Thank you so much! A lot of videos out there are so many clickbait videos where you can tell people really don't know what they're talking about. I hope more people find quality content like this.
Glad you found it helpful. I appreciate the comment.
Very precise and clear explanations every step of the way! I just got my SM7B and GoXLR. Watched other videos, but they seemed like generic recommendations for the settings. The attention to detail for this mic in particular was so great. Thanks so much!
GoXLR inbound and I'm moving from the MV7 (purchased it literally 1 week ago) to the SM7B due to the richer, fuller sound.
Great to get this information, it really eases my entry into the world of microphones and overall broadcast audio.
I'm actually not a streamer at this point, but might be. Either way, I'm spending a lot of time on Discord,
and I do various recordings on the side.
Thanks! And I do hope your channel gets the growth that it deserves. Great stuff.
Hi Jordan. One thing a lot of people struggle with is frequencies and how getting them into balance gives you room for other sounds whether gaming or music mix. A great explanation in layman's talk. Well done. Most enjoyable. Greatings from Australia.
Glad you found it helpful!
I'm not an audio person at all, and this was extremely helpful - especially the tip about changing the noise gate attenuation - it sounds so much more natural to leave it around 50%-60% rather than the 100 I was doing!
One of the best tutorial/guide channels out there, extremely straight forward and clear in each tutorial
excellent video, was setting stuff up for stream and took some recordings and noticed that cut in my audio a lot. the before and after recordings from this video were hugely different. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
How convenient that this video came out a couple months before I got this exact setup. Thank you good sir.
Thank you so much. I feel like these settings will be perfect for my streams on Twitch. I love how you have that idea in mind for us Gaming Content creators. This is my big fat thanks!!!! I just got my Mogami gold XLR cable for this specific mic. Im hoping to squeeze every penny out of this mic!!! Thanks again.
Nice! Good luck with your stream!
I definitely appreciated the 'what not to do' demonstration of the noise gate at the beginning, where you put the wrong settings on so we could hear an example. Now if a friend has that problem I know what to listen for. I hope in future videos you do this more often, for example the compressor settings at the end when you mentioned what NOT to do.
Definitely gonna try these settings and tinker with them til it's perfect.
This was insanely helpful. I've been through 3 different preamps & finally got my Shure SM7B to sound perfect with these settings. Cheers!
Great to hear!
Thank you for this video! Just found your channel while searching up this microphone. Can't wait to try out these settings today.
This video was SO USEFUL, thank you!
god damn all these settings made my mic sound so good! thanks for the video!
By far the best guide to this setup, thank you so much, made my sound a lot better!
- me , buys some gear and wonders how to get it setup. Goes to youtube and you are always the person who has shown me how to set everything up on multiple devices so for this, i thank you!
Other people I watched just didn't explain the setting well enough. This made it so I understood everything and I can make personal adjustments and know what is actually happening. Thanks homie.
This was the best vidéo I've watched for setting up the GoXLR with the SM-7B, ty!
Thanks again Jordan!! Your videos are the go too when im having audio problems.
Have a great day and keep up the videos brother!
I have tried tons of RUclips settings, yours are perfect! Thanks bro! You got my subscribe

Great video, short but not too short to leave me stuck with more questions than what I came with!
Such a great tutorial man, the why behind every setting is really helpful to know what the hell we are doing haha. Cheers! P.S. I applied this exact settings and definitely got an improvement on what I had before...

I love your channel man. My fave for audio actually. Every audio issue or new piece of tech I get... I can find out exactly what I need to know right here! I just picked up one of these boxes as a (hoped) upgrade from focusrite but all the GoXLR is dead videos had me really nervous. All BS of course... just like all the idiots that said same about the sm7b.
Keep up the great work! Thank you for sharing your great knowledge!

Yep 100% made mine perfect sure I twiked mine like a little literally almost the same settings but made so much of a difference what he shows
Thank you bro you help me so much. Love From Germany
Can’t thank u enough bro 🤍🤍
Thank you so much this is exactly what I was looking for. I have strogle trying to find good setting for my mic and the go xlr . Is there a way to make the lights on the mic chenel to move as you talk?
This is what I needed I got my goxlr and I couldn’t figure out why my sm7b was lower in volume then when I had it connected to my Scarlett solo
very gooood vid!
GREAT VIDEO THANK YOUUU
Super Helpful, I was hopeless for my new toys until I found this video.
Glad I could help!
Super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
this guide seemed like a good one. i fking hate that dislikes got removed so have to read bunch of comments to see if its a good video or not. but i feel like this one was the right one. good job!
Bro thank you so much fr
Thank-you so much for this video.
I followed another tutorial and found my sm7b sounded garbage. I Couldn't figure out why everyone sounded so good.
I followed your settings and I believe they are crisp now.
I would love to know if there's an easy way to give it a tiny bit more radio bass settings wise?
Thank you for this!
My pleasure!
Very good this Video my men, make a goob job, thanks for the help
Well....this was easy but great stuff. Thx
Thank you my mic sounds a lot better without that cutting out of the audio I hated that so thanks!
Thank you for the informative and well put together video!
I do have a question though. Would any of these settings change depending on whether or not you have a cloudlifter?
The gain is the only setting that would change. You'd need to use the Condenser Mic setting and use less gain in the first step. Everything else is the same.
GREAT video! subbed and bell is on!
Awesome thank you!
thank you, that helped me a lot!
Glad it helped!
@Kettner Creative This is a great video! Thank you so much! Do you recommend similar settings if you're going to be doing vocals as opposed to just talking while playing videogames? As a guy I'm a little worried about losing the richness of my mid and low vocal range.
Hi, great video. however I wonder that we still need to add filter for mic in OBS/SLOSB for gain, noise gate, compressor etc. after follow your setting for GoXLR ?
After all the hype surrounding the SM7B is dying with the launch of the Shure MV7, I think a video on the set up of a GoXLR with a Shure MV7 would be awesome! Yes, that is my current set up, but I think with your clear explanations you could kill that video!
For sure. We'll probably do some of these shortly.
Thank you!
man youre so wholesome
normally i skip through videos but i watched every second of this one
can you or someone in the comments tell me if the mini version does the same job?
i dont need all these extra buttons on the right site tbh
Almost. The mini gets rid of all of the FX, but like you said - no big deal for 90% of people. The mini doesn't have motorized faders, led scribble strip, or a DeEsser as well.
Out of all of those, to me, the deesser is probably the most important thing that's missing.
We have a full video with the differences here: ruclips.net/video/TCOl2tlPq58/видео.html
Thanks!
Appreciate the video and have been running these settings for a year. Recently ive been gaming with friends and they are able to hear my ingame audio through my IEMs. Is there anything specific you refommend me changing so it doesnt pick up on these audio sounds and only off of my voice. Thanks in advance!
Should you mess with the switches on the back of the ShureSM7B if you’re using the GoXLR?
Great walkthrough! I couldn't believe how much better I sounded going from a poorly tuned Podmic to a SM7B with your walkthrough. What setting on the bottom of the SM7B do you run? I noticed mine came default with the flat setting.
I keep my microphone flat.
@@kettnercreative good deal. Thanks!
thx my guy
Hey Jordan thanks for the tutorial but quick question idk why but I think you sound better in the go xlr mini tutorial. Any reason why I’d think this? Was is like the fine tuning settings or idk. Anyway you could help would be great. Thank you.
yo thanks for your help you are sooo wooww bro!!
All non-audio background RUclipsrs and streamers should watch your setup vids and give you a big fat thanks!!! Great stuff thanks so much!
Watched on of your videos today as well! Remembered seeing your logo character
