I really enjoy the way you go back and forth between a "story" and the actual information from the video headline, makes the videos very interesting, was surprised to see it's only your first year on youtube as the videos are very high quality, looking forward to watching in 2025!
Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it! Still refining this format as they can be confusing if I go off on too many tangents lol. More to come, happy new year!
I’ve been following your journey since the beginning and you stand out from other “photography” RUclipsrs. I’ve always loved your mix of camera talk and history and I’m rooting for you bro! Also welcome to the Z8! Been using 2 since launch for my wedding business with the z6iii as a 3rd cam and I fully agree with your statements. I never thought you’d turn to it for street tho! Nice!
Thank you Reje - I am very proud to join the Z8 community, you've all been ahead of the game! I like photography more than video, but video lets me tell the stories I'm interested in. More to come on the channel, thank you for watching and commenting this year!
Jack, your channel is one of my favorites on all of RUclips. Your attention to detail, the quality of your writing and your commitment to creating engaging videos shines through every time. Thank you for everything you do! Wishing you much success in the coming year!
Hello Avenir thank you so much for this thoughtful feedback. I am creating the content I want to watch myself, very glad to connect with other like minded photographers like yourself. Have a great end to the year!
Congratulations on 10K subscribers! This is an incredible achievement in just one year, but it truly shows how you have created and connected with your audience through your thoughtful and authentic approach as well and clear vision and style.
Thanks for the kind words and support - 10K is just a number, I’m much more appreciate of the community that I’ve built. There are wonderful photographers on this platform, maybe more than any other
Hello Steven, hope you have a wonderful new year ahead. Thanks for being here since the start, your comments really helped to shape the channel. Stay warm and keep shooting!
Thank you, thank you, thank you...for saying your just getting started! I love your style (a 2nd story built in), demeanor (positive and relatable), and perspective (in it for fun) on photography. Keep them coming, your videos are always my favorite of the week.
Hello, it’s comments like these that keep me going! Always keen to try new formats, very happy to hear it’s finding an audience. RUclips can be a big echo chamber at times so hard to figure out what the audience wants. Thanks for watching this year more to come soon!
Congratulations on 10K subs. It's easy to see why Jack as I look forward to seeing your content, which isn't always the case for many channels. It's interesting to see your choice of the Z8 over the Z6 III, but again it makes sense to me. I shoot with the Z9 and Zf - I chose the Z9 over the Z8 as I shoot a lot of wildlife and the Z9 feels more balanced in my hands with longer glass. I'm looking forward to see what you achieve in 2025.
Hello Chris! It is easy to get lost in the hype of review cycles, the Z8 and Z9 are easily forgotten amongst the noise. They are unbelievable cameras that really redefined the format. Thanks for tuning in this year, more to come shortly!
A year has flown bye Jack, it’s been great to follow your journey. Your videos are highly thought out, flow beautifully and are not all photography, which I love. Thanks for making the leap to share your thoughts with us, can’t wait for more! All the best!
Hello Jan, really appreciate hearing from you throughout this year. RUclips can be pretty isolating at the start, getting feedback and insights from the community has made all the difference for me. Hope you’re doing well, have a great end to the year!
Ha there is the video :D Congrats again on 10k my friend! :) It was a pleasure to discover your channel and see it grow so fast in your first year! That's thanks to your high quality standards, consistency and eye for small details. It was an honor to collab with you and I wish we could meet up in person and do a photowalk. But with my small kids travel is for a few years out of the window ... :'D Keep up your great work and fire! It inspires me also to keep going on YT. Happy New Year and see you in 2025! :)
Thanks Phil! This was a hard video to put together, my daughter's on school holidays so the house is full of background noise right now haha. Let's collab again next year, lots to talk about. Catch up soon!
@@BokehTherapy haha I get that since both of my kids are also at home for 2 weeks because of holidays 😀 I would love that! Excited for our next chat and collab! 👍🔥
@IntrovertAmateur haha yup school holidays are a blessing but very bad for productivity. I now know how to draw an unreasonable number of Pokémon though so there’s the silver lining
Thank you for you for all the content so far! It’s so refreshing to have this take on gear and the history of photography. Looking forward to seeing what 2025 brings.
Congrats on your milestone! Starting a successful YT channel these days can be an uphill battle, but your content and unique style truly stands out. Your Z8/Zf setup was my dream setup when I was looking to upgrade earlier this year, but the Z6III was the compromise. I absolutely enjoy using that camera. Many of the shortcomings of the camera are things I never encounter as I’m more of a casual shooter and consider the updates a huge upgrade over the Z5 it replaced. I’d eventually like to get a Zf and maybe a Z8 down the road.
