Her father specifically wanted her to just be a big achievement and successful and a powerhouse but have no social life no happiness so love. He put her in boarding school away from him and her mother because he didn't even want her to have love from her own parents. As much as she wants Fitz and jam, and vermont and kids once reality hit of her having a normal life she was scared and what do she do she runs. She will never stop loving Fitz but to be happy with him she not ready yet and with her father constantly brainwashing her it don't help.

What's crazy is if she were to marry him and become first lady he wouldve won the election because they were gonna be happy. Remember him having a dead marriage was the reason why he didn't win in the first place why it had to be rigged. She wouldve been right by his side and Cyrus wouldn't have a job cause there would be no place for him. My thing is why do presidents need a first lady? They couldve been married and he stay president and Olivia stays Olivia Pope and assiciates and everything would be great but it's scandal so it can't be that easy.
There was a lot of honest, raw love in this scene... They didn't lie 2 each other, they didn't try 2 manipulate each other. He didn't pretend about Verna, but he was his jealous self in processing Jake. She gave him a new life without being haunted, AND HE HEARD THAT SHE LOVES HIM. She told him that other ppl can't B hurt by her mistakes, & 4 their love. He HEARD that too. I'm disappointed that he hasn't grown enough 2 not run 2 'Mama/drink' when hurt, he has 2 find another way 2 cope with pain.
He shouldve known that Cyrus was gonna say something. Both Olivia and Fitz tell Cyrus their business and it backfires every time. Cyrus has always used their relationship to his advantage. He was never team Olitz because remember some men aren't meant to be happy they are meant to be great and with Fitz happy he has no use for Cyrus because Fitz only listens to Olivia.

I was hoping that Shonda and company will finally let these two realized that in order for their love (and lives) to survive they have to work together. Cyrus and Mellie use and manipulate Olitz to their advantage. They encourage the relationship if it gets them what they want but crushes it the moment it starts to negatively affect their own position of power. It's taking forever for 2 seemingly smart people to see that working together means survival
That season 2 finale shocked everyone, including the cast, they can't say it though. They will lose their jobs. So they have to say wonderful things. We all know she messed up, and that will never take away from the magnificent job/writing that comes from her. However, you cant give us "Woman Scorned" then 222 with Fitz crawling back to Mellie. Cant watch scenes with Joke, just cant. I ff through them all. Olitz is the real thing and I am afraid if she destroys that she is going to lose viewers.

Shonda made a huge deal about the song choice, that it was very deliberate, & we know that the lyrics of ALL their songs (I'don't know Y I love U, UR all I need 2 get by) support the message of the scene. Her reason made NO SENSE. They were going to be fine. She just overreacted about him killing Verna. What's makes me the most annoyed is that the writers have the nerve to have us in the same spot with olitz talking about the could-would-be house with four kids and jam and her making up a fake "reason " why they aren't together. They aren't together because Olivia rejected him. Case and point.
They aren't together because once again she listens to outside people. Cyrus uses Olitz feelings for each other against them. It's Cyrus and Mellie that wanna stay in the white house to keep their place in power and they need Fitz to do so. They could care less about Fitz happiness. He's only running again because Olivia wants him to. Once again every time he tries to make himself available for Olivia she walks away. We find out later next season why.

Harrison surprised me this episode because he is usually very vocal. He looked like he was thinking/processing the events but he said nothing. I don't know about the plan to defuse her dad because she and I was shocked to see him in the car. At this point she doesn't know that Jake was thrown in the hole. But I am glad she chose the Gladiators.
If in fact Fitz is in the bed with Livvie just after her this scene, that was suppose to have been cut out, the scene needs to be released, we only see her in the bed, happy. It's apparent that something happened the night before because she is very happy getting ready for her walk, before the buttom fell out. The press was aware from Mellie's statement of the affair and could have followed him to the apt. that night, snooped and fould out that it was Livvie.
ok.. so I've convinced myself that Olitz is working together and hatched a plan BUT I'm not sure I like the idea of them making a "fool" of Mellie in S3, if only for the sole reason it will make some members of the audience feel sorry for her and hate Olitz. Cyrus didn't just tell him Liv, he showed him the tape. Fitz has the tape that you know nothing about, the world has the tape. Fitz had no right to be jealous about Jake anyway. They had barely spoken in almost a year when that happened, and when they did speak, Fitz treated her like crap. And that's rich anyway coming from him when he slept withAmanda Tanner within weeks of Liv leaving the White House AND, most importantly of all, he's married to Mellie! But, you're right, Fitz has a major flaw. He's too dependent on others to prop him up. When Liv left, he ran straight to Mellie! He needs to stand up on his own.
Cy didn't even check to see if that cytron card is real thing he just destroyed it. I wouldn't be surprised if David has the original for insurance purposes.
As they're talking about a clean slate, I think Liv realises that Fitz needs to win the presidency legitimately, more than he may need her at that point, just as much as her gladiators do actually need her. And the best way of doing that was with Mellie. Notice how she didn't say they were over. She said to put his dad, Verna and Defiance behind him, but not 'them'. I think shes willing to wait the 4 more years for him while she handles her own business.This is definitely not the last of Olitz!

