I knew we were going to try Jollibee for the first time in Maui, and once we landed we had to go there for lunch! I've seen a few of the famous Filipino Fast Food restaurants on the west coast, but there are none in the midwest where we live, so this was our first time trying Jollibee!
We loved the chicken! It's so good they call it chicken joy and it earns the title being crispy and juicy. Amazing! The chicken sandwich also followed through being the best of all fast food chains. I'm sure it would win a chicken sandwich war any day!
The big question is, would we like the spaghetti? Not your ordinary spaghetti. The website describes it as "Our unique spaghetti topped with Jollibee’s signature sweet-style sauce, loaded with chunky slices of savory ham, ground meat, and hotdog." It seems like some people love it and others don't understand it. We LOVED it! It was fun and different, certainly sweet, but it works!
The peach mango pie is fried, crispy and amazing! Loved it! Courtney liked the fries, comparing them to Burger King and I could pass. Neither of us was a huge fan of the yumburger. It might have just been over shadowed by the chicken!

As a huge fan of Popeyes, I finally tried Jollibees spicy chicken yesterday and unfortunately Jollibee is now my favorite fried chicken. Their drum sticks are a little bigger and the winning factor for me was the seasoning in the meat and not just on the crispy skin and surface of the meat like the others. If that's not enough, dip that chicken in gravy and my taste buds exploded with greatness.
Popeyes would be my second favorite too! I’ll get to dip the chicken next time!
Popeyes isn't that good more breading than chicken itself imo you guys got to try pollo campero.

I admit I told Courtney that we HAD to stop at Jollibee while we were on Maui. I was just lucky that we landed around lunch time. We did this before heading to Haleakala N.P. #priorities 😅 Best fried chicken either of us has ever had AND the spaghetti was a huge surprise! What would be your favorite??
Hey Ladies, the jolli spaghetti are normally for kids. Spaghetti, sweet banana ketchup and hotdogs... Kids favorite. For adults just order palbok fiesta. Rice noodles and shrimp-garlic sause are basic and comes with jollibee with minced meat, slice of egg, some shrimps and pork rinds as topic.
The chicken,.... is one of the best worldwide. Dosen`t matter if it's a burger, filet, chicken leg or in special meals.
The burgers are very different to each other. Yum-, Deluxe- or Aloha Burger... Because there is a philosophy in jollibee: Every people should have the chance to got to Jollibee. Dosen't matter if you have much or less money. Jollibee is for family, young people, hungry people, rich or poor people or other groups. Thats why the prices are so different, like the burgers or some menus.

They opened a Jollibee not far from me and people who knew about the chain traveled hundreds of miles to eat there. I haven't been there yet but the chicken sandwich looked really good and had my mouth watering...lol.

If you are having chicken Joy, dip it in gravy the taste will change on you 😊😊
In the Philippines, there's probably a Jollibee store not far from anywhere you are.
But for fried chicken, I would still go for KFC.
For burgers and fries, it's either McDonald's or Burger King.
Nothing beats the Jollibee sweet spaghetti, though. It's unique.
Do the overseas Jollibee stores also have the Burger Steak with Rice meal? This is a beef patty or two with mushroom gravy sauce and steamed sticky rice. It's my personal favorite!
I regret watching this at midnight, the way you guys eat and describe the food just made me extremely hungry in the middle of the night during a rainstorm.

@@LauraOnTheMove yes please do. Lucky for some places there is adobo rice, we dont have that in the Jollibee here in the Philippines, though we can cook it at home.. If you have halo-halo in your area, try that too but make sure to mix it all first before taking a spoonful. Halo-halo means mix-mix

At my advanced age……I would have to do the grilled option but that chicken looks much less pounded and processed compared to other chains! The chicken crowing in the background was absolutely EPIC!!!

I recommend getting the palabok (will come with calamansi or lemon juice to squeeze over, mix well!), spicy chicken WITH gravy, it's a must, and their pineapple quencher!

@@fiossi I was stuck in Philippines for 2 months, just got back to USA. I was craving pizza and spaghetti, every place I ordered from the red marina sauce was always full of sugar. Most all of the food in the Philippines is either full of sugar or full of vinegar, you get a soft drink and it 10x more sugar than USA, even buy a loaf of bread and it's full of sugar, no wonder so many people in the Philippines have diabates or high blood pressure.

Most of the popular soft drinks are imported from the US, and not all of their breads are "sweet", unless you're only eating pandesal. Also, "most people"? LOL. Most people in PH, are living below the poverty line and cannot afford junk food. I'm not sure if your baseless response came from only seeing the tourist spots in PH, but I can personally assure you, that "most" people there are starving.

They don't serve or have sisig or crispy pata in USA, may find sinagang at a Filipino restaurants, but they are very few of them in the USA. Only where they have a large expat population and still very few. Americans in general will not eat filipino food since it low in quality

The halo halo there's have a ingredients like beans, leche flan etc. And if you buy the "halo halo" try to mix it and taste it you will never regret it. God bless to the both of you.

I tried Jollibees for the 1st time in Las Vegas 2 years ago - chicken (spicy) delish - my favorite is the Palabok noodles - one is opening in MI - I did not know it was so popular

The standout burger from jolibee is the Aloha Burger
Some people like the Aloha Burger, it has pineapple and bacon (at think it's bacon) in it.
Most react/ors tried dipping the fried chicken and/or fries in gravy. I'm a ketchup kind of guy.
They also say our spicy chicken are on the mild side, well it's spicy for me.
The Palabok is a hit or miss for them. I like it.
The recommended drink is pineapple juice, perfect for the summer heat.
Halo-halo is complicated, it's basically shaved iced and parfait, you have to mix all the ingredients like a slushy (hence the name of Halo-halo, which means mix-mix), incorporate all the flavors, and each is different depending on the ingredients. I'm to picky to like halo-halo, so I settle for Banana-con yelo, which mostly condensed milked shaved ice with sweet chopped bananas.
speaking of spaghetti you cant find or taste tomato on it bcoz they dont use tomato sauce JOLLIBEE spaghetti they use BANANA sauce thats why its sweet..
You should try also the Aloha Yumburger, Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich, and Pineapple Quencher, they are very good. If you dip the Spicy Chickenjoy into the Gravy, it will taste much better.
I’m still sad we forgot to get the pineapple juice! And next time I’m going to dip for sure!!

Try the Burger Steak Rice meal. This is one or two beef patties in mushroom gravy sauce served with steamed sticky rice. It's my personal favorite!
I'll add it to the list to try next time! My family had a similar dish growing up but we would use mashed potatoes instead of rice.

When you go to Maui your get the crispy cream donuts, crispy thin beef jerky, and crispy fish tacos. 🤤 where is the gravy that comes with the chicken?

For me it’s ok to spend money like that as long as quality of the product you’re getting is worth it for your satisfaction… I think $35 worth of Jollibee you bought is worth it because of the deliciousness and quality of it sa excellent.