The Z6III’s a fantastic camera, a one and done for the vast majority of creative work at a reasonable price! I am very fortunate to have the Z8 Zf combo, but I would also pick the Z6III if I could only choose one. Thanks so much for your feedback, happy new year!
Congratulations on your 10k Jack! I've been a subscriber early this year and as a Sony > Nikon user, I can relate to your videos and experiences more than anyone else. I also find your story telling and the way you deliver functionality (vs hype) with camera and lenses - accurate and humble. I hope you refine this style even further as it is refreshing from all the marketing crap that youtubers of today fall into. We all need this right now. Looking forward to your videos in 2025!
So glad to hear I’m not the only one who recently switched from Sony to Nikon! It felt right at the time even though it was expensive to do so. I love making these style of videos, and can’t help but share my experiences so your feedback means a lot. More refinement and evolution coming on the channel. Have a great new year!
Congrats on joining the 10K and Z8 club. Without a doubt my favourite photography channel... love the story telling. I'm looking forward to the Z5ii (hopefully early 2025) to see if a smaller/lighter FF Z body can backup my Z8 and lighten the load for street photography. Cheers from Canada. 🍻
Proud to be a member of the Z8 club! I’m keen to see what Nikon cooks up next they have been on a roll of late. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, means a lot in shaping the channel moving forward!
Ah man. I wish I could like this more. Maybe one day I will be able to go on a photowalk with you :) Thank you for sharing your art, passion and heart. I know there is a lot of time and effort put into these videos
Hello! Means a lot that you’ve reached out, it’s why I started the channel after all. Let me knowing you’re ever in Brisbane? Hope you’re having a great end to the year, more videos to come soon
@BokehTherapy thanks so much. If I ever travel to Au I will definitely look you up :) I have only once been out ou South Africa (well other than Namibia) and that was to Indonesia. But maybe my future looks different and hopefully will be able to visit more countries
Congratulations on your 1st year. I like your style of videos as they provide an interesting view on photography skills plus some interesting gear. I am a Z6 shooter so a little behind in my gear but value lenses more. Keep up the good work!
Hello! The Z6 is still fantastic, still can’t really beat the image quality in today’s market. I value lenses more too, so more to come on the channel. Have a wonderful new year ahead!
Thanks for another great video Jack. Funny enough I have a Z8 and got a Zf because of your videos. The zf w the voightlander 50 is so much fun. It’s been great seeing your images this past year, and learning from you. Excited to share more of your journey. Happy holidays to you and your family.
Hi Michael the Zf is still my favourite, the Z8 interestingly feels similar while being very different. Thanks for watching along this year, happy new year!
Congratulations to get into 10K subscriber club. I'm a keen follower of your channel. Due to budget constraints I had to go for Z6iii and not Z8. Hope I'll find out the magic in Z6iii soon.
The Z6iii is still amazing, I find it interesting that the Z8 got demoted during the process of promoting it somehow haha. Congrats on your camera, hope you create some amazing work!
congrats on the big milestone achievements!! 10k is HUGE (especially in the photography niche) keep up the good work! really looking forward to each episode.
Thanks so much Danny - this niche has changed a lot, but I'm finding it more interesting than ever. Hope you and the family are doing well, here's to 2025!
What an amazing accomplishment! You have built an incredible channel in such a short time. It has been lovely watching your photography journey and seeing how it has connected with mine too, mainly with the purchase of a Zf and the use of older lenses (I started to shoot film too). I agree that Identity is an important part of a camera, even if objectively it might not seem meaningful. It was a large part of me getting a Zf. The Z8 has intrigued me as a second camera, so it is nice to get your perspective on it! I hope you and your family have a wonderful new year, and I can't wait to see what you do in 2025!
Meeting and chatting with you this year has meant a lot my friend! The best part about the channel is connecting with like minded photographers, it is the best hobby in the world (in my biased opinion). The Z8 is fantastic, but so is film photography. I have held off film for another year, but for how much longer? Enjoy your holiday break and we will talk soon!
@BokehTherapy yes, it has been a real pleasure chatting! Photography is a wonderful hobby, and one that allows you to share your passions with the world, which is great. If you do decide to shoot some film at some point, you already have some good lenses that you are familiar with!
@@EricWier Definitely - vintage F-mount glass feels like a one and done purchase. Film cameras are the ultimate rabbit hole I've not yet jumped into yet haha
I love my z6iii. I don't know what type of photographer I am but I'm absolutely in love with the z6iii. Its so perfect for me. It feels like an extension of my arm. I use the 24-120 lens for everything now.
