My mum used to make mandazi when we were growing up. She learnt from her Tanzanan friends but we never mastered the skill. I tried these two days ago and they were just perfect.
I cooked chapo for the second time in my life using ur recipe.... Lemmie tell you!!!!! Chapati just became the easiest thing to cook....am now a new subbie
I gave up on making chapoz after several disappointments. But seeing all y'all saying you managed after watching Chef Raphael...I'm game, I'll try 👍wish me luck 🙏🙏🙏
Hello Chef Raphael! Today I searched randomly that what is mandazi! than I found your channel! And now I really liking your cooking style and recipes😊💜 love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
I learned making mandazi exactly as chef Raphael from my mum back in my lower pry school. Today I rarely measure anything. I do it bila stress and they're always yummy.
Chef Raphael you are God sent..I tried this perfect recipe today for the 4pm tea....I made Mandazis and Donuts using the same recipe.. doubled it.. they came out perfect...all family members including Mom loved them...May God bless the work of your hands...
Cooking maandazi has never been so easy. I never knew how to do it growing up coz I had elder sisters who did everything but now Chef Raphael has made me the best cook more than everyone in my family. Thanks very much n be blessed.
@@ChefRaphaelThank you I followed your recipe and I've cooked Mandazi twice. The second attempt was better as I gave time for rest. I thought to ask is Self raising flour better than using plain flour? I dont have access to chapa mandazi presently. Also do you recommend using warm milk or at room temperature to give them that softer texture
Just prepared these for tomorrow's breakfast. Soft, fluffy things they are. I used 4tbsps of sugar and they are the right amount of sweet for us. Thank you, Chef.
May God continue to grow your gift Sir what I know is I watch your recipe once and it sticks. My mandazi dough is resting as I write this I just added Cinnamon and I didn't use eggs in mine. All in all I appreciate the simple steps once again God bless you.
Gave it a try today and Chef, these are the softest mandazis I have had in Lord knows how long. Also the first I have made from scratch to the very end. My lazy ass always gets dough done by mama 🤣. Am glad!
My mom made this for us growing up in Ethiopia. The only difference is she added black seeds. I can’t wait to try making your recipe with my daughter 🤗🙏🏾
Thank you chef Raphael for sharing your culinary skills. I'm a Congolese married to a Kenyan and living in London. I discovered your channel a few months ago while in search of the best mandazi recipe. Indeed your mandazi are the best and the recipe is very easy to follow. So far I have made mandazi 3 times and my hubby is so impressed with the results. My first born son who is also called Raphael and his 2 young brothers are in love with mandazi too. I made some today for tea, they ate so much and are looking forward to having the rest for breakfast tomorrow morning. Barikiwe chef

Wow you are the best chef,i watched this tutorial today and i said i must try it out.And guess what the mandazi's came out perfectly😂 Am super proud of my self.
Thank you so much Chef Raphael, I made my mandazi today. Oh boy you should have tasted them 😋😋 they smelt so good, tasted so good. Everyone who tasted them loooooved them. I followed your method but just increased the ingredients accordingly because I was cooking for like 10 people. Also I added in lemon zest, vanilla essence, and I ground my own cinnamon. You can imagine the aroma 😇😇. This is the first recipe that I have got off the internet that came out right. Thank you Chef 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I love this recipe. However i find it more convenient to roll with oil instead of flour coz the flour remains in the oil after frying. While rolling with oil you can reuse the oil longer coz it remains so clean
These are the ones I make. I love them. They're also called half-cake, ama? You can use the same dough to make doughnuts🍩. The yeast mandazis, the mahamris, are a bit more tricky
I was looking for a Madaraka Day treat today and I decided to try this recipe. Thank you so much Chef Raphael for this and many other recipes that you've shared. I love watching your videos and trying then out. Keep shinning!
Chef, I will not be buying Mandazis anytime soon 🙂. I did double your size so double everything except for eggs, I do not like them for baking (just fry or omelette 😄) I also put cinnamon, I measured with eyes 🤣. They came out soo soft and lovely. I have gotten a new hobby. Thanks alot chef.
Thank you, my mom used to make them all time she just passed away, i never learnt from her but now I can follow your recipe .
Sorry for your mom dear.
That is exactly what I just told my hubby .. take heart
Sorry
