Use greenpumpkin as the base a few drops of the red and some chartreuse maybe the hit of purple in it to. Try this out please I am not able to right now or I would.
Awesome video… funny enough, I’ve actually been playing around with this recipe myself. I’ve gotten very similar results to you although props to you on how close you got! It took me about 2 gallons of plastic to get that close. One thing I have found that helped with transparency was instead of the brown, using 2 drops each watermelon and green pumpkin pigment and adding a little chartreuse to lighten the green and helps with the color shift effect (which also gives you the dark base effect that you were describing) Much closer to your final result but does have more of a brown “tinge” than red. I need to figure that part of it out but I’m getting close! I bet that would be much more workable for someone more experienced than myself.
They all look great but batch 4 and 5 look the best from the video. I have said this before and I will say it again your videos are awesome!! Really enjoy seeing your creations!! Thank you!
@worlds worst fishing you have motivated me to start a small bait business from passion of being an angler. Can you do a butterscotch cream color build because I’m struggling getting it dialed in for a client! You rock brother
Im glad you made this because i dug out my yamamoto 167 motoroil/ red flake. I looked in the light and they look dark purple for sure. Thanks for the vids im going with #2
Great job Chris. I have been in the color matching business for years(auto refinishing), l have made changeable colors in the past.. the way to start is mixing opposite colors on the color wheel creating a metarmerism.
You come up with some amazing lures and colors and patterns. I wish some one would make a more realistic salamander mold for plastics. I used to catch eastern salamanders as a kid and slay bass and trout on them here in va. Now they are protected and can’t use them. Closest I have seen is the bed raider lizards but they are giant and heavy. Any ideas? I custom ordered some tube baits that have eastern salamander spots in yellow and black…
I have been looking for a motor oil flake soft bait from the 80’s and 90’s that had a hole in the front of the bait to insert the weight and hook. It was branded under the Pro Bass logo these things caught me tons of fish and my biggest crappie ever.
I love it ! I made it a couple weeks ago after your told me how and that cherry red goes a long way lol mine ended up looking like cherry Dr Pepper so that’s what I named it but I’ll make some of this again soon! I like the first one you did that is more clear then if you add glitter you’ll see it more
When I started pouring worms I had black an mortar oil ,adding some flake will fine tune the color close enough to be even more effective fineness worms
Question for you, on the grass grenade I get small dimples on my middle one normally I don't have any issues with any other bait. I noticed if I shoot them at or around 300 degrees it helps some? And tips?
Hey Chris random question. I am trying to start a bait making company and want to get into big swimbait hand pours. How would you recommend to package them to keep the tails from bending?
Sweet I tried to make motor oil myself but it was a bust when the MF was out of stock so I got some lureworks it's looks like the motor oil I use to see but I was wondering about a nother ol school color cotton candy I got a bottle of pigment but still not sure on the looks can't find good enough photos of it thanks again learn something new every time I watch keep the videos coming brother
For melting baits and not using plastisol what wattage microwave would be good I have seven hundred what but I did it for 2 minutes and became burnt it didn’t full melt what should I do
Question for ya im looking into getting into lure making and i live in canada. Would storing the plastisol, and liquid pigment in my garage get ruined over the winter? It gets like -30 c over the winter
@@WorldsWorstFishing ok cool didn’t know if it would ruin either of them. Probably would say something on the label too. I can easily enough store them inside too
Question for you, with your open pour swim baits can you make a harness/ is there a harness to make it a line through swim bait. Also can you make a line through swim bait that’s weighted with the hook on the top of the swim bait? Love the videos and your making me want to start doing it.
After checking MFs website daily for the past three- four weeks (placed my order Friday night) the timing of this vid was humorous for sure. Definitely a great lesson on learning the properties of your colorants to be better skilled at ones mixing skills. 👊🔥 But the Little Rascals reference was the highlight reel moment for me, for certain!! 😂😂
great video, very close match. I would liked to see some flakes or laminates using motor oil. everytime I've seen it its been alone. can't wait try out some of these colors.
You have the color ratio right but the pigment to plastisol is off. It looks like what happens when you mix wood stain in a quart of base with the pigment for a gallon. The opacity of the colorant is what makes it shift. Just add more clear to make it more translucent
I think you were having to add too much green because of the amount of red and black. I think if you backed off that red and just put a really small amount in, black too- then it wouldn't take so much green- and you'd have less saturation over all. Just a guess though- maybe down to the type of pigments used- like you said. You got unbelievably close though- that last batch looked really good.
Wonder if the char-lime would be a better option with the cherry red and purple to get the brightness of the chartreuse but some of the lime green color? 🤔
To truly get it right you need a certain type of translucent pigments, but I wanted the video to show people that they can get good results with normal pigments they probably already have
I keep thinking about men in tights, “blood of a hen, a little more blood”. They call me little John, but don’t let the name fool you, in real life I’m quite big. That red is really over powering, did they cure darker ?. That last batch was awesome.
I think you came up with a usable recipe on the first attempt. Im definitely going to try it. You may have also created a second run on MF motor oil 😆 🤣 😂
Yellow and purple will make a brown. Green and red make a darker brown. Orange and black make a brown. blue and yellow make a green. Black and yellow make a green
@@WorldsWorstFishing reminds me of some flukes for South Korean flounder I had bought when I was stationed there. One trip it was literally the only thing they’d eat. I’d fish them on a giant dropshot with a 50g weight in close to 100’ of water.
Here are a few roadmaps for motor oil...take these concepts and refine them if you like!
I wonder what would happen if you remelted the ones that weren't right... would the result of that be close too?
Honestly, I think yours turned out better! I’d had more green color too it , it might look cool to add some hypershift to it and call it oil slick
I think #1 and/or #2 with more chartreuse would maintain a better "see thru" effect.
Lureworks chameleon/ chartreuse/ green pumpkin...
Use greenpumpkin as the base a few drops of the red and some chartreuse maybe the hit of purple in it to. Try this out please I am not able to right now or I would.
That was cool how you showed how the colors interacted & the end result of each effort. Thanks.