Wonderful to hear - I feel that connection with the Zf and Z8. Almost impossible to capture that in a review because it’s so subjective. Thanks for watching and sharing!
@BokehTherapy for some reason I thought you were based in Melb. I'll find you on Instagram and shoot you a message!!!... I do but less so these days as I moved a little away from street stuff
@@BokehTherapy Do you guys know the Go-Betweens? The best band of the 80s and massively underrated. They hail from Brisbane and Robert Forster lives there again as far as I know.
Congrats on 10K! I wound up with the Z8 instead of the 6iii because it wasn’t in stock when I wanted it! Crazy how our Zf and Z8 team is the same! No regrets on either; just have to figure out what to do with the 6ii I don’t use anymore! 😄
Yes Team Zf + Z8! Maybe your Z6ii can become your home office webcam haha? It is a wonderful combo, thank you for connecting with the channel this year Darryl. Have a wonderful end of year and happy 2025!
Congrats on your first year.. Yours is the one Channel that I subscribe to that I honestly look forward to each new video. Your subject matter and story telling makes the channel unique. Now I honestly was a bit surprised when this video showed up. Never would have thought you would jump into the Z8. Honestly I love mine and grab it whenever I don’t want to lug around my Z9. I am glad you have found the bulk of the Z8 to be worth it. It would be interesting for you to rent a Z9 and give some thoughts on the differences.. looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Df. Not ready to turn in my Leica to go back to it myself but interested to hear your thoughts. For vintage F mount glass it does seem perfect. I am using a D3 for that. Again keep up the great work and Happy New Year!!
Hello Dan! Yes I was very surprised myself, I thought I only gravitated towards small retro cameras. I guess what I was looking for all along was clear design intent, and Nikon got it so right with the Z8. I’ve learnt a lot from all of your feedback this year, you’ve really helped to shape the channel. Happy new year!
@@BokehTherapy I have learned that the photo journey is always full of surprises. After years of Nikon shooting I never thought I would shoot anything else. This past month I picked up a Hasselblad X2d which is quite a change from Nikon. And of course my Leica is also quick a shock to the system.
@@gshocker77 I did a lot of research into the X2D... their recent influencer campaigns seem to be working haha. Congrats! Looks like a great system. For me it was either stay a Leica shooter or jump into medium format - still a Leica shooter for the forseeable future with the M11 Monochrom
@ The M11 monochrome may be a body I look for in Japan. Will need to remove some other items from my collection to fun this though. Nikon Z 50 f1.2 lens is on the chopping block along with a nice 200 f2. The X2d has been one of those aspirational I wish I could someday have bodies that I never thought I could get. Managed to find one that I couldn’t pass on. Luck day!
@@BokehTherapy Have a question for you regarding your selling the Leica to purchase the Df. Was there anything special that you needed to do in order to sell the camera to the shop? I am thinking about brining some grear to sell when I am in Japan and want to make sure I do not lug the items to Japan for nothing if I do not bring everything that they request. Really wondering about their trust in foreigners selling items to them. My Japanese wife will be with me so I figure that could help smooth things.. Never had issues buying things in any of the small used shops there but never tried selling them great.. Any info would be appreciated..
Happy new year Matthew! I love both the Zf and Z8, fortunate to own both. If I could only choose 1 it would still be the Zf despite its quirks. Thanks so much for watching and all your feedback this year. Really helped to shape the channel!
@@BokehTherapy your welcome Jack, interesting you prefer the Zf. I’ve used both cameras and just cannot justify the price of the Z8 when the Zf is such a great offering. Zf is better for street and that’s what I love the most.
Congrats on 1 year with 10k subs! I'm so happy for you. Sadly, I might sell off my ZF as its too heavy for my travels. I end up using my GRd and phone more often and the ZF left in the bag, killing my shoulder despite just using it with the 40mm alone.
Ah sorry to hear that, the ergonomics really don’t suit a lot of street shooters it seems. There’s rumors of a ricoh GR IV early next year - perhaps a good time to switch your setup then. Happy new year man, hope you’re doing well!
Congratulations on your success. The Z6III fits me. I appreciate your insight. Even more than the Z6III, I seem to enjoy picking up my D780 a bit more. It is an emotional game.
I came very very close to a D780 instead of the Z8, there is a huge price difference and I love the shutter sound on the older DSLRs. Thanks for watching and commenting this year!
A well-deserved 10K subs and no doubt there will be many more as time goes on. This was a very timely video for me as I'm in the process of contemplating the sale of my Zf and x100vi in favour of the Z8. I'm not sure what will happen but that's part of the fun of life! lol
It’s why I made this video actually, for those on the fence while the holiday sales are on right now. For me it was a Z8 + Zf, or two Zf’s if I need two matching bodies. Let me know what you go with, thanks for being here from the start!
