Mate of mine just payed £106000 for his. Just taken it in for the 1000 mile run in service check and when he asked if everything was OK they said " yes just a little oil leak on gearbox but nothing to worry about yet". I was daft enough to have 2 and both threw out so much transmission fluid I had to have my drive re- block paved. My wife and I used to try and guess the stance of ours in the morning as the air suspension would constantly play up and leave the rear or the front on the ground. When they work they are great but you know when it's getting bad when your on fist name terms with the recovery drivers.

    • @johnmalin1676
      @johnmalin1676 2 года назад +2

They only go wrong because people don't get them serviced correctly. The Majority of the issues regarding the RR, is the air suspension. But, its a luxury that sets the RR aside from the competition, so, if you bare this in mind when purchasing, and set money aside for when you do have issues, you can get it sorted. Plus remember, you can usually still drive the RR when there are Air Suspension issues.

  • @charlesmorgan8440

Sadly my recent ownership experience of an approved used RRS was poor. 3 electronic faults that caused the car to cut out and a diesel leak, combined with a dealer that supplied me with a hire car without functioning aircon and for a weekend only when the car hadn't even started being worked on convinced me that for all the good things, I was going to have to pay a high price in wasted time. So I bought a 21 plate Lexus RX450h, which is more comfortable, just as capable round corners, and hopefully never to become a regular at the dealer. Je ne regrette rien!

Nice video again Matt. Surely Land Rover should be sending out the key boxes, (with the LR logo on them) to counteract the the piss poor theft security. But no, just let the insurance company's pick up the tab for an ill thought out system. I saw a late Range Rover Velar parked down the road last week, probably worth £100000 plus, had a steering wheel lock on it. Something is not quite right is it!

I totally agree with your review. I have just swapped my 2018 P525 Autobiography for a newer low mileage 2020 SV Autobiography P565. This has every option imaginable and is almost too powerful and harder riding than the P525. I can safely say that the P525 is the best and most satisfying car I have ever owned. It was a beautiful Dark Metallic Racing Green with a Tan Leather interior and always felt really special. I have gone for the the 2020 SV while I wait for my series 5 to arrive. Pity about the change of engine from the 5L V8 supercharged to a 4.4L BMW V8 Twin Turbo in the new model. I have really like the 5L V8 , the economy is quite respectable. I think the P525 2018 model is an extremely hard act to beat!

Just worked out I first drove a Range Rover 42 years ago! I have owned them for 35 years. They are the best. You have to put up with occasional sarcastic reliability comments mainly from those who have never owned one and who keep surprisingly quiet when their BMW is in for repair. The Range Rover versatility and driving experience makes it worthwhile though. Nobody does it better - as Carly sang.

Land Rover are capable of making some truly outstanding machines. It’s a shame that they’ve sullied this with abominations like the Range Rover Sport, Evoque and new Discovery, but hey, they know where the money is to be made, and there are a lot of loaded housewives out there.

When pulling a horse trailer in a very old Suffix A back in the 90s when such a thing was worthless, we got about 5 or 6 mpg. Mind you, petrol was 58p per litre at the time. Oh, those were the days. I have a 2013 L405 autobiography 4.4 V8. And whilst it is stunningly beautiful to behold, it's been the most unreliable annoying stressful car I've ever owned. I look at it and think, wow it's amazing I'm so lucky, then I realise what an expensive arsehole it's been to me. Never again.
My two previous Skoda Octavia vrs and Superb Sportlines were utterly flawless. Stick to good cars and not what your childhood dream car was.

Hi Matt great video looking forward to seeing your new car in detail it’s stunning there’s just something about a Range Rover especially a white one beautiful cars that if looked after will do everything you could ever want my white L322 has been amazing even though I would love a L405 I’d find it hard to get rid of if because she been the best car I’ve ever owned hope you are well best wishes ian

I went on one of those Land Rover experiences in Cheshire and took a full size RR through the mountains and rivers, and it's an awe inspiring machine... off road... then I took it on road and I was gobsmacked at just how dull and lifeless it is to drive. It makes a case for being the best of the cumbersome twat-panzers, but best all round CAR? No way.

I have the same car as you. 2020 5.0sc AB. Excellent in many respects except I can’t find tyres and wheels that quite work. I’d never put more than a 20” on. But that leaves a lot of wasted sidewall available. Curious what you fitted to yours.

Coke contains phosphoric acid which dentists use to dissolve tooth enamel. It is addictive because of caffeine and sugar. Look at mo Norman, he took 30 a day and his teeth dissolved. I loved coke but stopped 30 years ago.

Just don't like the L405. It's not a Range Rover any more. Too sleek, too refined, too curvy too tech heavy. If you want a REAL Range Rover, nothing beats the L322. Oh, and it's also about £70k cheaper. Considering what you get I think that's unbelievable value, which the L405 simply isn't.

Buy a late 2015-2017 euro 6 4.4 sdv8 and upgrade the infotainment and hvac screens, costa about 1200 and the aftermarket android systems are better than the LR OEM. You'll save 15k and still have a great car

A year on with the way Land Rover thefts have gone I’m guessing this has lost £30k + 😮. Good news is 2018 onwards there’s an security update due soon from JLR, let’s hope this helps bounce prices back, still £30k + loss in a year is ridiculous

Matt. I really enjoy and watch all of your videos, so a big fan. However, l find any comments devaluing cyclists lives really concerning. I am a father of two and grandad to a lovely little boy and girl and as a regular cyclist l think they would like me on this earth rather than another or in a hospital bed fighting for my life due to being hit by a motorist who has been conditioned by media to treat anyone on two wheels as a low life. So comments like this are cheap and distasteful. Most probably valuing the car rather than a fellow human being. Nuf said.

theft block box (faraday box) only works while its in the box, a common issue is people are now adapting, example they will follow you on your weekly/ daily trip, have 2 devices, one to capture the rolling key code, and another to block the car receiving any code, once they have captured the code they unlock your car and your in and think nothing of it, then once u go back home they can use the code your key generated which was not received by the car so therefor not discarded, and can unlock your car and drive away while your key is safe in the faraday box.
