thank you so much, I am an aspiring producer and I have always had problems with making chords to fit my melody. Your channel has helped me so so much, thank you so much.
voice leading is a great way to ensure your chords will fit and sound smooth. You can avoid sounding generic by using inversions in the notes which arent leading and by using suspended chords instead of just using the regular chords you can naturally lead to. So in other words you can use a chord that wouldnt normally lead into another by making it or the following chord a suspended minor or major.
Dude.. Holy shit. You literally make a video on every question I ever have about music producing. I'm so glad I found your channel, by FAR my favorite music producing channel. Keep it up yo!
Super helpful, thanks! Videos that can help with finding chords for a melody written is much helpful
Please please make a tutorial on how Headhunterz makes his epic chords in detail. also melodies from chords!!!! 😁😁
There really isn't a method to make good melodies :p making good melodies is just fucking around, inspiration or recreating other melodies in another way
Distort a supersaw and use a new instance of the plugin for every note that is played simultaneously, that way the notes don't interact with each other and don't distort each other and voila you have the headhunterz chords :D
Atique Kudchi There is a theory for epic edm chords called 3.4 from the root to the next 4 steps (in scale) and from the mid to the top note 3 steps ;)
Notiflux vps avenger a synth from vengeance has disortion per midi voice :D cool stuff
hey could you explain this in better detail?
Exactly the kind of tutorial I was looking for. Thanks!
for real me too!!!
Thanks a lot!! This was KILLING me, but it's actually so simple!
Anyone that can keep up with his pace and the way he "explains" what he is doing in this video does not need this video.
This melody is in C minor
Fouad Saad cool

Zen, do you have an email where we can send demos to?
what if i wanted to do the opposite? example making a melody of a chord progression.
What was that you said about how Avicii does it? I didn't get that.
While most of your videos are interesting and good, this one was great!
You saved me man❤️❤️❤️
You van also use Tuner for adding chords
bro you kill me i swear. that 10 second rhyming session about c's and d's and melo"dy", as you can see lol.
is this about base line or chords? I didn't hear chords playing
Cool dude thx
Are you on speed? Look into decaf
Hey can I send you an audio track and u find the chords and melody did it?....I'll pay
My method is doing the Bass that seems to fit the Lead better, after that, I take the bass notes and kind of convert them into chords...
can you so a video about scales and how it affects a mood?
using major scales is usually more uplifting, while minor scales can be darker
Just use whatever scale you like..in my opinion scales dont really effect the mood in fast edm melodies.. it effects the mood of classical music or songs where the chords are really long and bright
A tut on making hq risers please!!
outro song?
thanks
Sound designing tutorial for making supersaw breakdown lead in sylenth 1
We want to learn more things like that.....🎹
Sick!!!
I dont know why, and i didnt even learn music theory.. i am doin it by ear :D
Ragunde same
a musical ear is the foundation of music. they just invented chords, scales etc, so they can document what they hear because in early days there is no way that they can record what they feel thru music. but now it's a different era, we can do music from our mind straight to a recorded output without even touching a traditional instruments because of computer technology. so it's gift to have a good hearing and a knowledge of computers.
@@retsmej I disagree. Writing/typing down the notes helps you keep in mind the whole structure and motifs. Its like writing down a story in a text editor as opposed to a speach-to-word program. Its good for regular takes yes, but good quality music takes good effort.
very useful
how did you learn all this scale n chord stuff?
understand about music theory
Easy way go search PGN Piano Music Theory course on YT
I do not know chords other than maj and min , I make chord by taking any notes of the key of the track ,and it work good ,so will it work or I have to all ways do in professional way plz help
can I make my own chords?
Give some tips on making cool breakdowns. I have already made a drop but I'm not getting ideas for a cool breakdown.
Can you do a tut on how to make crunchy claps like deorros bootie in your face 2nd drop?
I want to se more videos like this
thank youuuuuuu
Hi Zen World, I'm late so someone else probably already said this, but what you were describing was not Voice Leading. Voice Leading is the procession throughout a progression involving the least amount of movement. For example going from C major to F major using voice leading would be C, E, G, to C, F, A. Notice how F isn't in the bass.
Also, when you were talking about the chords, you would say things like D# when you meant E flat. Although technically by sound they are the same "note", it would be the incorrect enharmonic spelling to say D# in this case. G minor has two flats in it's key, B flat and E flat.
I'm not saying this to poke holes or make fun. I truly think you should learn about this concepts since they would be wonderful for aspiring producers to learn on your platform.
It is in the scale of G minor but can i say A major scale ? Because A major is relative scale of G minor.
Nice
can make some music in fl studio
*Still, I'm not able to make chords for my melodies*
This'll help: 0:00
Nice Mike Williams melody.

I am doing it by hearing with my ear, no theory! D.
ultimate music theory
PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW HEADHUNTERZ MAKE HIS CHORDS AND MELODIES!
I know you have talked about reverse engineering presets to learn a more methodical way for sound design. It would be great if you could show how to reverse engineer melodies/chords so that we have a more methodical way to make melodies. We would know what makes something catchy. Just what are we looking for in the melodies. I'm not one of those people that can randomly put in midi or "play from the heart" and sound good.
BAMBINIIIIIII
Maël Micoud we both commented the exact same thing
first
fucking THANKYOU
PRESS CIRCLE? DONT YOU MEAN ZERO?
BAMBINI
Internet has ruined the D
melody is used in one spinnin records song
bambini - mike williams
"my melody starts in the D/
i can also go to the C/
as you guys can see"
you should make a song out if this :D
I like how fast you are talking. If you wouldn’t be producing music you could be a seller at the hamburger Fischmarkt! (That is meant as praise!) 😁
now can move forward
Sounds more like a major scale
