This was an amazing cook off! So many talented cooks in this group! I'm sure selecting winners was difficult! I love your FB groups! I'm here for it! 😊 Btw, great video, looks yummy!
Thanks I did it a bit different but close kidney beans and bueno red fired chiki and all three color peppers We shall see on for ten ..love it I will joint your group😊
I usually put some corn chips in the bowl , throw the cheese on top , then ladle the chili on top so the cheese melts , then glop some sour cream on top of that. But , I never put celery in my chili.
20 min is enough for beef ? I just got ninja deluxe for Christmas and trying to learn how to do stuff. I did 2x rib eye steaks in broil mode for 16min, 8min on each side and OMG it was soooo delicious.
@Doug and Lemme Just 2 cents worth. I did fish the meat out of the liquid with my big round silicone ladle with holes, poured the liquid into a bowl, and I was glad I did for 2 reasons. First as you indicated, Doug, I didn’t want to overcook the meat, but also I was amazed at the amount of fat that was there! The browning on the meat is really to increase the flavor, but what I did to kick the flavor up, since you add water, I actually add a t of Better than Bullion to that water. Uh huh!
Really a nice colorful looking chili, but too thin for my taste. Chili should be thick and hearty. If I'm not in a hurry, I prefer to slow-cook it for a better consistency. I'm doing a lot of freeze-drying, and soupy stuff is a lot harder to dry than thicker chili. When I reconstitute chili I use beef broth instead of water, so I get a really robust flavor. And you can do your chili, the way YOU like it, for a fraction of what commercially freeze-dried food costs.
First chili I’ve ever made and it’s incredible. You are the man Doug !

Love the recipe. Do you think it would work with ground turkey?
Yes it works fine with turkey.

Chilli is also good with corn bread
Yep. Ever tried covering a pot of chili with corn bread batter and baking it right on top of the chili?
Doug , That's not all oil . Most of it is water from the meat . Let it cook way down , then you can start to get some nice color on the beef .
Ahhhhh....my bad...just didnt want to over cook the meat either
