Johnny was before my time and yet I still miss him. Watching as many of these clips with him as possible! Jonathan Winters is my favorite guest.
No, Buddy Rich is ‘
Same! I watched when I was super young but love it!
Johnny is irreplaceable. This was exceptional tv. I wish I had been old enough to appreciate it then
Everyone's life (as far a t.v. goes) kind of revolved around this show.
The day after Johnny's show, people would be like, 'did you see Johnny last night' ... ? It was part of the fabric of our lives. Always fun, always interesting. Johnny was Johnny and he was everyone's friend, uncle, brother, dad ...
There was a rumor going around, back in the day, where his show was touted to be the one t.v. (as we called it back then - lol) show, that if it were possible to know, his show was on at the moment of inception for many babies across America.
Good old days .... thanks for helping me to remember quieter, more gentle times ...
@@blueeyes6852 awesome
Got in on a lot of Johnny Carson back in the day. There hasn't been anybody since who even comes close.
i mean this is 1979 so the show went on another 13 years with Johnny and I’m assuming since you said I wish I had been old enough to appreciate it then that you were old enough to remember it during this time so I’m guessing you were probably 7 in 1979 meaning you would’ve been 20 by the time the show ended in 1992 and if I’m right about that that’s more than enough time to appreciate a show lol.
Two geniuses. There will never be anyone like Johnny Carson again. Treasure the surviving programs. Thank you Johnny Carson RUclips for posting these.
I always looked forward to watching Johnny. I have some great memories of settling down in our recliner to enjoy 90 minutes of Johnny and guests. There’ll never be anyone like him again.
Would love to see more Albert Brooks clips from The Tonight Show! What a great performer and comedic mind.
Yes good movies
Brooks is one of these comedians that made Carson laugh up the wall. You could tell Carson very honestly enjoyed him.
Even as a young French Canadian back 30+ years ago......
I miss the man and the honest TV stuff that existed just a few years ago.
Thank you for sharing the amazing life and story of Johnny.
I used to sneak out of bed to watch Johnny Carson in the early 70's. I was only about 12 or 13 years old but I loved him. I watched him when I could til the end.
RIP Johnny. The best of the best.
Albert been around a long damn time now. He was always one of those dudes everyone would recognize but not know his name level of fame but he's finally getting to be recognized by the 80's & 90's kids.
Johnny Carson was the best!
Albert Brooks is genius. What a gift to all of us.
And his brother aka Super Dave/ Funkhauser.
watch Lost in America and Defending Your Life.
Brook's is a genius!
5:12 I’m no lip reader, but Kris Kristofferson seems to just roll off the lips. Ha Ha
Thank you. I thought it strange that they would bleep his name out. I mean, I don't think Kris would give a damn about what people think of him in this respect.
Johnny Carson was the best Late night show host
"it's heroin, Johnny" 🤣😂😁
Albert fookin' Brooks! Genius!
Gone those golden days ... when Simplicity was unabashedly shown and broadcast happily 😍🌈
I've always loved Albert Brooks.
Never missed a Tonight show
Today late night hosts cant hold a candle to Johnny!
Why would they mute Kris Kristofferson? 5:11
He's calling him a drug user.
@@dustinolvey8877
Yeah, that Mary Jane--it's just heroin, ain't it? Gotta wonder why Kris' good friend Willie never had the same worry about his image...
@@haeuptlingaberja4927 It’s probably the DVD people that did it.
Johnny is a legend . Nighttime isn’t the same anymore .
I don’t even watch nighttime shows anymore .
Albert Books brother was the late Super Dave Osborne AKA Bob Einstein.
When did super Dave die? I can't believe he's dead
@Vidkid you are correct Sir
or so the germans would have us believe
Thank goodness we have proof and video footage to show there were actually good old days! No one would have believed it!! Nobody has matched or topped JC since he retired!
Albert Brooks real name is actually Albert Einstein.
And his brother is bob Einstein, aka Super Dave Osborne!!!!
6:27 Time traveller Albert did a Mel Gibson joke some 25 years before it happened!
GREAT STUFF.... ALWAYS WITH US.... BOOM TIME!!!
Johnny Carson was a Gem 💎!!
2:42 Why did they censor who Albert Brooks opened for in Seattle? 5:09 they muted him saying Kris Kristofferson.
I think it must be because Brooks was implying they were smoking marijuana.
because he says the headliners manager gave him the super strong weed - maybe you were smoking too when you watched, and could not understand what you watched...
@@rjp801 you obviously didn't watch the whole clip. Both time stamps show he is saying performers name. The 2nd one is Kris Kristofferson because it was easier to figure out after the jokes about it.
No at 509 he was talking about alcohol and how Kris was loaded at the trubador
@@penguin44ca Yes I know. I was asking why Albert was muted while Saying "Kris Kristofferson". They censored him saying his name like it was a naughty word.
More entertaining that every Colbert show combined
Joseph wambaugh was an LA Detective who wrote some books that were turned into movies.
"Its not...." lol
This guy looks a lot like Super Dave Osborne.....;)
Born Albert Einstein. The late Super Dave's brother.
ok johnny team... when you gonna upload clips of sharon tate's interview(s) to your channel?! she's so popular currently, and her thousands of fans would LOVE to see some more footage of her!
We get this request all the time and this show does not exist. Most of the shows before 1972 were recorded over to save tape so what we have during this timeframe is extremely limited. If we had it, we'd definitely post it.
