If I’d not watched a number of these videos from the PO enquiry I wouldn’t have believed that so many could have been this inept at their day job! Most are monosyllabic with the memory capacity of a fish! Disgraceful!
I just dont get why they honestly thought everyone was trying to steal from them. Unless this was purely about money coming back to POL. But as already suggested so far they dont seem like the sharpest knives in the drawer.
They are way more than inept, their gravy train was under threat they lied, suppressed information, destroyed evidence & obstructed the truth. They knew exactly what they were doing . & the next cronies in gov Whitehall or other cushy jobs waiting their turn for a job at the trough knew too & went along with it. & I bet they don't lose their gold plated pensions either whilst the rest of us plebs make do on around £12,000 soon to be taxed to pay for their pensions..
Beer asked the obvious: “Do you agree that this paragraph is a warning to the Post Office that if it was to take certain action, ie to commission a review, then the Post Office may be heading in a direction which may lead to the discovery that innocent people may have been wrongly convicted?” Ismay replied: “Well, yes, this statement clearly is a warning.” This shows that Ismay knew there was something dodgy going on and he was willing to turn a blind eye.
These ppl were/are paid 6 figure sums to be on top of the details. None of them seem to have received/read vital emails. None of them communicated/liased with other depts & None of them seem to understand that with big money comes big responsibility. 'Not me, guv, that's above my pay grade', is not an adequate response when it was your place to inform/pass on essential information.

It seems obvious that anyone who was copied onto these emails would see the direction or "positioning" of the Post Office and would commit career self-destruction by standing up against it. I'm not defending these people but just saying the groupthink was very strong, as it is in a number of other organisations when inconvenient errors surface that would cause a huge correction exercise, and call into question performance of bosses and the bonuses they enjoyed. It doesn't look like there was one person who felt like sending an anonymous whistleblowing email to the Government about it. I am starting to feel that Gareth Jenkins should be given immunity in this inquiry to fully spill the beans to cut through all this "I don't recall" stonewalling we've seen.
38:25 Ismay - "There were relentless reviews going on in my team". ME - Yeah Rod but the one very important one that was being used to decide on whether to send people to prison, you didn't really give a sh*t about did you?
Anyone whose worked with new IT systems being implemented remotely knows that the developers keep remote access to monitor and correct bugs that invariably show up . Fujitsu would have been reluctant to say to their customer that they had serious problems with this System. Post Office should have questioned the possibility of software being responsible for so many sub postmasters issues earlier. The enquiry has been compulsive viewing. The mainstream media should be doing as good a job as you are in publicising every day the people being questioned.
Love the bingo! I did that in work for years in meetings to see how many “management” phrases they came out with 😂 If I was questioned i said it helped me focus on the content as I was listening harder
37:38 did you catch "What is going to happen to people" instead of "What happened to the postmasters" ? He is more concerned with what happens to himself and (ex) coworkers👺. this needs its own vid!
Again, there can only be two explanation options: either A) utter incompetence and criminal negligence or B) Criminal conspiracy and cover-up. There is no third option.
Charlie, I watched Wed. Session and it occurred to me that Horizon wasn’t quite bad enough for PO to have to acknowledge they had a problem with the bugs. The combination of poorly coded software, pushed out to all the POs before it was ready, lack of training for PMs and investigators and Fugititsulack of responsibility allowed the result!
This guy ismay is a total people pleased.his ego loved the adulation he thought he got from management.these people are not stupid yet they can't see the implications of what they done..not.he know exactely what he was doing a total robot
If the various Orcs can get together and write off a sum of 9989£, I believe that is correct it was such a long time ago I perused it, 10 mins at least! what is the reason given that ,KNOWING it was a system error, they subsequently went ahead and made SPMs make good that same type of phantom amount that kept cropping up all over the country , not only that but and this is the big one in a large company accounts are kept to the penny ,SO it should be a matter of ease to put ones hands on the actual monies paid to the post office by the SPMs in lieu of going to jail ,If this isn't the case ,has it fasllen into pockets????
It's all about the culture of a couple of people at the top. Let's be straight but a couple of those that they have filmed being interviewed don't come across as very intelligent . They would be a complete liability in any company that I know . The sort of people that if you were worried about profits and stagnation they would be kicked out immediately , trouble is I think that most people who had climbed to a certain height in the P.O. would be difficult or impossible to get rid of . This Rod Ismay appears particularly slack jawed and dim .
Copious "I can't remember" - "I don't know" merchant. Vennells to deliver a masterclass in memory loss and perjury to the inquiry on Wednesday 22nd May at 9.45 am and for 3 glorious days.
I love the bingo, but we're not all playing by the rules. Once a ball has been played it's not supposed to go back in the bucket to be played again, so please can someone tell the witnesses that they can only use "I don't remember" once.
A wonderful anagram of Roderick Ismay is 'Idiocy Remarks'.
Quite suitable (in hindsight).

