What baits you make with a gallon of plastisol???
If I had the time and the molds (so I could shoot more than 1 at a time) I would go completely NUTS on rip raps, those things work on near everything.... they need to make a 1.5 for crappie and I would be so golden.

Just one question I got when you do this is, do you vacuum the pot out when it’s all heated up?

Awesome, just curious if I missed it but about how long does it take for 1 gallon of the plastic to be ready in the pot? I'm wondering if nuking it and adding it to the pot would be quicker? Just based on nuking 2 cups at a time I think that would be around 25 -30 minutes or so by microwave to get 16 cups.
That's a lot of baits for just a single gallon!! Those are very efficient molds with not melting down the spru's. Great video Chris! Cheers brother!!

Im trying to get into making my own baits, gonna order uour starter kit next week hopefully... it will give me something to focus on when im not in my "Bass Hunter" little boat fishing... Im 10 months clean, a recovering drug addict, and I dont need an idle mind !! Fishing, preparing to fish, and refurbishing my boat has been my #1 source of rehabilitation.. THANKS for the videos, and sorry for all the unusual content in this one..lol.

Chris, I enjoy your videos, and thank you for being very thorough in how you explain what you're doing. I've started buying all the materials to get started on making my own baits since I do a lot of kayak bass tournaments. I live in Keystone and visit Tallahassee quite often. Wanted to see if it'd be possible to maybe meet up the next time I'm coming up, I know you're busy but it would really be beneficial to get to talk to you and get your expert direction. So im looking at getting started into plastics, could you direct me to a video that covers the different additives an sents, im in alaska an fish here are mostly salmoniod or halibut so im looking to make some hoochies and large 9 to 10 inch tubes as well as smaller 3.5 or 4 inch tubes an worms, but ive noticed that most of the making videos dont delv into the additives. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Good luck and tight lines 😊😊😊

This is a great challenge! If you have a variety of molds its great! I make a years worth if baits for myself on a gallon.

Question, when baits are done curing and placed in the bag with worm oil, some legs of a lizard were broke off in the bag after few weeks to possibly few months. Would you know what causes that? Thanks buddy glad your back.

I have a small question about how and where you get custom molds. I have to replace all my plastic lures after a house fire. But since Manns no longer makes it ( Mosquito Hawk original version ) , I would like to get a mold made. Since all I can find is the newer styled ones and not going to pay 40.00 for a pack of 10 to 15 year-old baits. The last time I bought some (20 years ago), they were kept in a climate control location but lost everything ( 20 two gallon bags) of them.

Like the color Chris... But I'm wondering, have you ever tried doing a 2tone A R? I mean you start with one color to fill up the claws then stop and add the second color to fill out the body....

Looking at runners why not design them into a stick or ned bait? You could still re-melt if wanted.
Unfortunately it doesn't work like that
