Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion promises to be the largest and most ambitious expansion that FromSoft have ever released. After having spent nearly 4 hours with it, I have little doubt we're in for yet another extraordinary experience, the likes of which only FromSoft can deliver.

That light-greatsword moveset looks so satisfying and elegant, definitely gonna do a playthrough with it.

Awesome animations and looks rewarding to play
They way the character keeps it extended while approaching the enemy, Could literally hear boss music.
Definitely feels like Miquella’s chosen weapon. The way you hold the sword out while approaching seems similar to how Malenia holds her sword. Like Miquella is imitating his sister’s swordsmanship.

some people said Elden ring is overrated but after I revisited the game I came to the realization that it even surpasses any praise it gets. man Elden Ring is just something special. I'm so excited about the DLC.
Same. Literally said this this morning. I don’t ever want people bringing up BoTW when it comes to masterful open world design. I came into the game again just leveling up a new character and I got so lost finding new things and appreciating how great this game is
Yeah. Like I am a huge dark souls hater. Found the games clunky and I kind of was burned out of 'hard games' (Played mobas for 15 years so you can guess my mental state). Even I bought Elden ring and played like 50 hours. Did I finish it? no. I do I want to play it again? yes.
Its a game, which a known hater (like me) has to say, its one of the best game ever made. Like RDR 2, Wticher 3 level for me.
Overrated doesn't mean bad but yeah I don't think elden ring was overrated as people think, people just don't get how the game works

I'm so stoked, the art direction for this DLC looks absolutely incredible, it's hard as hell to top how beautiful the base game is, but it looks like they definitely pulled it off. And those new move sets, good fuckin' lord. The ones shown off in the video look like they might be the coolest movesets in the series so far, I am so ready.

You don't need to have the most up to date, graphically powerful engine in the world to compete with modern titles as long as your games exhibit some absolutely stellar artistry and creativity, which Elden Ring has in droves. Frankly, if I were forced to choose between the two, I'd take that over top of the line rendering tech any day.
Oh absolutely, it gives me that more gloomy dark souls vibe which I like.
Your Elden Ring Preview from a few years ago convinced me to buy the game (specifically the moment where you're on the lake and the dragon arrives). Elden Ring is easily my favorite game of all time - I can't wait to come back to this vid AFTER I play Shadows of the Erdtree
I was going to go into this DLC with a cool new build, but now I'm tempted to re-spec the second I pick up my first light greatsword or beast claw.

My advice: get all 7 somber max upgrade stones, all 13 regular max upgrade stones, and all 19 respect items. Choose a single weapon to max out, then use it until you find the first cool weapon you see, then respec and use it. Did that for the Dark Souls 3 DLCs, and it was a lot of fun

level multiple characters. got a pure int, pure faith, pure dex character all sitting at mohg in their first playthrough, a NG++ quality build doing the same, and a strength build i'm currently leveling.
planning on arcane after strength. i've redone these characters a few times since anouncement (other than quality, he's my slow-burn caracter).

I want to watch this so bad because new footage + Skill Up talking about Elden Ring is always a good time, but my brain is telling me that I should just wait to play it cause there's no shot I'm not getting it.
I know it's from soft and we should expect it by now but I cannot get over how fantastic the animation looks. That dancing lion looks just utterly incredible and the animations on the new weapons (eg the light greatsword) just look so smooth and dynamic.

@@elipetrou9308 That’s smart, that’s what I did for skillup video as well. You’ll notice that a lot of the video is him not even talking. I just skipped forward whenever there was no commentary. There was a couple moments he was talking about the boss that I skipped past. But I was mostly interested in his overall thoughts. If you just listen you should be mostly fine

Making the "mini sequel" to Elden Ring as a big, and relatively expensive, DLC is a pretty good idea. The devs can reuse the same engine as is, while concentrating on just making new content.

Liking the new weapon types, especially the claws and the bottles so will be interested in seeing are they consumable based or actual throw them freely around type.
Also looking forward to seeing the new spells added, think we saw a new gravity spell briefly in action so hopefully there's something for the miracle crowd (ancient lightning spear finally, please!) as well.