@@BokehTherapy I'm definitely on the fence. I know what the Z8 is capable of. I've owned the Z9 but sold it a few months ago. The smaller form-factor of the Z8 is very appealing!
Congratulations on 10k subs! Like others, I really look forward to every video and I haven't been disappointed yet. Both the content and style are very compelling. It's been a pleasure watching your channel grow. I really wish your move to the Z8 surprised me. Actually, it was the Z6iii acquisition that was a surprise. I'm coming into the Nikon Z world at the end of a D2x, D3, D800 progression. I'm ok with the Zf not having custom shooting banks, it's a different camera. I shoot it for fun. If I had to work, I'd buy a Z8 or rent a Z9. In short, I kinda felt like the Z8 was inevitable for you. Either way, I'm delighted for your success! May 2025 be even more fulfilling bringing consistent, organic and sustainable growth.
Hello Miguel! You knew me better than I knew myself it seems, the Z8 is just so satisfying to use. There’s something about product design that’s either hit or miss for me, something ineffable there to explore for future videos I think. I’ve learnt a lot from your feedback this year, thank you for supporting and shaping the channel!
@@BokehTherapy Nikon gets its flagship camera right. I had an F100 back in the day. Every camera Nikon makes that feels like an F100 has shades of that initial greatness. The Z8 is the closest thing to a mirrorless D850 and an obvious F100 relative.
They do flagships really well - other brands don’t quite seem to have the same sense of occasion right now. Maybe the feeling that nothing’s being held back is what I’m resonating with
Hi Jack! Welcome back! Congratulations first of all on the milestone of 10K! 🎉 That happened really fast but I am not surprised because when the content is as good as yours, you will grow that quickly.❤ Regarding the Z8 you may or may not remember that I have small hands so though your reasons are very compelling, I must go back and review the video again to see if it makes sense for me. I have the Z63 but sadly, I’m not using it for street photography and I have been thinking a lot about this… In other words, did I buy the wrong camera? I’ll keep you posted on what I end up with, but it’s probably best that I go into the store and actually pick up a Z8 and see how I feel. Congratulations again and thank you for all you do!
Thank you Juliette, you were one of the first viewers that gave really detailed feedback to help shape the channel! The Z8 isn’t too big for me, the weight might be more of an issue. Try it out to see how you go, there are a lot of upgrades over the Z6iii which is still a great camera as is the Zf. Hope you’re doing great, have a wonderful end to the year!
@@BokehTherapy Thank you and I will keep you posted! By the way, I just made corrections to my original post because I used voice to text while on a photo walk - not a great idea 😆... so hope it makes more sense. Yes, I am proud to be one of your first of several subscribers and am so happy you are doing well here. I hope next year brings you even more success! Happy new year!
I got the Nikon Z8 first and the Nikon Zf second (not true exactly Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7ii before both). But as a Nikon D850 guy, the Nikon Z8 is the one I count on most. The Nikon Zf is a great street and fun camera, but as you described, the ergonomics and AF performance and other benefits of the z8, the size is not really that different. Congratulations on the camera and the YT milestone
Hello thanks for your insights! I fell in love with the D850 from my brief time testing it; almost went down that path until I tried the Z8. Spoilt for choice right now, thanks for watching along this year!
I am soo tempted by the Z8, just with the 24-120mm. I already have too many Fuji camera bodies and lenses but... Well deserved 10K subscribers, congrats !
The Z8 is significantly heavier than the XT line, maybe not that much heavier than the XH bodies? Your Fuji system is great I'm sure, I think the AF problems have been overblown. Happy shooting!
I actually like the X-H2s weight more than the lighter camera bodies, so in my eyes the heavier Z8 will fit in well. Hard to explain why I prefer the heavier weight, just a good feeling with more weight in my hands. During the last decades of the previous millennium I had Nikon equipment, so it will just feel like coming home. I never sell the camera equipment I have, and will still use Fuji. I am just tempted by the 24-120mm lens and the 40mm. Just waiting for some funds to come in, then I'll order.
@@sjuhav there's a surprising similarity in the feel between Nikon and Fuji (beyond the retro exterior of cameras like Zf and XTs). Let me know when your new Nikons arrive!
Thank you for a year of bokeh therapy and congratulations on the 10k. I really love the small stories you bring into your videos. I still use my original Z6, and even though the autofocus can be a hassle sometimes, it makes the process of getting a perfectly sharp picture kind of rewarding. But the slow picture loading times and the somewhat buggy SnapBridge app annoy me. Have you also had the problem where the SnapBridge app always disconnects after 10-30s on the first connection?
