When using the pure hail cutter spam style against afflicted monsters I found a big problem: Afflicted monsters have just too much health and the dogs would put down their chains way before the monster was down.
This build and switch skill combination solves the problem by just using both playing styles in a single build so you switch tactics when is more convenient.
The target is a level 190 Afflicted Mizutsune
I feel like this is a Thanos moment when you abandoned this setup in favor of the full HC one, saying it was faster than this and stuff. But in the end, it lead you back here to this.. lol
It is faster... but has a time duration issue.
In my case instead of 1 monster hunts I preferred to focus on getting Coins and Royal Essences over AR so I did afflicted Furious Rajang, Valstrax and Apex Arzuros quest and farmed quite a nice quantity of Coins and essences along with a still pretty decent pace of AR grinding. It also comes with the benefit that I fought Valstrax a lot so I got materials for it when the update drops and learned the monster moveset so I only need to learn the new Risen moves it does.
So when the update drops I will only need to worry about the Risen gem since I can get any MR rare monster material with Coins and proceed to Qurio craft a lot.

I moved to another country and stopped playing or almost a month. I'm trying to reach at least Anomaly level 145 to unlock the shellig levels before TU 4, I'm at 130 right now.
I'll copy this set while I get the mats I need, and then adapt it for other weapons I want to use like the Scorned Magna and Chaos Gore or Seething Bazel. I'm still kinda bad at coming wiht mi mixed, specialy with the random aspect f this endgame system, so thanks for your build videos

Nice! I've been using the same switch skills hail cutter and ground splitter. Ive also been using no wirebug recovery or extended do to ground splitter usage times out longer than when a wirebug recovers and with hail cutter the recovery with the 1 bug is nice. The reason I have no evade extender is cause of reverse blast dash and blast dash. I have all damage dealing skills and lvl1 of intrepid heart and lvl1 Defiance, with this set up I've been testing it on anomaly lvl200 with gore magala, furious rajang, apex azuros with 1 faint and 2 max hunter limit, I hunt solo and with followers I have an average time of 25mins completion. Pretty nice to do that without any of those skills. Lol I'm trying to make scorned magna GL the optimal gunlance 😂
I’m still using wide shots. I’m also finally ready to increase my shot to 8. Also, man. Normal shot is still not my thing but man it does look badass.
I really hope they implement a new update that cuts down the RNG rolls.
I have read they are introducing two new qurious armor methods, let's see if gets any better.

I can't find any info on this online. When does the 3 minutes start? After you hit the monster for the first time
And it seems Blitz scroll only lasts 2 minutes. Is Hail Cutter spam still optimal even after the Blitz Scroll wears off?
And when the 2/3 minute tools are up, how long is the cooldown? If the hunt goes on long enough, would the dogs pull the chains out again, such that we would want to switch back from Ground Splitter to Hail Cutter?

Yes, it is like the umbrella, it is actually the starting weapon of the dogs when you start the game.

How does this build compare to BB if you land redirects often (+ wind mantle) and you land most BBs?
What's your red scroll and blue scroll setup? :v
The difference between scrolls is hail cutter in red and ground splitter in blue, the others are RBD, Quick reload, Erupting Cannon and Blast Dash

The ways you can get heath regen are:
Super recovery dango lvl4
Gourmet fishes
Lvl 3 kushala blessing
or a follower with HH
has Bullet Barrage fallen out of meta after TU3?
Can be used if you dont want to use GS at all.
But now it works against HC .
That's a shame. I took a break from the 1500-2000 uses of GL (my main by far) and switched to shield HBG. After so many playthroughs of the same style I need a break and I don't really like Hail Cutter or Ground Splitter anymore.
BB is exciting though and I hope it gets buffed. The risk vs reward of hitting vs missing I feel should make it the strongest playstyle. Here's hoping it gets some attention in TU4

With Stability upgrades for a slot upgrade on every piece to have some room for quality of life.
As others have said, going faster requires mastering a level of complexity that I am not prepared for. This is simple. In between Bullet Barrages, do the slam/burst/slap/erupting cannon/guard reload combo

Solid content as always though, my Gunlance game has never been cleaner. Now to just keep farming up Anomaly hunts to get my FKG and Scorned Gunlance up to snuff.
True, these monsters have way too many health. It's fine if they have Anomaly-only attacks, but nope. It's the exact same monsters, but they have too many health and hits way harder.
Imo, they should have the same amount of health as the original monster + 1/4 of it, but keep the insane damage. And also, maybe adding 1-2 Anomaly-only attack
I think that they would be better fight if they cut the health but also remove the time they are fatigued.
I feel that the big health blot is to compensate for the cores damage and this fatigue time.
you pass more time doing damage calculations than actually play better.
