Dabbling in the Demonic Quest - Runes Explained

This video explains simply how to select the runes in the Quest "Dabbling in the Demonic" for the dps quest line to get your artifact weapon upgraded (without blowing yourself up 10 times)

Somewhere on one of these comments I had said it wasn't working what I didn't notice is Cyiq rune was turned on but since it shines with a black hue I couldn't tell until I looked closer. turned of Cyiq rune and activated only the ones shown in the video and it worked. thx dude

If it doesn't work you should log out and back to try it again. This fixed it after I first failed eight times, after relogging I completed it successfully the first time.

I can back you up on this. I just tried what you said and logged out then in, and it worked.

1) If you've already activated the wrong runes, you gotta "activate" them again to turn them off. You'll know they're on because there'll be shiny floaty stuff on top of them.
2) Only activate the runes he mentions in the video (Taam, Talar, Dregla)
Explanation : Dregla is the one to go with, but it needs a balance of arcane magic (Talar) and death magic (Taam) to work. You don't want to go with the other runes because Xiur is shadow magic and that will mess up the arcane magic of Talar, Cyia is corruption magic that will mess with the death magic of Taam and Igannok is void magic and that'll also mess with Taam.

I just got the right answer first try after reading the books, but I was not confident. The NPC said "I hope you know what you're doing!" and I was like "I death knight! I swing mace!"
I came here to see if maybe there were multiple answers but it seems like Blizz's clues weren't too vague this time.

Done this on a rogue no problem Worked it out myself. Now trying to do the same quest on and Elemental Shaman and it isn't having any of it. Tried these 3 rumes 3 times and it fails every time.

I clicked the three runes 4 times and in opposite order and when I talk to the dude it won't complete.

After a few deaths, I found your video. Only problem is, when I go back in to do the runes, after I click one, it says "runes are stabilized" and he starts his thing and I get killed. Again and again. Abandoned quest to start fresh, and it still does that. Any ideas? Thank you for your video.

+Janene221 hmm. Once you reset it after getting killed as long as you follow the sequence in the video it should trigger the next step. I'm not really sure if that isn't working

You have to abandon the quest and make sure they're all deactivated and then you can take the quest again and activate the ones you need