Here's the thing Mellie tried to manipulate Fitz by going on the air telling the world how her husband was unfaithful to her but if you notice she didn't mention Olivia name. Why because she condoned the affair between Olitz. See Mellie and Cyrus they do the same thing when it comes to Fitz and Olivia. Fitz only listens to Olivia so when they want him to do something they have Olivia talk him into doing it but then when they rekindle their relationship and Mellie and Cyrus feel that their livelihood is being jeopardized they wanna now shut them down. You can't have it both ways. Mellie called Olivia to come to a dance in season 1 so that Fitz could sleep cause Olivia wasn't talking to him he was having trouble sleeping but then when Fitz continues to see and connect with Olivia all of a sudden Mellie wants to feel betrayed. Huck reverted back to 752 and Quinn chose to torture Billy Chambers--I didn't see that one coming but she was a natural.

They did an interview (S2, Molly episode) about how they met, Fitz later talked with Mellie about the real truth in how his father brought him to the Tavern & Mellie's boss brought her too.Last episode shows that Liv is gone & her affair with Fitz is public (can't wait to c how Liv is going to fix it). Fitz & Liv previous plan to be the next First Lady is over. He's on his knees to Mellie. If she leaves Fitz it looks very bleak for him so the First Lady does have control right now. what clip?
I don't want to sell it to you (lol)...not to add all the side jobs and her jealous reaction about the affair but the highlight during season 1 was Amanda & Fitz and the accusation of her pregnancy belonging to him, exposure and finally the belief that he murdered her. War declared by Fitz & Cy-->Liv & her team were about to go gung-ho! But it was a lie except the sex act. That was what she had to deal with at that time (all we knew for S1).

The thing with Shonda (that I both respect & dislike) is her commitment 2 a level of reality within fiction. We all know the growth of a personlike Fitz (if he were real) doesn't happen in 4 - 6 months (true rehab/behavior change takes longer), so she draws out the growth of her characters which is painful 4 us as viewers. In S2 Olitz grew a lot they NOW BOTH know they're committed 2 each other. I think in S3 their growth will B in not letting ppl come between them. It's an issue 4 this couple.

There was a lot of honest, raw love in this scene... They didn't lie 2 each other, they didn't try 2 manipulate each other. He didn't pretend about Verna, but he was his jealous self in processing Jake. She gave him a new life without being haunted, AND HE HEARD THAT SHE LOVES HIM. She told him that other ppl can't B hurt by her mistakes, & 4 their love. He HEARD that too. I'm disappointed that he hasn't grown enough 2 not run 2 'Mama/drink' when hurt, he has 2 find another way 2 cope with pain.

He shouldve known that Cyrus was gonna say something. Both Olivia and Fitz tell Cyrus their business and it backfires every time. Cyrus has always used their relationship to his advantage. He was never team Olitz because remember some men aren't meant to be happy they are meant to be great and with Fitz happy he has no use for Cyrus because Fitz only listens to Olivia.

I was hoping that Shonda and company will finally let these two realized that in order for their love (and lives) to survive they have to work together. They encourage the relationship if it gets them what they want but crushes it the moment it starts to negatively affect their own position of power. It's taking forever for 2 seemingly smart people to see that working together means survival
That season 2 finale shocked everyone, including the cast, they can't say it though. They will lose their jobs. So they have to say wonderful things. We all know she messed up, and that will never take away from the magnificent job/writing that comes from her. However, you cant give us "Woman Scorned" then 222 with Fitz crawling back to Mellie. Cant watch scenes with Joke, just cant. I ff through them all. Olitz is the real thing and I am afraid if she destroys that she is going to lose viewers.

What's makes me the most annoyed is that the writers have the nerve to have us in the same spot with olitz talking about the could-would-be house with four kids and jam and her making up a fake "reason " why they aren't together. It's apparent that something happened the night before because she is very happy getting ready for her walk, before the buttom fell out. The press was aware from Mellie's statement of the affair and could have followed him to the apt. that night, snooped and fould out that it was Livvie.

Fitz had no right to be jealous about Jake anyway. They had barely spoken in almost a year when that happened, and when they did speak, Fitz treated her like crap. But, you're right, Fitz has a major flaw. He's too dependent on others to prop him up. When Liv left, he ran straight to Mellie! He needs to stand up on his own.

As they're talking about a clean slate, I think Liv realises that Fitz needs to win the presidency legitimately, more than he may need her at that point, just as much as her gladiators do actually need her. And the best way of doing that was with Mellie. Notice how she didn't say they were over. She said to put his dad, Verna and Defiance behind him, but not 'them'. I think shes willing to wait the 4 more years for him while she handles her own business.This is definitely not the last of Olitz!

Here's the thing Mellie tried to manipulate Fitz by going on the air telling the world how her husband was unfaithful to her but if you notice she didn't mention Olivia name. Why because she condoned the affair between Olitz. See Mellie and Cyrus they do the same thing when it comes to Fitz and Olivia. Fitz only listens to Olivia so when they want him to do something they have Olivia talk him into doing it but then when they rekindle their relationship and Mellie and Cyrus feel that their livelihood is being jeopardized they wanna now shut them down. I don't want to sell it to you (lol)...not to add all the side jobs and her jealous reaction about the affair but the highlight during season 1 was Amanda & Fitz and the accusation of her pregnancy belonging to him, exposure and finally the belief that he murdered her. War declared by Fitz & Cy-->Liv & her team were about to go gung-ho! But it was a lie except the sex act. That was what she had to deal with at that time (all we knew for S1).
