Smoked macarel has a strong and distinctive flavour that cooked chicken lacks. Maybe if you'd add a bit of mustard and smoked paprika? Otherwise you'd risk it being very bland, with all that mascarpone.

I made that Butternut Squash soup - I don't have an oven, of course, so I simply pan-roasted the veggies. It was sumptuous!
Love her and her recipes. Bought a few of her books too. But I have to say, that polythene bag was so unnecessary.

Love your cooking but absolutely hate garlic as I am allergic to it. Makes it difficult here where I live to eat out.
I wonder if the pate would work if the fish was replaced with cooked chicken or turkey
