Greg: “And the last domino will fall”
Me: *don’t*
Greg with his new shorts.. "I have so much more room for activities!"
here's my take: the show is building up omega, she makes mistakes and tbb correct her, she learns how to function as a member of the squad so when the big episodes do happen we don't have scores of baby boys whining about how she has no training or knowledge, or how dare a girl fight with them, etc.. i also love just exploring and taking in the star wars universe - i love the animation and all the details in every scene so i'm having a great time and loving each episode - its a lovely star wars adventure at the end of a stressful week. but i do get how some people might feel disappointed if they are hoping for clone wars fast action, explosion a minute war stories
I mean, I don’t mind those war stories whatsoever in TCW. It is the Clone *Wars* after all. But I would like to add that TCW also had a TON of fun, slowed down, world building episodes all throughout it’s run, from even to S7, which many fans seem to forget. All the shows have it really, Rebels especially. There’s big episodes and there’s small episodes and neither is worse than the other. They just all serve different purposes and I wish more fans can understand that. :/
@@Vandicoup exactly! 100%. You summed up how I feel on the series. I was surprised to see people not enjoying it because until I got online I thought it was fantastic
@@GiantDivineMoth Amen. Same here! :D
This Episode was very well organized.
First 5 minutes- Star Wars talk
Last 68 minutes- just Rexin Around
Some people: Make Solo 2 happen!
Greg: No.
Yes, to the No
WOOOOOOT!!!! My reddit post made it on the show!!! Lol. Love you guys and everything you do. Y'all are hilarious.
Greg’s calves are to die for
late at night, when you hear creepy noises around outside, its actually pasqually peter the rancor snooping around your yard foraging for snacks
I think one big aspect that people ignore with these animated shows is that they’re more catered to the younger audience. I’m not at all suggesting that these shows aren’t for all fans, because they are, but I think this format is made so that kids will have more episodes to watch and sort of “grow up with”. I could be completely wrong, but I think that’s why the animated shows take a lot of time in between the big story stuff and give us episodes like we’ve seen in the Bad Batch. Has the show been AMAZING so far, not in my opinion. BUT, it will pick up and eventually get really exciting. Filoni knows what he’s doing, and by the time it’s all said and done, I’m sure we will look back on this season with some awesome memories. For now, I’m just gonna enjoy every episode for what it’s worth. When things start getting really good, we’ll be ready 😎
I love Gregg's new saying to tolls "go touch grass" brilliant
Micheal and Greg squad!!!!
Thank you for talking (about anything) and brightening my day!
I wish we were friends because I need star wars buddies to help build my first armor set that's been sitting in the corner watching me die in college 😅
2:02 Greg: “We’re your new friends.”
Thank you 😌💗
That intro man ... Magnificent! So excited to watch this episode ngl
As someone who has been on the receiving end of Michael's comments on my IG, I totally get what he is saying. Having him comment on something I created did make me feel really great. I look up to what he does, and him taking time to take in something of mine and react in a tangible way (beyond a casual like) has a lot of value. Thanks Michael! (I am OddViking on IG and the discord).
Hello Rexin and Greg. I agree. Bad Batch is taking time to build up the characters. Great episode. Keep up the great work.
I love the Vibe of this show so much and you guys make me happy that there are other fans out there that don't get ridiculously uptight about the canon and leaks and stuff. It's about having fun and enjoying stories that capture the imagination. NEVER change boys!
Hearing about the Greg's old vest as a security blanket hits. During college times (less than like 5 years ago now), it was the height of The Walking Dead and I had a replica of Daryl Dixon's vest and would wear it EVERYWHERE. Almost all of my casual photos from college, when I'm out and about, I'm wearing that thing. I still have it and it's now lovingly worn in, but I've fallen out of caring about it at all really now and haven't worn it in years. Haven't realized it really until now that I had relied so heavily on it in the past.
