    If the grade is missing, how can I tell it to leave that space blank? Right now it's saying "#N/A" as an error for those students who don't have a grade.

    Just need clarification. Can I add columns to my main data sheet and insert VLookup into those 2 new columns. I have watched 3 other videos but I think yours was easier to understand. I will try these steps next. Thank you.

      Yes, but Vlookup usually only works for one column at a time so you can run it in one column and then run another vlookup into the other column.

    Let us imagine if students id are same in your example and scores are different, how to apply vlookup to get both scores data against same students id?

  • @profemoser2059
    @profemoser2059 10 месяцев назад

    Does the data need to be numeric? Because I am getting the incorrect letters I have pulled in (to denote LD or ED, for example, I'm only getting an X whereas my original sheet has LD or ED specified) and the numbers are not coordinating with the student ID as they should.

    • @donovanscience
      @donovanscience  10 месяцев назад

      Is the X in a different column on the data you are pulling from? It could be that you have misaligned your equation. The first column you are pulling from has to contain the value you are looking for. In the video at 1:33 you can see the equation starts with A2 because that contains the unique value I am using to search, those values can be found in the first column of the range I am pulling from (B3:I22) and then I count from that first column of B how far away the column is that I want to pull the data from. So if the value I was trying to pull was in column D, I would have a 2 in the equation after the range.

    Hi what it the vlook up needs to be open in another workbook? Pls

    • @donovanscience

      If you need to do this from one file to another file, you will want to use an Importrange to bring the data from one file to another and then you can use Vlookup on that data. I do have a video about how to use ImportRange.
