I've been using a variation of the boom stick build for nearly 500 hunts and decided to switch it up with a hail cutter switch set. OBviously the biggest downside to using hail cutter is no crit up 1-7 on boomstick build, so I guess it's time to try and rework my build 😈 thanks for the build ideas gamer.
You make a very good point here! Gunlance realy does feel extremely comfertable to play now in Sunbreak. Even high Level Investigations or special Investigations still feel pretty chill, thanks to all the new Skills & Switch Skills that work well with GL.
Bro hopefully you can throw in a switch skill set up for red and blue scrolls and the theory behind the setup, feel like it’ll help ppl that never touched Gunlance the reasons why you went for so and so. Good stuff tho🤙
That's something i was thinking about to recently too, and have already includet it in some Videos ^_^ Definietely going to do that more often now. Though for certain Weapons (like Gunlance) it completely comes down to personal preference and playstyle aside from the few specific Switch Skills I pointed out in the Video. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! 👍🏽
Look I always wanted to try GL but its was too slow for my liking You got my attention and interest with the Heaven Sent/Redirection set, that makes it so much more moveable!!! Cant wait to try it out!
Very true! Gunlance feels fundamentaly different & much quicker/more mobile with the Heaven-Sent x Redirection combo! Add the Reverse Blast Dash Switch Skill and it wont ever feel slow again 👌🏽
@crimsonglow872 Clearly it's not that hard to get Wind Mantle... I'm at 988 Royal Amber essence out off 1761 I'm livid rn... this suck man I hope u got urs
I can build something like this. Is it worth it? This is the main skill. Attack-7 Hellfire-4 Criboost-3 Weakness-3 artillery-3 Evade Extender-3 wirebug Whisperer-3 Blood rite-3 Sneak Attack-3 Load Shell-2 Redirection-2 intrepide Heart-2 Heaven sent-2 bloodlust-1 powder powder-1 frenzied bloodlust-1 Shock absorber-1
The question is gonna be for what playstyle do you intend to use this ? For a general allround Build it's looking good with only 1 thing that is kinda out of place here. On Gunlance never choose ATK Boost over Critical Eye if you have the choice! So if you can, definitely switch those 2! And dont go for more than ATK Boost Lv 4, because there will be better uses for the remaining Slots/Decos than pushing ATK Boost higher.
As mentioned in the Video, you can literally use whatever Switch Skills you want with GL. The only Switch Skill i usualy recommend to always keep in is "Reverse Blast Dash". I change everything else around depending on what i'm hunting, to fit the situation. For example, in the case of flying targets, I use Hail Cutter to be able to dunk them out of the air etc..
You can see wich augmenting Method was used in the Augment Sections of the Video. At the Top of each Armor Piece it says "Augmentation Status" in Red. Below that it shows wich augmenting Method was used.
Yup, one of the Raw Damage Builds from the TU5 Raw Swaxe Video runs Heaven-Sent. Works incredibly well once you get the gameplay loop down!👌🏽 (There might be another one for TU6 coming soon aswell^^)
Sorry mate but I kinda disappointed you're sleeping on guard reload wide shelling build. That one is a completely different playstyle from previous build and very fun to play as well. Especially after wide shelling gets massive boost in damage you can reach 200 damage per shelling attack
Not sleeping on it at all^^ The builds in the Video were based on the interest in Builds at the time after we did a poll on a few different platforms. Sadly the interest in Wide Shelling Builds was very low to say the least.. Wich is why it's not in the multi Build Video here. I find Wide alot of fun to play with, but one of the reasons alot of players seemed not that interested in it, is that mathematically there is no way that Wide can realy compete with Long & Normal. A Wide Shelling Build is on a list for bonus single Build videos though.
Of course both have their utility. That's why you can see me use both in the Backgroundfootage aswell ^_^ 👍🏽 But the fact remains that it's: Block and hold still vs a Counter with Invincibility Frames & mobility, that also does Damage. In terms of alround usefullness Reverse Blast is miles ahead of blocking. (And that's without even factoring in that you can chain the move into a combo & you get free Slots in you Build for not having to invest heavily in Guard Skills). However, I use both regardless 😊
coming from mhw and type whats meta on mh rise on gunlance on yt ...theres no charge shelling ?!!?!!! but bullet barrage looks way more fun even without wyvernstakeblast
Situational. I used to use it alot more, but some of the changes that came along with Sunbreak & the title updates, made other Switch Skills pull ahead, in terms of overall performance. I do still use it from time to time though, because it's definitely not "bad".
The Damage depends on the Target, Weakspots/Hitzones, specific Weaknesses, all your active Skills & Buffs, aswell as modifiers on Apex or Elders. And ofc it depends on wich Weapon & wich Shelling Type you are using lol^^ It's also impossible to say why yours hits harder without even knowing what your Build is & wich Build in the Video you are comparing it to😂 Likely a very simple explanation for it, that comes down to one, or mutiplpe of the factors i mentioned here.
Nope. No kind of Shell or Phial can Crit. (So: Gunlance Shells, Charge Blade Phials, Switch Axe Phials - none of them can crit) Affinity on Gunlance is to increase the phisical Attacks with the Weapon itself. Because Attack Boost also does not increase the Shell Damage. (wich makes the skill nearly useless on Gunlance)
Design ? No clue what you mean. Also HH buffs dont effect shelling damage 😄 So it makes no difference aside from when slapping the monster with the GL.
Nox I just wanna say, with your Builds I get so much more content from the Game. Dont stop and keep these amazing Builds up man!
That's awesome to hear! It's great knowing the content is bringing value to the community, even for Veterans! Thanks for the feedback, Roman!