Solo bombed in theater for one reason: it released AFTER The Last Jedi, The Last Jedi broke the fandom in two and Solo was forgotten about while everyone was arguing about how TLJ was bad/good.
there were people the genuinely didn't even know about the movie because people checked-out from star wars movies after TLJ.
ive been into star wars since i can remember, but TLJ even made me question if i cared about the franchise anymore(TLJ is the only thing SW i refuse to watch)
Plot twist Michael was actually right about the cat sitting and got a message from Lucas film to act like it was a joke to cover it up.
25:00 we already got greg to ship reylo, now he's honing in on kalluzeb and i love it lmao
I would totally be down for another podcast where you guys talk about anime. It would be fun to see the dynamic kinda change with Greg knowing more about a certain fandom and have Michael react to anime.
I've never been on Reddit ever. And every time I hear stories like this one I remember why.. people REALLY need to go outside more.
The way you guys perfectly balance star wars talk and bro talk is awe inspiring! Happy you guys found your way back. I find myself getting excited every time I get a notification that there is a new RA episode. Thanks for the weekly laughs, really enjoy the show.
Damn you guys! was very Quiet in the office and the "He was a bounty hunter named Jango fett" reenactment killed me! could not contain my laughter! thanks
I just realized the funko of Michael I made was on the set. Im so happy you still have it on display. You Made my week better man
i genuinely cant wait to see a multi fandom pod cast from you guys!!
Hi guys ! Love what you are doing here ! Bringing the community together and joy on all you do! Having hard time nowadays in my life I really enjoy 1 hour of chatting with you ! Helped a lot in the past as well and I am so flab you are back !!!
Okay, let me state that firstly, I LOVE Captain Rex. Huge fan. My gamertag is inspired by Rex AND I have jaig eyes (along with the fulcrum symbol) tattoo’d on my calf for goodness sake. I think ONLY bringing Rex into things will turn it into the Rex show (kinda like Rebels in a way) BUT if we get Rex, Wolffe, Gregor and maybe others, I think Bad Batch will absolutely go berserk. I’m all for a clone “rebellion” and I think things could be sick.
Which I feel is likely to happen. I mean, seeing Rex in that 2nd trailer had my head swirling! We're almost definitely gonna see Gregor and Wolffe, I hope. We need to see exactly how Rex found, rescued and got their chips removed after all. We only just heard about it in Rebels. Now we're gonna see it, potentially. :D
The name of ROTJ’s Rancor is not just from Wookieepedia. Wookieepedia got the name from the canon book, Aftermath.
I’m here for all the leaks about the “Catleen 3”
The look on Michael’s face as Greg claims that Han and Lando don’t add anything to the OT is priceless. You can tell he’s already seeing the comment section get so heated.
First off. Amazing episode. About the clone rebellion. I hope there is one because right now, with ep3 (I think) it’s shown that clones are better than recruits however as we know they eventually faded into regular humans so surely they need to explore the reason why they did that, and my guess is the clones rebelled against the empire
I love what you said Michael about how you and everyone can grow
Can we just take a moment to appreciate Greg's shredded calves? #goals
A little late for this…but I honestly wish we see other clones hunting the Bad Batch, specifically maybe Delta squad. They’re canon, and if that makes any part of the game canon at all then maybe Sev wouldn’t be with the group at that time so Crosshair could fit right in. I don’t know for sure, but the Commandos very well could be under the control of the chip ( I know legends is different due to ARCs/ Commandos being very very independent but that’s legends). I’d like to see more stuff happening with other Clones/ Empire and see it developing.
Is the Kashyyyk arc still coming from the unfinished episode? Would that contradict some stuff? I’m not too sure. I would just like to see more Clone vs Clones and the emotions behind both sides. That’s something I feel is missing a little bit is emotional stuff. Maybe it’ll come later on hopefully.
Obviously this is just stuff I’m wanting to see that I think would be pretty interesting. Commandos vs Commandos instead of regular humans hunting them. That’s just me. What do you think Michael? Would you think that’s fan service?