Hello! Yes I have always had issues with any photography app, to the point where I refuse to use them from any manufacturer. Suspect the older Bluetooth protocols don’t play nice, and/or the app development wasn’t great. Thanks for watching and commenting this year, means a lot!
Jack, Another super enjoyable video/story you've made here. But a Z8?...I did not see that coming! ;-) I'll be interested to hear your impressions of it as you are able to use it more. One question if I may - Do you actually see finer detail/resolution in the photo files (whether due to lack of anti-aliasing filter or higher MP), or does it just allow one to print larger/crop more? I've only used 24 MP full frames (Canon and Nikon), mostly due to the expense of the 45MP models. But having that much cropability would allow me to make the move from apsc for my birding, to use the FF for its other benefits. And congratulations on your first year's growth here on RUclips. You are making some unique and especially interesting videos. Craig
Hi Craig! I also did not think I would head down the Z8 route, but the form factor really surprised me. Resolution isn't the main reason I upgraded, although it is handy when I want to test APS-C-DX lenses. I think going to crop mode without compromise is the main reason for higher res, you get two lenses in one (35 becomes 50) when travelling . Pixel-peeping in lightroom can be fun but not that practical. Thanks for connecting with the channel this year, you've been here since the beginning!
Congrats on 10k subs! Well deserved. I often wondered why the Z9 was so popular given it's size, and I would think the Z8 is a nice overall package of performance and size compared to the Z9. Keen to hear your thoughts on the DF. It's always been an appealing camera with a beautiful sensor.
Thanks Shane - I was surprised at how comfortable the Z8 felt given how many reviews talked about its size again and again... another reason to visit your local camera store more often. The DF may be my favourite camera I've tried this year, but waiting for the novelty to wear off to make a sober review. Its tech is surprisingly modern, way ahead of its time. Hope you have a great end to the year!
I got a Z6iii as a partner for my Z8 but that was a big mistake. The Z6iii, and Zf, won't let you configure the function buttons the same as the Z8 so you can't rely on muscle memory. It is almost like they are different systems. My Z6iii is rarely used. I prefer the Zf as touching it reminds you that it is the different camera so the adjustment in thinking is almost automatic. And weirdly I prefer the ergonomics of the Zf as my work around in setting up function buttons for focus settings works better for me on that camera.
I’m in the same boat Tim, the Zf is so different that I set it up very minimally without too much customisation that clashes with the Z8 config. The Z6iii on the other hand is in no man’s land for my setup so it had to go. The Z8 is still the one to beat, I don’t think any other flagship has bested it yet. Thanks for watching and commenting all throughout this year, means a lot!
@BokehTherapy I will keep watching. You not only talk about the process you also get into the "why". Sorry I couldn't think of anything better word to cover the philosophical side. Now I just have to think about how to migrate the Z6iii into a Z8. I live over 500km from a city, and that is only Adelaide which is really a big countrytown but I like it, so I can't just drop into a store and negotiate a trade. It is a shame because the Z6iii has incredible potential but they crippled the photography side of it.
I love visiting Adelaide, think it is Australia’s best kept secret as a city! Not sure about the camera store situation there though. If you visit Japan you can trade in cameras (Fujiya Camera, Map Camera) for a 15% price bump if it goes towards a purchase. That is better than selling on the second hand market in Aus, will talk a bit more about it in the next video
Was it hot in JP during Christmas? So many people in shorts and t-shirts. Haha. The Z8 is such a gem of a camera. Never tried the z9 but my z8 is by far the best Nikon camera I've ever used and owned.
The weather is quite unpredictable, one year it snowed in October and the last couple of years it was quite hot! I am late to the party with the Z8, but so are most people it seems - still gets underrated by reviewers and gets compared to the lower tier A7RV a lot. Thanks for watching!
Hi Jack, I am glad you found your path to the Z8 (I have had a similar path). I changed from Fuji (many years) to the Z6 II, then the Z8 & ZF. I did it for the superior lenses and the superior price/IQ ratio. But I also noticed the huge change from the Z 6 II to the Z8. The sheer quality of the camera, the IQ, speed, EVF, Screen, AF, Options/usability. I do enjoy the ZF for the "retro feel", but there is no doubt that the Z8 is the main camera. The Z8 is a tool old street photographers can only dream of. You can get so many useable shots from a single day or two on holiday (as I have in Venice this year). Are you on any photo-sharing site? (I'm on Flicr). The Z8 with the 105 Z Macro and the Plena or the 85 can suddenly "make you" into a pro product/marco photographer or portrait artist. It is incredible. Continue please!
