  • We catch some more CSX action through the Center of Framingham MA. This time I had my camera with me, and I was able to film the train from my car while in traffic.
CSX B731 passes through with some nice horn action and a pretty big train, enjoy the video, and thanks for watching!

The reefers and scrap train that would come up from Framingham and pull out of the Beacon yard here in Boston now comes straight out of Framingham. They operate on the Grand Trunk line only a couple of days a week now as opposed to almost daily when the yard was still open.

@ TheGomes412 The job that is from Framingham that services Boston is CSX B721. They have two (2) large, main customers: NEP (New England Produce Co.) in Everett, they get UP (Chilled Express) reefers loaded with produce, and Schnitzer Steel, also in Everett I believe. However, unlike most scrap metal customers, I think Schnitzer IMports scrap metal, whereas most places EXport metal. I think they do something with it. Also, they are also served by Pan Am too, so they get switched by both railroads. No idea why. Also, there is one remaining customer near the abandoned Beacon Park yard, Houghton Chemical, who B721 serves as well on their way to Everett. I think their siding is right off the commuter rail line. And to get to Everett they use the Grand Junction running track, which starts near Beacon Park. It goes through Cambridge also. Not sure if they have any customers/work to do in Cambridge. Also, this past week the Circus Train was parked over there in Cambridge behind M.I.T. Pretty cool train!

Nice video! Will this be one of the locals to still use the CSX yard in Boston?
