It will downshift from any gear all the way to 1st. Used manual mode a lot for the winter and I do have a rt challenger so I can confirm it does downshift automatically if you don’t yourself
I think its better to keep it off the gas just for a split second just so you don’t wear out your clutch and transmission. I’ve driven my dads 14 charger rt with the paddles and I learned to let go of the gas on my own. You get a jerk from the car more if you have it in the gas

Thinking its the MDS solenoids, or just upgrade fuel injection. But am going to do trans filter and fluid change tonight, after watching this video.

Do you keep your feet on the gas when hitting the downshift paddle or is everything needs to be done with foot on gas. I know for the up shift you don’t have to let up of the gas in between shifts. But when you down shift is it the same?
Onces your down shifting let go of the gas a little. Depending if your coming to a complete stop or if your on the high way just trying to go faster. Cause if you keep your foot on the gas while down shifting it will just redline.
all it takes is hustle and motivation man, u finna get that Charger. Also word of advice try to find a wholesaler who sells to used car lots. Cuts 25% of the price already, also look for cars with damage to the seats which isn’t unfixable damage but bad enough to bring the price down a lot because fun fact the seats are easy to fix and u can use that money u save to get even nicer seats on the interior. My Charger was 43k miles on it mint condition except one seat was messed up. Cost about 14k plus transport fees. You got this lil homie
I barely hit the redline think it hit about 5600 rpm and started noticed a kind of high pitched noise when I accelerate it only lasts for like a second. Seems to only be at low speeds. Scotty Kilmer did a video on it called “if you hear this your transmissions bad”. Think it’s a loose bearing in my transmission. No check engine and the car still shifts and runs fine as far as I can tell but I don’t like that noise ☹️
@@nickaprea4632basically double tap the gas pedal like you would the" a "button on the video game for a double jump but the second tap you hold the pedal (obviously to continue to accelerate). That's the easiest way to get you to understand it👍🏿
The car actually protects itself from damage when your In manual, for example if you try to downshift to first gear when your at a high speed it won’t let you, to protect itself.
Does all this stuff apply for a 2014 charger rt? I have a 5 speed in mine and I know the 2015+ models come with an 8speed. Will my paddle shifters automatically down shift down to the lowest possible gear for that speed? I'm trying to get my roll racing going lol
You don't have to, it's not a manual were you have to or you will destroy your transmission also known as power/money shifting. Your burning up stuff in your transmission when you power shift in a manual. A automatic doesn't have a clutch in it, clutch plates yes but it's not a actual clutch that you need to shift... Automatic transmission are operated by a computer, even when your in the "manual mode", some transmissions will shift up for you in that mode.
You can chose which you want to do in the sport mode settings. Automatic is always available but you can turn off the paddle shifters if you don't want to accidentally hit them.
Ive got the same Charger R/T and color. Does driving in sport mode, even in automatic, does it turn off cylinder deactivation? I know driving in manual does. Great video!
Bro when I switched to m mode on gear for the first time it was like on 8 then I missed it up and left it on 2 or 3 as I remember and I switched back to d and parked my car and left it like that is it okay ? Sorry for the long message
Well usually when u down shift you’re letting off the gas to start braking anyways . (If you’re a beginner) I wouldn’t recommend hitting gas while ur downshifting cuz it could cause u to redline because the RPMS will already be 4-5k RPM .

Did you type that question out wrong? Do you mean clutch not break? There is no clutch pedal in an automatic and no you don't use the break unless you're slowing down.

@The OmensDen just keep trying. My beastie tried teaching me but I couldn't get it. One day I bought my own manual car and brought it home on a trailer. My beastie got out the truck and said he was going home and I had to figure it out on my own. Took 39 mins but after that I kept going on my own. U got this🙌🏾
Tip. If you hold the shifter down it’ll put you in the lowest gear it allows so you don’t have to keep clicking from 8th to 3rd when on the interstate

You can also just hit the gas pedal hard and real quick. The car will downshift to the next available gear. No need to use the shifter or paddles
It’ll actually downshift for you automatically when you stop(to 1st gear), if you’re not sure how to downshift.

Mine has a safety feature that will not allow you to shift up if you’re going to slow and the same when you downshift.

I believe these cars have a safety shift if you get to high of a rpm im not sure if they removed that yet
2018 srt has ignition cut when it hits it limit lol

In the older models yes like the 2006-2009 will overheat the car and sometimes overheat the trans but any of the new models are all good

You should be able to, but different shift points because the column shifter is usually a 5 speed instead of the 8speed in cop cars

A manual transmission has a gear box it’s not a manual it’s technically not actually you in engaging a clutch
Unless it a CVT, both Automatic and manual transmissions have gearboxes...
A real manual is more fun. Trust me.