Always the best way to start my Monday’s 🙌🏻 thanks for doing what you guys do 😁
I am really enjoying Bad Batch for what it is, HOWEVER the show was sort of hyped up and marketed as a sequel to TCW and it really isn't. Except for Echo the Bad Batch weren't really part of TCW, they were only in one arc at the very end. We all want to know what happened to the characters we love, that we grew attached to. What happened to the other clones? What was order 66 like for them, who served with the Jedi and seemed to care about them generally? What is the fallout when they realize they killed kids in the case of those who attacked the temple or killed their Padawan Commanders? Where is Rex? Where is Cody? Where is Wolffe? What happened to him? When did Rex meet up with Wolffe and Gregor? When did they remove their chips? Fun as the Bad Batch can be, I don't really care about them in comparison. Full disclosure, the only thing that interested me when they first announced it was Echo.
Something I saw someone point out was also just the story difference between TCW and TBB. TCW and Rebels both covered big, galaxy affecting stories. A litteral galaxy wide war and a rebellion against and oppressive tyrannical empire. TBB seems to be a smaller, more self contained story so it doesn't mesh all that well with them even though it is supposedly the bridge between these two shows. The stakes are lower and it feels tonally dissonant. No one minded a smaller, self contained story with Mando season 1 because it was never hyped as anything else. You tell me something is supposed to be the sequel to TCW and I've got expectations, I'm looking for stakes. Some of that is on me, but some of that is also on Lucasfilm.
@@Vandicoup Okay, first of all please don't mansplain to me about where the Bad Batch came from and all that. I know, I know where they came from, I know about the Kashyyyk arc, I watched all the unfinished reels and the panel stuff. I've been watching the Clone Wars since I was like 13. I'm almost 25. I'm a fan buddy, and I don't appreciate you acting like I'm not and I don't know what im talking about. Just because my opinion differs from yours doesn't mean I'm not a fan, you don't speak for all fans and neither do I. I gave my opinion about how I'm feeling at this point in the show, based on the content we've been given so far, in the comments of a podcast that discussed peoples opinions about the show so far. You could have looked at my comment, thought to yourself that you had a different opinion, and went on your way but instead you felt the need to come and leave SIX replies telling me why I'm wrong and I'd know better if I had all the information you think a fan would have.
I know Rex is coming, I saw the trailer. I saw every single trailer they put out. I got hyped for the show itself, and thus far it hasn't been quite what I was expecting. I didn't say I didn't like it, in fact the first thing I said was that I am enjoying it. That doesn't tell us anything about how much he'll be in it, what his part in the story will be or what other characters we'll see. We can theorize and guess, but there isn't actually any proof that we'll see any of the other characters we've become attached to throughout the last over a decade. We don't know if we'll see Gregor or Wolffe or Ahsoka or Cody. We don't know that we'll get a clone rebellion. We could. It seems like something Filoni would do, and I certainly hope we will. I even think that we probably will, but there is no actual proof. I'm not going to Mephisto myself into thinking we'll get something we might not and then being let down and disappointed if it doesn't happen. I base my opinion of the show off of what we've got so far, not what we might get.
Perhaps I used the wrong words when I said that the Bad Batch weren't really part of TCW. I should have said they were barely part of it. Yes, they were part of it but only for four episodes in the very last season. Sure, they were supposed to be in that Kashyyyk arc but ultimately that was never actually completed or done. The average viewer might not know about that, or care since it wasn't finished and that is okay. Their opinions are still valid. For me it's like a sequel following Dengar the bountyhunter or Riyo Chuchi. Yeah, they were in TCW but they certainly weren't a big part of it and their stories aren't the ones I want to know more about. I say this as someone who adores Riyo Chuchi, btw. Still doesn't mean I think she should lead the sequel to the show just cause I love the character. A spin off, sure, but a sequel is the continuation and in some cases completion of the over all story. Had we had the Kashyyyk arc completed there would be more preexisting attachment to the Bad Batch and they'd feel like more prominent characters, but ultimately that isn't what happened, so for some people that attachment is not there, wich is why they are building that up with these slower episodes. However, it does mean that things feel slower. that is just a consequence of that. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just not for everyone. That's fine.