Hello! The reason I made this video is that despite being released 18 months ago the Z8 coverage is still very skewed towards wildlife. It is an amazing all purpose camera that more street photographers should be using. I am just on instagram and this RUclips channel - thanks so much for watching this year!
I know exactly what you mean and feel - there are cameras which you connect with and makes you want to shoot and shoot better. And it rarely had to do with specs, but the haptics and how the controls fall to your hand and how you see. Looking forward to your videos in 2025.
Definitely - if it was only as simple as the best specs. Chasing that feeling is what photography is all about. Thank you for watching and sharing your insights - happy new year!
Thanks John - I can't find many Z8 street photographers out there, seeing your street work on IG really helped with my decision. Love your aesthetic, thanks for watching and commenting this year!
massive congrats on the milestone. I took the z8 to Japan this year and the size really was a non issue coming from the d500 on previous trips and a z6ii to singapore the size and weight is comparable to the d500, technically it was a little lighter iirc. The most important thing anyone needs in a camera irrespective of brand is one that will encourage them to get out an use. if you are going to drop so much of your hard earned on something ensure it is on something that you like to use not like to show off a brand.
Thanks Tim! Weight is a non issue if the cameras in your hand versus in the bag haha. I actually fell in love with DSLRs on my last Japan trip, almost bought a used D850! Then came to my senses (for the time being), the Z8 is amazing. It’s been a pleasure connecting with photographers like yourself this year, more to come soon!
A few weeks ago I was debating with myself buying a second and better Nikon camera. I was between Z7ii and Z8. Because of economical reasons I ended up with Z6iii (I got an interesting deal)… The weight and size also made me hesitate about the Z8 because my main use is travel and street photography. One of the things I like in Z8 is the screen, I think it’s perfect for those main uses…If you had made this video before maybe it would influence me to choose differently but I think that the perfect solution would be a Z8 in a Z7ii body… Let us see what the future holds :-) Congratulations on your one year RUclips Channel and have a great 2025!
I was in exactly the same boat, sorry I didn’t make this video sooner lol! I am very interested in a Z7ii sensor in a new body (maybe a Zf ii or a ZS rangefinder?). Let’s see where Nikon goes next year! Thanks for watching and commenting, have a great end to the year
@ No problem :-) It’s also a GAS problem and being a hobbyist I know that, unfortunately, this will continue to happen for a while longer:-) The main thing is keep taking photos, improving and hope that manufacturers, finally, make the camera that is perfect for each of us… At least for a period long enough to our wallets get some rest… :-)
Congrats on the 10k milestone. In regard to the Z8, are you missing any of the manual focus features from the ZF/Z6III? I know the Z8 is a quite different experience. Are you utilizing the ZF for manual focus lenses and the Z8 for AF lenses?
The Z8 as of right now has none of the ZF’s MF features, not letting go of the Zf anytime soon! For manual focus I love the ZF, and now the DF? The Z8 is for a truly modern AF experience. Thanks for watching, 10K in 1 year is quite surreal!
I switched to Sony back in 2013 from Canon when I bought the first Sony A7 Mark I. It sparked something in me back then, and over time, I’ve expanded my Sony collection adding more lenses and gear and I’ve loved the system throughout. There’s just something about the Z8 and Zf - it’s hard to put into words!, but it’s like rediscovering why I love photography. I’m keeping my Sony system, but the Z8 and Zf have reignited a passion I didn’t realise I’d been missing. Sorry, getting a bit emotional.. hahaha!
Totally get it, my A1 was so good that I almost gave up on photography as it seemed emotionless to get each shot! Nikon’s cameras seem to have some ineffable quality to them that invites the user to keep taking photos - really interesting how that is imbued from the get go
So many people talk about too big or too heavy. I have a macbook 16" and apparently thats too heavy too. My phone is apparently too heavy. I should go for the titanium model with 30g weight saving. I think many reviews need to nit pick. The real weight in your bag is the bunch of lenses, spare batteries, charger etc. Also I love CF Express B. Its so fast. Its also far more durable than SD Cards. Something I think is overlooked by many. Its my only gripe with the ZF.
I've realised how hard it is to read between the lines with reviews, and it's just as hard making a review that will resonate with people. Thanks for watching this year, more to come soon!
I love the U1, 2, 3 on the Z 6/7 compared to the Z8. The Z8 banks which constantly "bookmarks" your last settings constantly overwriting preferred settings. Lot's of blown shots because I had forgotten that I used a faster or slower shutter speed the last time I used a "bank" on the Z8. Wish there was a way to save and lock in settings until you intentionally want to permanently change them.