@@johnnycarson Aw, that sucks! I totally understand. Regardless, thanks so much for letting us know! Means a lot. And thanks for the wonderful content in general! Miss Johnny a lot :)
If you take one of Johnny Carson's old suits and prop it up on a chair and put a microphone in front of it, it's still about a thousand times more entertaining than the crap that's on now.
I used to run down that road in Santa Monica
This is so badass
Remember when late night talk shows were adventurous, funny and worth watching? Johnny, 80's Letterman, Conan (especially when Norm Macdonald was a guest). Those days have long since past, leaving behind a series of cardboard cutouts more interested in virtue signaling and political posturing than advancing the great tradition of innovative conversation and no holds barred jokes/sketches.
This is what happens in the American system when all these assholes do not want us to enjoy life and want a future civil war to benefit from. I think its time to move out. Both sides are scum.
Well said.
@@tomlis123 Thank you. 🍻
Unwatchable now. Just horrible political hacks pushing a shitbag, insane agenda.
"Don't worry, DON'T worry. That's it. It's done. There's no pain. It's over. It's over."
His real last name is Einstein..seriously look it up. Albert Einstein.
Best talk show ever man
Odd they keep cutting out when he says Kris Kristopherson.
Muted name at 5:12 -- Kris Kristofferson? Censored to avoid libel, I guess.
Like that drunk would ever see this...
You delete the name of the comedian from 50 years ago? Seriously? What's the deal with censoring of naming?
This is the way the show aired and how it was recorded. We'd love to have an unedited version but it doesn't exist.
@@johnnycarson Sorry to go throwing brickbats retroactively.
I believe the name that was edited out was Kris Kristofferson. Since this was an unverified story at the time, the network edited the name out because they didn't want KK to potentially sue for libel if the story wasn't true.
@@clarkpatterson753 NBC was really gun-shy, I forget that previous eras were more trepidatious than we are today.
6:15 he predicts Mel Gibson with shocking accuracy.
Imagine watching 1995 stuff in 2021 🤣😂😂😂😂
Something about Albert Brooks I always liked. Kind of the down trodden almost quiet way he did comedy and then burst out. Just always liked his style.
Albert is the brother of Bob Einstein. Better known as super Dave Osborne. His birth name is Albert Einstein.
Wtf 😂😂😂😂😂 i missed a looooottttt😂😂😂
Free the weed. Free the people.
Love Johnny. .
But a 99 second add to get it?
Why was the audio cut off for the person Brooks was opening for ?
Society has become too sensitive.
Albert Brooks predicted Mel Gibson’s drunken anti-Semitic rage. How about that! 🤗
Why are they bleeping out Kris Kristofferson name
Wonder why Kris kristoffeson's name was deleted
Albert B very funny
His real name is Albert Einstein. Brother of bob
Albert had really nice hair here 🙍
What happened to the Drew Barrymore interview? It was up yesterday.
Why bleep Kris Kristopherson?
Thinking the same thing apparently a couple of celebrities.
Not sure, but this is how the show aired and was recorded.
@@johnnycarson what can you tell us about the other side Johnny?
Tell Don Rickles I miss him.
@Vidkid it was about him being an alcoholic and drunk at the trubador
♥️❗🤗
I think there was more open minds then, sad it didn't take long to become controlled.
He said “ Kris Kristofferson “
Why are the names he's saying deleted out?
I'm not smoking a joint right now.
who's the person that's name is being blanked out?
Ed and Johnny were great together.....Conan and Andy tried....but....never came close.
@appx. 5:11... slow down the video ... read his lips ... Brooks is referring to Kris Kristofferson... 😄😄😄😄🥂🍷🍹🍺
why did they bleep Kris Kristofferson's name? Like anyone cares.
Whose name did he say at 2:43?
Names were being bleeped out. Names like Kris Kristofferson
What song is this?
His real name is Albert Einstein. Look it up!
wtf with bleeping out people's names? lol - was the editor of this video stoned?
Why has this been edited?
Censoring out the names?🤨

wonder if you can find the clip of Gloria Swanson on your show in 1967
Gloria Swanson - Tonight Show - not happening - see previous post from the people that run this thing - before 1972 - tapes were erased 😭😭😠 nbc idiot moron cheapos erased so much classic tape . ,😫😭😭😭😭😲☹️.. unless Swanson appeared on the show after 1972... the only way you will see her on this show...😒😭😭
@@jmason2838 god it's too sad. they really don't cherish what are important in film history. Thx for replying.
2:42 .. opening for who? Frank Zappa??
That's the least likely answer. Zappa was famous for being a sanctimonious prick about drug use, usually while chain-smoking and chugging coffee. Of course, he had seen a lot of good musicians succumb to drug addiction in the 60's, so he genuinely didn't want any of that in his band. Little chance his road manager was openly smoking a joint backstage. To be fair, reading Albert's lips does match up to "Zappa", so who knows for sure.
I love weed to al
This Is 40.
I only smiled, but didn't laugh, till the animal thing at the end. I wonder why?
Very silly
They definitely snorted coke after the commercial, you can tell

Yep...ladies are always first.
Seah Rogan 🐜 got shot on this
Never realized before how much Chevy Chase resembles Albert Brooks, could easily pass for kin.
That first segment Zzzz
Edit: the whole thing
Jew joke was a good precursor too Mel Gibson