I'm already attached to characters like Rex, Wolffe, Gregor, Cody ect. and so are tons of other people. We've wondered for litterally years what happened to them and wanted answers. It's not just the 1-ish year we waited between season 7 and TBB, people have wanted these answers since the show was cancelled in 2014. That's almost a decade of wondering, it's natural to wish we were getting those answers instead of following characters we don't know that well.
You say it's the 'sequel we deserve' and that is your opinion. Others disagree. I happen to be one of them at this point. I may change my mind, I may not. Won't know until that happens. However, from a writing stand point sequels match the general tone and stakes of the previous story, that's what makes them fit together. That is how writing and narrative flow works. So far Bad Batch hasn't fully done that. Something fully following the other clones and focusing completely on the aftermath of order 66, a literal genocide, and the huge shift in the galaxy going from the the Republic to the Empire would match the stakes and continue telling the story of the galaxy that TCW started. There is a ton of content there, and a writer as talented as Filoni could easily give us 16 episodes of exploration of that, especially with them only being 20-ish minutes long each. An entire season focusing solely on the build up to the clone rebellion, for example, could do all of that and still showcase the Bad Batch in a cool way and some people are annoyed we didn't get that. I'm not saying I'm full blown annoyed, because I'm not. I reiterate, I like TBB. I'm enjoying. I'm excited to see what comes next. I rush home to watch the new episode after work every friday. It's the first thing I do when I get home. So far I'd just hoped for more. Also, I'd like to point out that by bringing up the different stakes thing I was just pointing out what I'd heard others discuss elsewhere and found interesting, to add another opinion.
I know that the Clone Wars was originally for kids, I was still kind of a kid when I started watching it. Some of the early more kid appropriate stuff is still my favorite parts. (catch me watching Innocents of Ryloth on a loop dude, I'm obsessed.) I love kids shows, I watch a ton of them. That doesn't mean I can't be dissapointed about certain parts. I'd argue that TCW wasn't a kids show by the end (we saw ahsoka beheading people in season four already as well as a lot of other very adult stuff the farther into the show we got), and considering we saw them pull flamethrowers on civilians in episode 3 I don't really think Bad Batch is either.
There are lots of things I love about the show so far. The animation is amazing, Omega is adorable and I love her, I think she's a great character. I've grown to like the Bad Batch a lot more. Wrecker is super cute, Tech is funny, and Hunter has a really good heart. I can't wait to see more of Crosshair and his story, it's super interesting to me so far (wich is saying something because I really disliked him in season 7) and I called him my son at one point while watching episode 3, so for me that's saying a lot. We saw Cut and his family again, I loved that. My boy echo is out here freeing slaves and low key acting like a stressed parent to Omega, it's great. I get to see more of Echo in general, amazing. But there are parts I don't love or things I wish we could see instead of certain stuff. That isn't negativity, that isn't me needing to be more positive, that is me looking critically and open mindedly at the show I'm watching instead of just blindly telling myself I like every single thing about it because Filoni made it. I'm not say that is what you are doing, but that is what I would be doing if I ignored the stuff I'm not happy with for the sake of only being 'positive'.
My opinion is different than yours and that is okay. Your opinion is different from mine and that is okay. Please understand that not everyone has to agree with you to be positive or have an acceptable opinion about a show that is fake and set in space. It's not that big a deal. It's just a show.
@@charmedforeternity I just want to say I appreciate you taking the time to write so much and going hella in depth with some rando you don't even know and someone you didn't even have to reply to at all. I read your entire response to me, from start to finish. You're absolutely right, which is why I deleted all of my replies to you just now. There's no need to explain to me how much of a fan you are and no need to defend kid's shows either, believe me haha. I grew up with TCW myself too, I was a lot younger than you however, was 8 when the TCW movie first came out and everything else just clicked after that, never missed a single episode and saw all the external stuff same as you. I just genuinely wanted to share some info with you that I thought you weren't aware about is all.
