Yes, I told him to get a lift a year ago... and do the staircase and get a rubbish chute. They should have been some of the first things to go in.
He's really seeing the benefit now!

Once you have experienced how it is to work with professional tools/machines there is no way back.
I bet when this is finished, and with all of the tools, experience and know how, he must find another ruined chateau.
@@isobelkirk6602 I’m not sure but I don’t believe he had the funds to be buying much or possibly interest from manufacturers to donate some of this equipment. Regardless whatever they can get to make the job run more smoothly he’s trying to bring in, including that new stronger winch a few months ago.

I don't think he would have put the effort into the garden if planning to flip, or do the roof in the historic manner. Those are both long-term moves.
@@kristinb5121 well the garden looks nice and it really looks clean when there are no plants or bushes interior the chatteu so moving them backwards looks nicer

The roofline on the wings creates shoulders. The peaked roof over the center is the head. What an amazing visage the chateau possesses.
But it looks so incomplete without the dormer window framing. What a shame that he’ll have to back up and retrofit these windows because he didn’t take the time to frame them in as he built the roof.

Just love to watch how fast this is coming together! I hope you’re going to live there when it’s done. I know you could make a lot of money selling it but, it won’t be the same as watching you enjoying all your work! Not to mention the beautiful garden.
It's not easy selling property in France. A similar building in pristine condition can take years to sell, and for a lot less than in other countries. I suspect it could be very difficult to shift, for a number of reasons. Unless another Dan comes along.
I dont think or can’t imagine Dan selling it, he is emotionally invested big time
I hope he puts in a lift from the basement to the roof so he can still live there in his old age.
@@LaReynedEpee Dan definitely wants to live in it, he said that several times in previous videos but mainly he wants to make a place for children again as it was in the past. Not as a refuge but as a sort of summer camp for disadvantaged kids to have some holiday adventures... hence the large car park... he wants to give back to the community.

You know Dan, when this chateau project is done ... I feel like your " next career" could be as a cinematographer. These videos are - so well composed, framed, narrated. You're really talented at that also. Absolutely one of my favorite channels on yt.
I'm not a negative person but when I first started watching I thought no way! One of the most hard working guys I have ever seen. Hard working crew as well.
The progress this week has been amazing. To see the 2nd part of the roof come together so quickly is awesome.
There is only few videos when l dont get emotional over those progress dear Dan, and helpers , you are all amazing!!!!.your determination Dan is what l admire the most, NO complaints NO winging, just pure joy. Have just been through hurricane Beryl.
Lots of damage, still no power and not for a few days. No propane, gas is hard to come by.
Found some gas, after waiting in line for hours.
Am sitting at a parking lot in my cold car, catching up on Dan’s videos.🥰😊😉A few days without 🤢🤢🤢

I fixed my late ex-mother in law's roof in Alvin TX ( south of Houston) years ago , Dan may have heavy days , but he has no +100 degrees F / + 37 degrees C at 100% relative humidity to deal with .. Hoping your electricity is restored soon so you can create ONE cool down room at least ..
Hope your situation will get better soon and that you will be able to charge your phone so you can keep on watching Dan

France is very lucky to be so beautiful, therefore attracting mad Brits (and some others - but Brits are pretty prominent) who are willing to sink blood, sweat, tears and money into renovating French houses, mansions, chateaux, etc.
Part of the attraction is that property can be so cheap compared to the UK. A building on this scale would be completely unattainable for most of us here.