Oh boy was I waiting for this for a LONG TIME, thanks Nox for taking the time and making these videos for us.
Kept ya waiting huh ? 😄My pleasure, bryan !

Thinking about pick up gun lance on rise
Gunlance always a comfortable weapon too use. A hunt with Gunlance will always be pretty relaxed a d nice! So thanks for the Build Nox.

Wow as always, amazing builds. Just have to wait until the update seeing how I’m on Xbox.
Glad you enjoyed it! ^_^
Luckily the TU 4, 5 & 6 Update for Xbox & Playstation is right around the corner now!
Thank you for your videos, they have been very helpful to me.
Glad you're enjoying the content! ^_^
Thanks for your feedback !
Definitely making the vegeta build
Well said! I see you are definitely a gamer of culture! 😄
played with GL alot on mhr i'd definitelty suggest adding no hellfire flute mod to build is a must have

How long does it take to get good augments (frenzied bloodlust, wind mantle, etc.) without using the skills+ augments
All depends on your luck^^ But luckily Wind Mantle is not that rare on Augments, so it's actually not that bad.
@@YokaiNox Clearly my luck is trash cause this is not working 💀
I lost all my materials tryna get these

Only a hand full of people got it!
Congrats! 😁👍🏽

I realize now it was vegeta Atleast they were related😂😂😂
@@leemurph318 Haha close enough man! 😄If you had said Gohan, I might have thrown a shoe at you though 😂
I know I am in the minority here but Wide is my favorite gunlance type. It it more 'in your face' and 'tanky''.
I realy hope wide shelling gets some major improvements in MH Wilds! I'd love to mess around with it more!
finally, i can try GL.what switsh skill sir?
Of course man! Any time👍🏽
For Build 1 & 3 :
- Blast Dash
- Quick Reload
- Erupting Cannon
- Hail Cutter (or Ground Splitter, both is good)
- Reverse Blast Dash
For Build 2 :
- Blast Dash
- Quick Reload
- Erupting Cannon
- Bullet Barrage
- Reverse Blast Dash
which skill u used in final flash version?@@YokaiNox
@@muhrizkind For Build 2 (Final Flash) it was already answered in my previous comment here 😄☝
- Blast Dash

have redirection on my GL set but always forget about that skill on my set to use, just spamming switch scroll for reloading after BB 😂😂

Yup, charged shelling is pretty much dead in MHR/Sunbreak. The other ways of playing GL just have far higher damage potential now.
