and, probably, the world's most concentrated expert on Hoplomachus: Victorum. I have not watched this, yet. I am going to prepare some lunch, sit down, and enjoy this 100 minutes of Hoplomachus: Education.

@1:02:50 A local Mountaineer with Adrenaline wouldn't have 4 movement? Can a stat only be affected once by other factors?
I’m thinking the same thing. On page 33 of the rules, under Stacking Stats and Skills, I read it that the Arena Rule takes effect, and then the Tactic Chip would be on top of that.