Could be a simple toggle in the menu, remember last setting in bank? I don’t mind the U1/2/3, user banks just make more sense in my mind. Thanks for your insights
Congrats on 10k! How does shooting with only an electronic shutter feel? The Z8 is a beast of a camera and is something I highly considered selling my a9iii for. Either way I need to stop looking at gear and hone up my skills 😅
lol I am pretty sure your A9III qualifies as a beast! I’ve used e shutter only before on the A1, still prefer the mechanical feel but everything’s so fast you forget about it. Thanks for watching this year man, think you’ve been here for every vid! Happy new year to you and the family
Hello Jack, I hope you’re well. Thank you for making this video, I was wondering how good of a camera the Z8 is for street/documentary photography. Did you notice the presence of rolling shutter? Even in the slightest form?
Hello! The Z8/Z9 has the fastest scanning stacked sensor on the market I believe, only the A9iii’s global shutter is faster. I did not see any rolling shutter in any of my shots or test footage?
I found your channel because of the Zf. Really enjoyed the Zf but never "loved" it. I tried a Z8 and it was instant, I was in "love"...I think mainly because it reminded so much of my old D300 (had to sell all my camera gear back then and when I started over, I went Fuji, then tried Sony & Canon mirrorless and now back to Nikon after about 17 years away). Anyways... Sold the Zf, bought the Z8 and have not regretted it for 1 second.
I fell in love again with DSLRs recently, almost went down the D780/D850 rabbit hole til I tried the Z8 in every camera store I could find in Japan haha. I have both the Zf and Z8, it's a great combo together for a different shooting experience. Thanks so much for sharing and watching, happy 2025
If I were looking to purchase a Nikon camera, the Z8 would be my choice. Many of the Z9 specs but at a more affordable price. Nikon glass produces exceptional image quality. I am a fan of the Wotancraft camera bags & I have several of their offerings. Safe travels & best wishes for your channel.
I shoot Z8 ZF combo also. I think the Z6iii is priced a little too close to the Z8 for what it is especially since the Z8 was discounted soon as it released. The features you outlined are can easily be worth the upgrade.
The Z6iii is discounted now too, but I got a great deal on my Z8 with all the cashback offers on in Australia. You could get a used Z8 too given how little mechanical wear and tear there is. This camera has been buried by most reviewers and doesn’t get enough love, I’m very proud to join the Z8 club!
I’m still trying to decide between the keeping the Zf and adding a Z6ii (or Z55!) or ditching the Zf for a Z6iii! I’m leaning towards the Zf + Z6 ii combo but dunno. Thoughts? I love your content. Z8 looks great! Z8 reminds me bit of my old N90s and F4. Love the look of the left side controls.
As someone who went down this path I think waiting a little while and living with the system a bit more makes sense (unless you need a second body now?). I would have gone Z8 straight away rather than the Z6III in retrospect, or just stick with two ZFs myself. If the Z6III goes on steep discount it’s worth considering though!
After waiting for the Z6 III for more than a year, when it finally came out its not-for-photographers display articulation mechanism, its ludicrous initial price tag and a simultaneous nice rebate on the Z8 sealed the deal for me and I got the Z8 as well - and I'm extremely happy about it. There are only one and a half disappointing things about it: My previous Z6 felt a lot better built - both when initially handling the Z8 and now being used to the Z8 and getting to hold my old Z6 (sold to a co-worker) again from time to time. And the top LCD sucks compared to OLED that was built into the Z6.
Great video, as always. I relate to your dilemma here big time. I'm a ZF owner too. It's my only camera. I enjoy shooting zoom lenses, especially my 24-120 f4, and the weight of these lenses really accentuates the bad ergonomics on the body. I've considered selling the ZF for this reason, which I really don't want to do, since the camera is so special to me. The better idea would likely be to get a Z8 or Z6III to accompany it, someday.
Both Z8 and Z6iii are wonderful to use with longer lenses. The Zf is great with manual lenses and small primes. Pity there’s not one body that fits the bill, the Z6iii probably gets the closest (until the next release of course). Thanks for watching this year, your feedback means a lot
Still far too big and heavy for me. That's the main reason we switched to mirrorless from DSLR. That's why, even in late 2024, I just sold off one of my Z6ii's and got a mint Z7ii. Absolutely love this combo (6ii for all my paid gigs and low-light, and 7ii for personal stuff and travel). AFC, is still fine (if you get the right settings and know your shtick). images from the 7ii good as any from the Z8 (many RUclipsrs have said this), and I got this body for 3K instead of the 6K here new in Australia. Many photographers don't get it that Nikon got things pretty right with the 6ii's and 7ii's, and for many of us working pro's, they are still a great option to the newer 'more fantastic' models. Great video Jack as usual and we are waiting for a great 2025 with you. Can you still let us know if you are still shooting with the Z26mm pancake? I just bought this to take with me for my current 5 weeks in NZ - am lovin this combo with my Z7ii!