And yes, you're absolutely right. I should've never said it's the sequel "we deserve." That was waay too general, coming from me, and I apologize. But I do just want to mention that, officially-speaking, TBB is the "sequel and spin off series" to TCW as stated by TBB's showrunners and the official Wookipedia & Wikipedia articles on The Bad Batch show.
I really wasn't trying to mansplain, allege you were a fake fan, belittle you for not knowing some of the info I knew and so on and so forth, but I apologize nonetheless. I re-read some of my replies and they did come off looking pretty pushy and maybe a bit aggressive, but that truly wasn't my intention whatsoever. It can be hard to read text without tone of voice and seeing facial expressions and all that, so I understand why my comments came off that way to you.
Either way, I know I could've typed out my replies better in general, I just was a bit too passionate when I read your comment and I let that fiery passion get the best of me, so again I apologize.
I may disagree with some of your points, but I could've just ignored you and simply moved on and you're right on that. But if I really felt the need to reply, I could've just kept it concise and to the point without needing to come off so overbearing with making 6 separate replies and all that, I see that as well.
I hope the show gets better for you and I do understand you've been enjoying it all and still are, just that you're wanting for it to pick things up a bit more and I completely get that.
Before I close out, I do want to quickly mention one more thing and that's about TCW and TBB not being kid's shows. I wholeheartedly agree! Your argument is further supported on Disney+ giving the two shows an official rating of TV-PG which is certainly way higher than Rebels's official TV-Y7 rating also on the D+ site. Kids are strongly recommended to watch alongside adults/parents when watching shows like TBB and TCW, so I agree with that. And even if they were all officially labelled as kid's shows, I'd still be fine with that and respect the shows and the medium in general a whole lot.
Again, I grew up with TCW, same as you, so I also know just how great, immense and full of fun and wonder a kid's show can be. Some of my favorite episodes (and really some of my favorite Star Wars stories of all time) are some of the earlier stuff from TCW too! The Ryloth arc is some very solid, fun as heck storytelling, I've always cherished it and re-watched it many times as well. In addition, a lotta standalone stories are genuinely fun and awesome too, like Trespass! Some adults will never understand and that's unfortunate. :(
Anyways, all the best to you and I hope you still don't think I'm replying to you in bad faith anymore. I honestly wasn't from the start!! 🙏👍
@@charmedforeternity I truly do not mean to pester you any further, but....it's been a few weeks since TBB concluded it's first season and I remembered our conversation we had a few months ago, so I'm just curious here. How has TBB's first season been for you now, at this point currently, if I may ask? Do you feel it's a true sequel to TCW now, has it gotten any better, etc, etc?
That Bible Man action figure hits different
That tech helmet Though!!!
For real!!! The tech helmet is one of my favorites of their set

Loved the episode as usual guys! People are talking about solo 2 but personally I’d rather see a knights of ren show or movie (don’t get me wrong I truly loved solo but don’t think that a second one is necessary). Keep up the good work my dudes!
This is the best intro yet!!!
The only radio show I listen too well done Micheal!!
The story mode of Battlefront 2 (the original) for ps2/Xbox original there where an uprising of clones that where stationed on Kamino that went against the empire. Perhaps something similar will happen?
I think in the second half of the season it’s going to get very intense. I’m here for it. Still looking for a Hunter black series.
NO LITERALLY i love ahsoka and she was a huge part of my growing up but i feel like we're seeing her too much as well!! i think the only other times we should have seen her other than tcw is rebels & i personally wish we hadn't seen her in mando cause like u said we get it LOL

Off topic but Michael is that your bible man action figure on the table???
It is!
i feel like the show might be failing because they're slower episodes and we have to wait a week in between each one. It's feeling like a show that would have been better to have released all at once so we could binge the whole story. Once all the episodes are out, and you can watch it all at once i feel like the slow pacing will feel way more fitting.
