Olivia is SO UNDERRATTED! For someone that has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, it's so odd that so many people are not familiar with her music. This is one of my favorite songs of hers.
Who doesn't love Olivia Newton John? This song takes me back to being a ten year old boy listening to my radio in my room to songs like this. This is when I realized that I loved the soft rock ballad type songs. 1978 was a magical time to be young!
@@michaelasay8587 debatable. Both were awesome. But ONJ just had everything, the personality, the looks, the singing ability. Karen Carpenter was obviously no less iconic. How lucky we all are to have witnessed both.
She was so beautiful. Her voice was just as beautiful. She recorded a song written by the Bee Gees called, Come On Over. She and their younger brother Andy Gibb had a duet and I'm completely blank on the name of the song. It's fantastic though. She and Andy sang together a lot when they both hosted the show Solid Gold. In one episode Olivia and Andy got to sing with Abba. It was a great show. Olivia would be a perfect picture to describe the word Kindness.
This takes me back to my childhood. My parents loved her. My Mom would play her albums on a big console record player. We would dance around the living room haha....Miss those times and my parents.
Is it just me, or has this song not even dated? I can't believe that it is now 47 years old, and it still sounds fresh and as if it could be on the radio today! A surefire favourite ONJ track... Thank you for keeping her music alive...
I love this song! It's funny you saying she is perfect. I thought so when I was 7. She was my role model and my absolute favorite singer until Celine Dion came along. But I always felt that Olivia was special and she is missed terribly.
Olivia was a beauty and such a sweet soul in this world. RIP Olivia! Had such a crush on her when I was like 9-10 years old ❤. She was so talented as a singer & actress! Check out the song - "Have you Never been Mellow"
She and Karen Carpenter were the best of friends before KC died. I find it ironic as you pointed out, how confident Olivia was and Karen was the total opposite. She never knew how good she was. I think the two of them completed each other. May they both continue to RIP. ❤
There was a lot more 'subtle' sexy back then, and not profane and blunt - in the lyrics and also in the and how they dressed. And Olivia, after Grease and "Sandy" fame, found out she was WOW at both, and she took advantage of it. Madonna really copied Olivia's 'changing of styles' in the 80's and 90's, but she took it to the extreme. Much of the 80's music grabbed this provocative style trend.
Some songs of hers, I Honestly Love You. Sam. Have You Never Been Mellow. Please Mr Please. Come On Over. Physical. The songs from Grease. In which the Bee Gees wrote the song Grease.

Love this song. Olivia has such angelic voice. She is sorely missed.
RIP Olivia 🕊️
It’s so nice that we still share her music to keep her memory alive.
This has always been my favorite Olivia Newton- John song! This song was all over the radio in 1979!

Would not trade those times!
Olivia indeed had it all.
Karen Carpenter was better....

Heck of a voice on ONJ and she had some really great songs-like this one, which is one of my faves by her. RIP Olivia. 🖤🎶

"Rest your love on me a while" is the song you're thinking of.
Love that song
I was in middle school at the peak of her popularity. And yes, I thought she was perfect too.
She always smiled when she sang and thats what made her different from all the rest. You can hear her smile when she sings. Sheer perfection

Good non-prejudiced taste!
My childhood crush. You’re right…as close to perfection as a human could probably get. And all accounts are she was total class
This is my favorite of her songs.
She was perfect

As a teenager in the 70s I fell in love with 3 Women. Suzi Quatro, Olivia and Linda Ronstadt. Talk about girlpower.
Very cool the best love ya

This and “Deeper Than the Night” were top notch ONJ.

This song and several more of hers were considered provocative at the time.
Oh, how I fell hard for this woman when I was just a kid ... and songs like this one, not as much hype but it's everything we loved about Olivia.
