I've never used anything like this before. But I'm glad that it exists as it's something I have thought about once I get through the series I'm writing. Thank you so much for the breakdown in the pros and cons. It is very helpful!
I also use Puzzle book mastery and there are several things that I do not like in it. 1) When I make cryptograms the program sort them in alphabetic order so it is very easy for the costumer to guess the first word and decrepit the cryptograms easily 2) In the word scramble again they are sort in alphabetic order 3) In word scramble the maximum number of words letters is 15 and only to 12 there is underline which is something that if you do not see you learn from the feedback of costumers. Anyway I still recommend the Puzzle book mastery
Those are excellent points. I find no system to be 100% perfect, which is why I use both, especially for WPGs customization abilities. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts and experience.
Just purchased Puzzle Mastery and discovered that not all words in the list may be used so I now have half of a puzzle! $37 lost. I would not recommend them based on that. I confirmed with their support and they said that was typical for word search puzzles but I did not have that issue with Book Bolt...very disappointing...
I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ll definitely be looking into this further. I understand that logistically it may not be possible for every word in the list to fit into a puzzle, as there may not be any combination that works to fit all the words, but for it to be half the words, that’s something I’ve never run into before. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Keith great stuff, as always. Offhand, do you know which software out there provides the LARGEST size of crosswords? I see some software packages that only have smaller crossword templates; it is my experience that even middle school aged kids can and will do large crosswords, and rather quickly, at that. Thanks!
Just purchased the Word Puzzle Generator. Not super happy with it. No one shows screenshots of the program in action. The solution pages have the letters all justified to the right in the boxes (which don't touch). It looks really amateurish to me if you can't adjust these. Thoughts? Would I have been better off with something free online? I feel like I just wasted $47. :(
I’m sorry to hear you’re not happy with it. I have the full system and am able to modify the appearance of the solution pages. I’d suggest reaching out to support and see if it’s something wrong with the system or a limitation of the tier you have.
Hi Keith, I purchased the Word Puzzle Generator using your link and was wondering how do I add a background-patterned scene, e.g., snowflakes or Christmas trees to the downloaded .pptx or .pdf file like I see in other Christmas puzzle books on Amazon. I have looked everywhere for this info to no avail. Do I just need to spend some time on Powerpoint? Please help! Yikes!
I believe there is a level of Word Puzzles Generator where you can add in background images. If you don’t have that level(or if I’m incorrect about there being this feature) you can use tools like PowerPoint, Gimp, etc and add in background images.
@@KeithWheelerBooks Thank you so much! I’ll check out your recommendations and I appreciate your quick response! Love your channel and keep up the great content!
For paperback, it should be fine, though I haven’t personally published any puzzle books through them. My suggestion is to try it out and purchase an author copy to make sure the paper weight is thick enough.
If you're looking for something that allows for different trim sizes, I'd suggest Instant Puzzle Generator. If you're looking for something a bit less expensive but limits you to only 8x10 trim size, then Puzzle Book Mastery would be a great choice for you.
Specially, I want to start with the one that explains creating word search puzzles. But, I don't mind if you send any ebook that explains, in addition, how to make other low content KDP books like sudoku, maze, crossword etc.
I do not currently have an ebook that teaches how to create puzzles, that said, I do have numerous videos, as well as a course, that teach step by step how to make them. (Note: the course focuses on more unique puzzle types, like hashiwakekaro, Reverse Word Search, etc)
Oh there are a lot of them. Here are some that I recommend: Instant Puzzle Generator Word Puzzles Generator Puzzle Book Mastery Kidz Puzzle Mastery Instant Maze Generator Hand Drawn Mazes Simply Maze Crazy Mandala Crazy Simply Cut Out Crazy Print It, Cut It, Solve It And a whole lot more. Plus there are new ones coming all the time.

You’re very welcome! Best of luck to you!!!
Objective review with pros and cons! I loved it. And I love this channel, too. 🙂
Thank you for your kind words! We love you too!
This will go nicely with a puzzle course review I'm doing in the future!
Awesome!

I can't access the website for the word search generator; when I click on the link, it says there is a typo on it. So I can't purchase the software.
Which link are you trying?
I just buy both
🤣 I hear ya. I do the same.

Word Puzzles Generator has to he most flexibility that I know of, when it comes to size options

Can i publish puzzle books on Draft2Digital

Hi. Does either of these two software allow one to input one's own content or do they only allow lists generated by the software?
For the word puzzles, you generate the content and upload it to the software.
@@KeithWheelerBooks Thanks!
You’re very welcome.
I need Word Search Maker. How do we proceed?
If you're looking for something that allows for different trim sizes, I'd suggest Instant Puzzle Generator. If you're looking for something a bit less expensive but limits you to only 8x10 trim size, then Puzzle Book Mastery would be a great choice for you.
Do you have an ebook that explains it all?
Can you be a little more specific? An ebook that explains all of what? Creating Puzzles? Self-publishing books or something else?
Specially, I want to start with the one that explains creating word search puzzles. But, I don't mind if you send any ebook that explains, in addition, how to make other low content KDP books like sudoku, maze, crossword etc.

What Are these tons of software options out there?
Oh there are a lot of them. Here are some that I recommend:
Instant Puzzle Generator
Word Puzzles Generator
Puzzle Book Mastery
Kidz Puzzle Mastery
Instant Maze Generator
Hand Drawn Mazes
Simply Maze Crazy
Mandala Crazy
Simply Cut Out Crazy
Print It, Cut It, Solve It
And a whole lot more. Plus there are new ones coming all the time.
@@KeithWheelerBooks Are any of those we haven't discussed (e.g. Mandala, Print It...) free to use?
