Hi thank you I am going to try and make these. Can you say how many donuts can d 400gr of bread flour makes and do you have a recipe for custard cream to fill them thank you . I am from Trinidad in the Caribbean and I love your recipes ❤❤❤
you can make approximately 10-12 medium-sized donuts, depending on the size of your cutter. If you make smaller donuts, you could get more, and for larger ones, fewer.
Thank you for watching and enjoying the video! Donuts are truly a universal favorite. Greetings to Indonesia, and I hope you try making some at home. Stay connected for more recipes!
Amazing-looking donuts! I love your clear and detailed recipe! You mentioned a spoonful of potatoes, a teaspoon, or a tablespoon. Is it cooked and smashed? Thank you so much🌹
I’m glad you enjoyed the recipe. To clarify, it’s a tablespoon of cooked, smooth, and lump-free mashed potatoes. This will help ensure the best texture in the donuts. Thanks for asking!
I’ve made donuts a few times before but I have not tried your recipe. I have two questions, how do you keep your donuts soft and fluffy? After a few hours, mine get kind of stale. Also, when making glazed donuts, how do you prevent the donut from absorbing all of the glaze and leaving behind a soggy donut? Thanks in advance!
The key to soft and fluffy donuts lies in the dough and the frying process. In my recipe, I use high-protein bread flour, which helps create a light and airy texture. Also, I knead the dough until it passes the windowpane test, ensuring proper gluten development for structure and softness…. Frying at the right temperature (150°C to 160°C) is essential. If the oil is too hot, the donuts will cook too quickly, leaving the inside dense. If it’s too cool, they’ll absorb too much oil and turn greasy… To prevent donuts from going stale quickly, you can store them in an airtight container after they cool…. For glazed-Let the donuts cool completely before glazing them. For glazed donuts, prepare a thicker glaze to create a nice coating that sets on the surface… Let me know how it turns out when you try my recipe ….thanks
@@Theapron41thanks for your tips and advice! I will definitely try it out. My donuts usually come out soft and fluffy, but they don’t stay soft and fluffy. I’ll keep you updated!
I love the recipe and I just did it today, at first they were soft but few mins after they got a bit to hard 😢 I think I did something wrong but I followed every step and I was just missing the oil temperature probably I got it to high, please let me know. Thank youu !! ❤
Thank you for trying out the recipe and sharing your experience! It sounds like you’re really close to perfecting it, so don’t worry-this can be fixed! The issue you described is often related to the oil temperature during frying. If the oil is too hot, the donuts can cook too quickly on the outside while remaining undercooked or dense on the inside, which can make them feel harder as they cool. For best results, I recommend keeping the oil temperature between 150°C and 160°C (300°F to 320°F). Use a thermometer if possible to monitor the heat consistently. Another tip is to ensure the dough is proofed properly before frying. Underproofed dough can lead to dense donuts, while overproofed dough can make them collapse after frying. You’re looking for the dough to spring back gently when pressed with a finger.
@ Thank you so much I did them two more times and I added this tips, also bought a thermometer for the oil, and Wow they came out amazing, perfect taste, fluffy. Now I have my small clientela, they love them and first God I have a donut shop soon! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe 🙌🏻 Blessings
Here are some alternatives- 1. Warm Water Bath Method: Place a bowl of hot (not boiling) water in your oven alongside the dough. This creates a warm and humid environment. Just keep the oven turned off. 2. Microwave Trick: Heat a cup of water in the microwave for 2-3 minutes to make the space warm and humid. Then, place your dough inside the microwave (with the water still inside) and close the door. Do not turn on the microwave. These methods should help your dough rise beautifully!
@ If you're using instant yeast, the amount can vary slightly based on your kitchen environment. A good rule of thumb is to increase the amount , so instead of 5 grams, you can use 6 grams. However, humidity also plays a role! If your kitchen is warm and humid, 5 grams should work fine. But if it's cold or less humid, you may want to use 7 grams to ensure a good rise. Yeast is quite adaptable, so keep an eye on your dough and adjust if needed. 😊

Drop a small piece of donut dough into the oil. It should slowly start to bubble and rise to the surface within a few seconds without browning too quickly.
The number of donuts you can make from this recipe depends on the size you prefer. For smaller or larger donuts, the yield will vary. It all depends on how small or big you want them to be! Thanks
It sounds like the dough might have over-kneaded or had too much flour. Check your measurements, knead at medium speed, and adjust liquid slightly if needed. Different flours absorb liquid differently, so add 1-2 tsp of milk or water if the dough feels too dry. Thanks
When I say the donuts “double in size” after shaping, it refers to the second proofing or rising stage. Here’s how it works:After shaping the dough into donuts you leave them to rest and rise again.that makes the dough expand and become airy and fluffy.Over time, the donuts increase in size-about twice their original size-as the dough rises. This is what I mean by “doubling in size.”

@Theapron41 All this I know very well and this can done after the purchasing of yeast and after using it, I'm asking how to know yeast we are buying is active or not. Using procedure is the second step, when you have bought it.
@FaridaAslam-u4w - To check if the yeast is active before using it, dissolve 1 tsp of yeast and 1 tsp of sugar in 1/2 cup lukewarm water (35-40°C). Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. If it foams and bubbles, the yeast is active. If not, it’s inactive and should be replaced. Always check the expiry date and store yeast properly in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.

Thank you for your question! I haven't tried making this recipe with gluten-free flour yet, but it’s definitely something I’d love to experiment with.
