The original Hoplo is my favourite game & Victorum looks like it will make it even better! Went all in on the Kickstarter & can’t wait for it to arrive.
I'm halfway through my first campaign and really enjoying it. I think your comment about wanting more CTG games is a common experience once people get a chance to play their games. I love them all! I haven't checked the Scion Epilogue book yet but I think it should have at least a little narrative in it.
Yeah the Scion Epilogues as well as the character paragraphs sort of flesh out a bit of a story. I think more narrative would get in the way of what makes this game great, I just can't help but want more from it since it is so much fun. Did you finish your campaign? I am curious how you did against the Scion...I beat the crocodile, but Taotie absolutely stomped me..
Oh yeah, I can definitely see the similarity. I almost bought that game on sale once, but I don't have anyone to play these types of games with. That is one reason Victorum as a solo game works so well for me
I know that you already got tmb base game and you mentioned you want unbreakable. I hope the base hasn't ruined it for you because I think unbreakable should be the best starting point. Base game is good value, but the design is inferior than undertow and subsequent gealoc expansions
That's a sweet little gem over your left shoulder (Resurgence). Waiting impatiently for Victorum/Remastered, should arrive this week or next. Fingers crossed. If you like solo, Cloudspire is a master-class puzzle for solo play. CTG lays out each scenario and your job is to maximize (3 goals) achievements to carry-over some benefits/effects between each scenario. It's heavy, and bloated, and beautiful. Too Many Bones gets all the hype, and while just-deserved, Cloudspire is CTG's perfect game. ;)
I cannot wait to bust into Resurgence! Yeah...after playing through 2 campaigns I jumped on CTG's holiday sale before it ended and picked up TMB as well as Cloudspire... You just hyped me up all over again lol
@@mikeysboardroom If you got ALL of Cloudspire, it fits in the base box, incredibly (including the hard cover scenario books) with about 3-4mm lid lift. I just got my shipping notification for Riffle, super pumped to play them, and come spring, Unbreakable. It’s gonna be a great year for new board games.
@@jazepi That is amazing about Cloudspire! I got the base w/ 2 expansions and I did also get the first hardcover book since I read it really fleshes out the game and sort of adds a story. I am kicking myself for not getting Riffle, but at the time I didn't have any TMB content yet lol. Each year just keeps getting better and better for games, it's crazy!

I think you are going to love it! I wish I had gone in on some of the deluxe items, like the reusable campaign tracker and the dice tower 🤙

@@mikeysboardroom unfortunately I haven't had time yet to finish up the last two acts.
@@brianbaker3731 Ah bummer. Let me know how it goes when you finish it up!
Big fan of the intro. Personally, that sets the mood for the game and the review.
Thank you, I appreciate it! Your videos always set the mood perfectly right out the gate, I'm glad I was able to duplicate that feeling 🤙
Make me think of one of my recent buy war chest

May i suggest to try it on boardgame arena for free to see if you like it
@@voyageurastral Great suggestion! Thank you!
Hoplomachus with a more of history it is Too many bones
That makes me very excited to jump into Too Many Bones! Thanks! 🤙

7:55 you already knew that before ordering the product. Why didn’t you do your homework.
No index is a good point though.