... thats an insult to fish and i've never met a lying cheating fish in my life ...
My two Shubunkins are now over qualified next to this Post Office lot! 😁
They are all raking in the money and living on the golf course I expect .
I just dont get why they honestly thought everyone was trying to steal from them. Unless this was purely about money coming back to POL. But as already suggested so far they dont seem like the sharpest knives in the drawer.

I hope pressure is put on the police to sweep all these crooks into jail pretty damn quick.

The lawyer Beer is fantastic , he leads them into exposing their incompetence or just plain dishonesty
So boring that paint watches him dry
Rodney Trotter more like! Another one who deserves a long prison sentence. Keep up the good work Charlie.
Rodney Trotter is innocent, mind.
Distract, Deflect, Deny
How did this man sleep at night?
He had to have known that he was on in "The fix".
It is a sad thing that people like this man have no problem sleeping and even living in luxury i bet.
He talks himself to sleep. What an unbelievably tedious man.
Best one yet, no interuption
Personally I like the comments...if kept short.. ❤❤
The Post Office Alzheimer's Cluster continues
37:38 did you catch "What is going to happen to people" instead of "What happened to the postmasters" ?

He said he was getting 200 emails a day. Assuming 8 hr day thats just over 2 emails every 5 mins. 😂
It was probably Jarnail Singh inadvertently sending his on because he didn't know how to operate a computer
Bingo game is brilliant. 😂

M sorry I can’t read, I need help getting dressed and I cannot remember…who are you? Sorry can you repeat the question..
14:00
Mr Beer asks question
Rod Ismay - Looking like "Oh fuck" uhm er gee uhm I don't, arrr. shit whoops.
What they will remember is when the judge says take them down. HOORAY.
They didn’t realise the seriousness of what was going on, shameful management.
More memory loss and 'not me guv' going on.... 😮😮😮😮
Bingo card full
It's just missing 'robust'...

You missed “drinking water” on one of the boxes?
Hard to believe he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a memory like that.
describe in plain English ! what he heard was, describe in as many ways possible, the same thing over and over again, until we fall asleep

Rod Ismay.
Dismay more like.
I don’t know about you but I recon this bloke is lying and remembers everything. He’s playing the fool imo.
He's convincing though 🤣🤣
4:57 plane english love the comment
Anyone think this guy has shares in Birdseye Products' he certainly got a lot of waffle .......
Seems a bit thick to me.
It's at the 14:00 that Ismay realises, "I'm screwed".
Check the look on his face
Ro Dismay
Why not just revert to the regular NO COMMENT
I don't wish to be mean but he doesn't sound very bright.
I am not convinced it is genuine though I know clueless people are often promoted beyond their ability but he can't be THIS clueless. 🤔
Bingo card is accurate and a lot of fun! Can you please play it and count how many times it comes up
the coward what a piece of work ,tell the truth ,show some decency.
