- A former Post Office inspector “asked a sub-postmistress’s son if he loved” his mother, the inquiry has heard.
Jennifer O’Dell, who ran a Post Office in Great Staughton, Cambridgeshire, was suspended from her role in 2010 after being blamed for a £9,617 shortfall in her accounts which was actually caused by defects in Horizon.
Jon Longman, the lead investigator in her case, was questioned on the investigation and others he was involved in today.

I watched it all live. Here is a brief summary of this miscreant's testimony. "It wasn't me Guv. That was some else. I can't remember. It's my name at the bottom but it was not my comment. I didn't do that. That was some else's responsibility. It wasn't me Guv. I did nothing wrong. With hindsight I should have done this. With hindsight, I should have done that. It wasn't me Guv. I cannot recall. I didn't do that . I can't remember. It wasn't me Guv."
It's as if they are reading the same damn script. And is that dreadful Bradshaw guy still in his investigator job? Because he shouldn't be.
All Post Office official that received any form of bonus-should be forced to repay that bonus-before being sacked!

When asked if Mr Logman remembered speaking to the postmistress's son, he appeared to say "interviewed him, not under caution, but on a friend interview" I wonder what the hell that meant? Anybody??

Blame the lawyers , they instruct these thugs to say as little as possible ,then when asked direct questions the answer is always the same, I can't remember.the whole kit and caboodle of them should along with the greedy grasping lawyers should be prosecuted , but it almost amounts to a certainty that none of them will be .

I find it incredible that nearly all those investigators have sudden bouts of amnesia when recalling details of what they accused postmasters and postmistresses of. Yet these postmasters and postmistresses can remember exact details details of what they were charged with.l

Not aware of what I was doing,didn’t know anything the time I was in the post office…absolute liar and I damned hope they are taken to court and jailed for there dereliction of duty..

The way people immeasurably more intelligent and honest than their inquisitors were treated beggars belief. The man being questioned here repeatedly displayed such a lack of intelligence that I'm amazed he'd have got a job delivering letters, let alone persecuting honest intelligent people who kept protesting about the faults in the system.

I will be very surprised if anyone who deserves to be prosecuted is. If there is justice and they are prosecutes and convicted and don't end up in prison, the bare minimum should be very hefty fines and all proceeds go in a pot for the victims. "I can't remember" my part in ruining these peoples lives is sickening. These people will go home after their turn, sit down with a glass of wine and say "I'm glad that is over" without an ounce of genuine remorse.
I will be amazed if anybody at all is prosecuted. They will all just lie low for a while and then walk into well paid jobs somewhere else. That is the way of things in the UK.
This reinforces Alan Bates comments that the Post Office while they said Postmasters were 'partners' were not in reality treated that way.

He says he can’t remember what was said but it wasn’t in that context!! That is a brazen lie right there. If he can’t remember what was said, he can’t remember anything, including the context. He is dead to rights. Liars and underhand behaviour by so many Post Office senior managers and investigators, who must all go to prison and be asset stripped and have their lives ruined, as they ruined so many sub-postmasters and mistresses. Shameful. Absolutely shameful.

The sad part of this investigation from the start. We have all went to the post office at sometime. The people behind the desk and local. Postman. Are the main part to what we all see as the PO. These investigators or whatever they call themselves.

I get the impression none of these "investigators" has the ability to find the time of the next train from their local station, let alone investigate the alleged missing funds. They all come across as meatheads, who's only skill is to bully and act like back street debt collectors. The only thing they didn't do was threaten to take a finger off for every day the debit is outstanding. They wouldn't be out of place in a Guy Ritchie film.
