    Great little info video always on point and getting the low down on any new kit, or triathlon Bling that's on the horizon. I used to own a rock and roll trainer much the same principal as this giving you a road feel indoors, way better for being indoors on the trainer. Indoors and imagine your outdoor, lol. Nice bit of kit, not withstanding that unfortunately mine might cost me ever so slightly more than yours cost you, Oh to be an elite athlete, I wish, then someone might send me one? In my dreams maybe, have fun riding indoors with your outdoor vibe. stay safe both see you next time, Much love from the UK X

    Perfect timing! Heading into the Colorado winter and my Kickr, with 10's of thousands of miles on it, is ready for a refresh. How is the sound, my old boy is pretty loud and hoping to knock that down a few Db. You aren't kidding when you say these things just go and go. I bought mine used when it was several years old and I've put a bunch of miles on it since and it honestly works like what I expect it did as new.

      We didn't really make note of the noise at all, so I'd say you'll be fine with it. It's essentially a 2022 model year Kickr sitting on a suspension system, so it'll have the same power feedback, noise levels, etc as those units.

  • @matthiasdumann6327
    @matthiasdumann6327 9 месяцев назад

    I got this reply from Wahoo:
    Hi Matthias,
    Thanks for getting in touch! The noises are completely normal so nothing to worry about. The KICKR has been greased in that part so the wheels move, the grease will evenly distribute over a couple of rides.

    Nice review :) ... originally wrote you guys asking if this was harder on a carbon frame... but i worry to much about that. saw a good you tube by GPLama Shane Miller that says don't sprint throwing a carbon bike attached to a trainer side to side but other than that you frame's pretty safe... unless you decide to pick up the kicker by picking up your bike attached to it ;) So I grabbed one of these to try out and hopefully have less > 1 hr ride pain :)

    Hi Paula, hi Eric! I just watched your clip for a second time. Please excuse me, I don`t want to bother you with my question. But I saw in the clip that you also have a Tacx Neo in your garage. I`ve read several times, that the sideways tilt is more comfortable and not so "cluncy" on the Tacx as on the Wahoo. You both are professionals. What smarttrainer would you prefer riding on? A short answer would be super nice. Thanks! Best regards from Germany, Oliver

    This is so cool, I’m hecka jelly right now, out of the saddle can you really crank the bike side to side like irl?

    • @ThatTriathlonLife
      @ThatTriathlonLife  10 месяцев назад +1

      The motion is really optimized for in-the-saddle riding, in my opinion. If it had enough flex to allow true out-of-saddle sprinting and bike throwing, I think it would probably be too wobbly the rest of the time. You do have more freedom out of the saddle, but if you closed your eyes and sprinted, you wouldn't forget you're inside. But that does depend on how aggressively you throw the bike when you sprint.

    • @ThatTriathlonLife
      @ThatTriathlonLife  10 месяцев назад +2

      The front wheel isn’t locked into anything, so it just rolls back and forth slightly 👍

    Hi TTL team,
    Just wondering if this is genuinely a worthwhile upgrade from the Kickr V6? I am a triathlete and struggle to get comfortable staying in the bars for efforts on it. I know I move around when time trialing so was seriously considering this unit as my hope is that it will replicate the road feel a little more.
    PS my 14 year old daughter has hijacked my RUclips account hence the photo and name.
    Cheers Jason

  • @Jono01

    • @paula_findlay
      @paula_findlay 10 месяцев назад +1

      Yep! We don’t use a riser block for the regular KICKR, it’s designed level so you don’t need one

    • @ThatTriathlonLife
      @ThatTriathlonLife  10 месяцев назад +2

      There's no adjustment in the amount of motion, to my knowledge, but you can swap the squishy feet out for hard plastic feet, which would have that effect on the side-to-side flex.

  • @robfoster5172
    @robfoster5172 10 месяцев назад +1

    • @ThatTriathlonLife

      From what I can tell with our limited time so far, it'll definitely allow more people to hold aero for longer, and that'll pay off come outdoor/race season

    Finally a reason to replace my Gen 1 Kickr with over 40,000 km!
    May I ask how much side-to-side play is in the Kickr Move?

    • @ThatTriathlonLife
      @ThatTriathlonLife  10 месяцев назад +2

      Hey this is Eric. I'd call the side-to-side play "natural" feeling and after a few minutes you don't even process it. You don't need to focus to stay upright or in the middle or anything. If you're thinking about it with regards to sprinting out of the saddle, it's not enough to allow true sprint form, but I think it's really well optimized for seated riding and TT riding.

    Hey guys, I’ve recently got a 12 speed bike and put my bike on the trainer after changing the cassette on the wahoo. I experienced some popping and skipping of the chain, could this be a me problem? Did I do a mistake?

    • @ThatTriathlonLife
      @ThatTriathlonLife  9 месяцев назад +2

      It's possible that the spacing on your wheel is slightly different from the spacing on the Kickr, and you might need to make a "barrel adjustment" to have the shifting happy. Before that, I would confirm that you've got the right brand cassette, and any spacers it might need between the trainer and the cassette.

    front to back seems pointless... I just need the side to side, riding my trainer right now HURTS after about an hour because the soab doesn't move at all and my gooch and hands get destroyed. I need to get one of the boards with tennis balls so I can wiggle around a little bit

    • @ThatTriathlonLife
      @ThatTriathlonLife  10 месяцев назад +1

      I think the little bit of give front and back will actually have more impact than people think, unless one has the worlds smoothest pedal stroke. But we'll do some riding with it "locked" (it only locks the front-back motion, not the side-to-side) and test that theory 👌
      Not sure if you already have a kickr, but if you do and don't have the newer, soft rubber feet, that could help your situation.

  • @peoplepower1272
    @peoplepower1272 9 месяцев назад

    It sounds like you guys didn't know there are multiple motion platforms you can get for the Kickr...some huge and wobbly, others that are compact and efficient. Based on what I see in this video, I'd rate the new MOVE as primitive due to the lack of side rocking motion. It's basically obsolete compared to what's already out there. For sure you don't need to by a new trainer just to get decent motion. Save your money. I'm betting Wahoo is already working on a better version.

    • @ThatTriathlonLife
      @ThatTriathlonLife  9 месяцев назад

      We personally know they exist, (maybe not every option, but some) but never bought one due to the floor space they take up. In the winter, we pull our trainers to the side most days to do a home gym routine, and the giant platform situation would make that a headache.
