I find this fun to watch - McEnroe is fairly close to my age and seeing him play this is making me think of taking up the sport. I was a tennis player in my younger years; and while not even close to McEnroe's level ( I taught at a country club after college) - I think it could be better exercise than golf and I believe I could pick it up. I'm surprised at all the hate of pickleball , but I remember a lot of my friends made fun of tennis back when I was growing up. At least the friends that were on teams or played my sports - Boxing and Football. Regardless I stuck with it and had many fun years on the courts. Not to mention - I played tennis into my later years and boxing and football is young man's game. I met a lot more girls in tennis than I did with other sports - not interested in that now (married 32 years).
If you enjoyed tennis, I'm sure you'll love pickleball. The fundamentals are the same, just different strategies because of the ball speed and court size. I'm 36, fit and athletic. Many of the people I regularly play pickleball with are in their 60s and 70s. And while I have a clear advantage in speed, they still regularly give me a run for my money by playing smart. There's a ton of depth to the game if you want to find it. But if you don't, it's still super fun to use an object to hit a ball back and forth. And since it's so popular, it's very easy to meet new people from all walks of life.
I'm a 58yo tennis player who was a skeptic and resisted playing pickleball with my adult kids for the last 2 years... now that I'm playing and am having a lot of fun with it the last month or so. I picked it up quickly, play twice a week and am trying to hang with a large group of 30 year olds who are really good. Its great cardio for me and I'll give my myself another month or two before I think I cant start winning these kids
It's fine for middle aged people, but seeing fit, young people stand in place batting it back and forth until someone makes a mistake out of sheer tedium is ridiculous. It's just fundamentally wrong to have a ball that resists being hit hard in a sport so the strong don't have an advantage.
McEnroe was a serve and volley player, while Agassi was a baseliner. Agassi had the best return of serve when he played. In pickleball, scoring winners off the return of serve are almost nonexistent.

How much fun is it seeing all my favorite players play pickle ball.
Borg v McEnroe since the 70s. Agassi great player. Mac remembered for his outbursts. Joy watching our legends. I miss connors, lends, cash, borg, edburg and borg. Buster Motram could serve.
You know I look at things like this… As a human being practice makes perfect… Nobody’s instantly good at anything… I for one have practiced guitar for 20 years… I used to sit in my car and practice vocals one to one and a half hours a day seven days a week for almost 2 years straight… I may not sound the best, but I’m making the best of what I can make a sound out of… Tennis is like the same thing… You get your cleats and you hit a ball… Your hand eye coordination is obviously number one but practice makes perfect and those regards… It’s the same thing with anything as a human being
wow..this is such an awful spectator sport..... and even to play it... it does not compare to PADEL... not padell, but padel.... holy moly, this is truly for old people... u hardly need to move.. Oh well, each to their own
Are you serious? It is a sport. I was a tennis player and I wack the ball. I hit a lot in the back court. If you play like I do, it is a sport. Tennis is being canniblized by pickleball. Get used to it.
Why so much pickle ball hate? I’ve played on tennis courts next to tennis players. Tennis, 1st serve out, second serve in the net, next point, first serve out, second serve in and return in the net. Meanwhile our Picklball doubles have hit 40 volleys! I don’t expect it to take over Wimbledon but it is a workout and a fun sport! Stop the hate!
@@glennbeauchamp8726 reply because they are real sports that require athleticism and skill. it is terrible to watch these great players slumming it. no one would watch this without the celebrity angle
exactly what i used to think but its supe fun to troll and hit side-under spin moon lobs and play cat and mouse kitchen points. its fun to troll if ur a tennis player
frankly speaking I'm in Asia and badminton is big here and much more exciting to watch. Pickleball is getting popular here too I guess because it's slower and less athletically demanding because after work people want an easy fun activity just to sweat and socialise. I guess at least it gets people off the hand phone for a couple of hours a week it has it's usefulness

When I played tennis in high school Johnny Mac was my hero.
Four old men playing pickleball, looks like my local tennis club

I am impressed with James Blake’s skills.
He was a top ranked tennis player. Higher ranked than Sock...
Mack can still move really well.
"Where retired tennis players go to die."
😂 well it's better then dying on a couch
its where they go to love life
Sock is holding back 50%
Bullshit
is not Tennis, is silly pickyball.
Sock is Mo
Pickleball is such a fun time.
this is all there is to it. It's a pimping good time.. also..."fuck you Van Wilder"
Awesome!
A matter of time before it’s in the olympics
The Special Olympics, maybe.

I love this! July 2024 USA
When does McEnroe go McEnroe!?
C'est quoi ce cirque ???😂😂😂😂
Le VRAI jeu se joue sur un terrain fermé avec des parroies sur lesquelles la balle peut rebondir !!! 😉
Mais oui!!! Padel!!!!!
Didn't expect Sock played this poorly because he is playing professional pickle ball now. Blake actually is the best pickle ball player among these 4.
He’s taking it easy. He hits a lot harder.
id play with them any day. our battles where im at r way more fierce lol
I didn't see Agassi being "stunned" at all....clickbait.
Agassi looks really healthy
He was a world champion! Of course he's healthy
@@anonymous-t4g9rThat’s not always a given.
I think Jack Sock was holding back.
The first hit in the game by Blake was illegal. Cant take it in the air after service.
Facing a drive or an overhead from Sock...I would need a fresh pair of scivvies.
Padel is 300% more fun
wow..this is such an awful spectator sport..... and even to play it... it does not compare to PADEL... not padell, but padel.... holy moly, this is truly for old people... u hardly need to move..
Oh well, each to their own
Padel is much better
Stuns??? They only hit it to the other dude.
Jones Timothy Moore Carol Allen Scott
Lee Ronald Harris William Lewis Anna
Why rally scoring?
Bogus! this is dubs. not head to head. Proves nothing.
Pickle ball gotta be the least exciting sport to watch.
Sorry that net play is boring.
Davis Lisa Lee Sarah Lee Jason
Boring!
this a game for kids?
Such boring to watch.
Pairing should have been Mac/Sock vs. Agassi/Blake
How did the sport get the name Pickle Ball???
The inventor named it after a small dog named Pickle if I remember correctly?
Becausetwo gays invented it
Pickle boat races.
old washed up has beens
Andre and McEnroe playing pickleball!?!?! I thought the were both heterosexual... wow
Sorry, but that is just ridicolous...
Can not figure out why people watch or play this sport. Or game. Not really a sport

@STEVE-lk2ft wohhhh I can see you folks take this serious.. Ok it's all about having fun! Pickle onward!
You watched 👀
Can not figure out why people make such dumb comments
These guys have no idea how to play. 😂😂. Blake has no clue. Shame that they get all the camera coverage.
Meh
Taylor Kimberly Wilson Donna Martin Mark
White Sharon Brown Angela Harris Laura
…this is just embarrassing. Garbage ‘sport’ for people who can’t play tennis.
Not as embarrassing as your comment that oozes stupidity.
Why dont you say this about table tennis or badminton.Pickleball is a totally different sport than tennis . Dont get your bias.