With the base color options given, I shall continue where you left off. Thank you for the starting grounds.
A fantastic attempt. I wouldn't have even knew where to begin on that recreation. The last 2 tries where my fave
you really need true transparant pigments, but these are good for what we had
Awesome video man I really enjoyed it.
Wow dude this was a great video. Would be fun to have enough plastic to play this way man. Was fun to watch the process 👍

plenty of lizard molds to choose from
Marling worked with epic bait molds and made an epic mander mold
I like culprit's motor oil in there ribbon tail, it's a translucent chartreuse/gold plastic with gold flake, looks really good under water
Great episode. I just ordered me a couple bottles of colorant.. I guess now I need to buy an injector and some molds...
You should!

How about Transmission Fluid or my favorite Anti Freeze
Question I have a bottle of lurecraft clean motor oil is their something I can add with it to get that color change affecte
Great Job, Again ! You'll still catch fish on any one of those Worms though !
Nice videos.. can you also make a video about the color salt and pepper please for worms.. thanks.
Your first one was the best out of all of them by far. I didn't care for the M F Motor oil at all.
I think paprika recipe with green would be spot on
Hey Chris random question. I am trying to start a bait making company and want to get into big swimbait hand pours. How would you recommend to package them to keep the tails from bending?
I'm also curious
The BEST way is molded clam shells..very expensive tho.. regular clam shells are still a very good option
Thanks what size would be good to fit all of the angling ai open pour sizes
And where would I order the packaging?
Alibaba is a good place to start. Your dealing direct with the manufacturer
How do you think a little light green hi lyte would’ve done with it?? For that greenish tint behind the major colors

LW makes a good cotton candy
Great vid enjoy all of them. Let’s try the blue crawfish
Haha you know your stuff!
I know it won't help the opacity, but how about dialing back the green a touch and adding a little ZTG?
For melting baits and not using plastisol what wattage microwave would be good I have seven hundred what but I did it for 2 minutes and became burnt it didn’t full melt what should I do
what if you used tiny cut up mono in a worm it may give a cool affect. keep up the great work!
That last one is fire!!
Video idea... how many baits can you make with a bottle of pigment. Crazy, I know!!
A TON!!!!!

@@WorldsWorstFishing I think your first attempt was pretty close. Ever think of using brown pumpkin, violet and green chartreuse as a motor oil

Which AI mold is the trick worm?
add a little bit of Opal Green dead on plastic color to it and I think that might make the green more pronounced.
I've never seen a powder Pearl effect in motor oil but that might look really good
You should throw a little bit of black flake and a whole bunch of silver flake in your motor oil color and call it trashed engine.
Thanks so much! Appreciate all your videos I was one of the lucky ones to have a little stash of MF motor oil before someone broke the internet 😄
Hold it like your true love hahaha

Eyeballs of a crocodile!!!! Haha they all cured the same..colors don't really change during cure imo

Try wwf10 for dead on
@@WorldsWorstFishing thanks. Hated to be "that guy", but every little bit helps!
I think a green chartreuse dye that people use to make a glass clear chartreuse color would make that chartreuse pop.
Can you try to or just answer this in you next video will gereal dollar glitter work in baits?
Yes, but they generally will bleed and curl faster from the temperature of the plastic

Could you make a video on how to put the lure eyes on the England AI swim bait mode because I just can’t get them to stay on
Loctite gel

I’ve always wanted to use “motor oil” worms. Maybe I’ll try your recipe
Give it a shot, once you dial in a recipe you'll always have it
I wonder what the first three colors mixed together with some green pumpkin would look like.
You should do a remelt with the ones you poured
Awesome video learned a lot. Maybe you should try to go changeable blue craw. By the way what’s the secret ingredient?
not sure Jeff wants me to tell
@@WorldsWorstFishing but I thought you said he doesn’t use it anymore
@@WorldsWorstFishing if you wanted a yellow effect instead of green what would you use?

Well I've never seen a motor oil have a powder effect, not to say that it would not look amazing
@@WorldsWorstFishing but the colorshift would definitely be there in the hypershift colors. I don't think it would take much

If I'm thinking of the right bait maybe try hog salad molds

Do u sell these?
#2 needed 6 drops of purple and perfect
Yellow and purple will make a brown. Green and red make a darker brown. Orange and black make a brown. blue and yellow make a green. Black and yellow make a green
I've heard of that color wheel concept..guess I should take a look at it one day