I love the Z7ii sensor, hope it comes to another Nikon body in the near future with Expeed 7 - the mark ii models are great deals on the used market! I don’t shoot as much with the 26mm as I should it’s a really great lens. Nice to hear from you Philip, happy 2025!
Packing for a 5 day trip this week, trying very hard to make the decisions in advance to carry less. Trip will be primarily portraits, though some event / room, and occasional buildings (both exterior and interiors). At this point easily chose the z8 as the camera for pretty much every reason you mention. It's just a great camera, hard not to smile when using it. Lenses in the bag so far: nikon z 135 plena, 24-120z f4, 26mm z f2.8; also the voigtlander 50 mm f1. Anyway final mix may change a little, but the z8 is a lock. Btw kept the z6iii primarily for its 6k video, which I find useful.
Agree on everything. I found my old Z6 files were good at underexposing and lifting in post, the Z8 can do the absolute highest iso's and look better. If you are able to reach middle grey or better with even iso 24,000 you'll get a perfectly clear image. The viewfinder is MUCH brighter and better calibrated than the R5II, I personally found it difficult to notice the resolution difference when shooting. Everything about the Z8 feels quick and snappy like nothing else does. Its amazing what Nikon has done with tech released in late 2021.
Oh great to get your insight - I will try exposing to the right more with the Z8. The files look really good to me even at night. I am loving the viewfinder experience, haven't tried the R5ii, but I think the Z8 (and Z lenses) are still a more compelling package in 2025. Thanks for sharing!
I bought a Z8 on a great discount in Japan, and I'll be honest I disagree that it isn't street photography capable. I very much thing it absolutely is great for street photography. I had so much fun using it while I lived in Japan, and have brought that fun back to the states with me.
Yup it fits so well in my hand, really encourages me to keep shooting. Super silent shutter, great viewfinder and screen experience. Wonderful street camera if the weight isn't an issue. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve used the Z8 for Street since launch.. it’s bun fat the best camera I’ve ever used.. always out with friends and they will miss a shot and I’ll get it
I had a Nikon Z8, when it first came out my experience was very negative in terms of image quality, especially at high ISO the camera above 1600. ISO was producing very messy files with very strange details and something I would never have expected from a modern camera. And therefore it returned it, I don't know if you also had this feeling, but as you got on the high iso the camera produced really ugly files.
Mmm not sure if the Lightroom profiles were ready at that time? I download sample high ISO files before buying any camera and the noise level. is what I’m comfortable with. Everyone has a different noise tolerance though, I wish all the files look cleaner. Thanks for your insights!
@ I bought it in October 2023, so I don't know if lightroom was ready yet. I hadn't thought about this thing here, but the only thing I remember is that when I tried to take photographs mainly in black and white. So usually they come out even better than in color, I tried to increase the image to 100% and sees a very muddy image I used 24-70 f4 and 50 f1.8
@MarcAdesso I wish the Zf2 uses the Z7ii sensor actually - makes total sense from a cost perspective and the newer processor would bring new life to that sensor. Bring the cost down and everyone wins!
@Digmen1 I get it, very rarely do camera companies give us exactly what we want. Nikon is in a unique position trying to grab back market share right now so seems they’re willing to try different things all at once
@@BokehTherapy I like that idea too, kinda repeat what they did with the Z6 sensor + Zf- I also like it in that the Z7 sensor is still technically their best performing image sensor (in terms of pure image quality)!
Street and size: you are so right to point out that the Zf with grip is only marginally lighter and smaller than the Z8. Not enough to make any difference in real life. Furthermore, for street and other disciplines, it does not really matter for the subjects or other people if the camera is "small" or "large". It does not matter if the controls are "retro" or next gen. In 2024, any camera is "exotic" and equally noticed. Passers-by do not care at all if it is a Leica, a Fujifilm, a Zf, a Z6III, a Z8 or even a Z9: those are all equally nerdy intrusive black boxes shooting pictures. It is only in the brains of photographers that brands/sizes/controls trigger differentiated perceptions and assumptions. I'd say anything with a viewfinder, or bigger than, say, a Z30, will trigger the same level of scrutiny from passers-by. The baseline for "invisibility" is the smartphone or the Ricoh GR (which basically passes as a phone). All that to say that I agree the Z8 is a wonderful street camera, and so were the D850 or D700 and basically any nimble and responsive camera in the past.
I totally agree, public perception has really changed. Black cameras are not stealth anymore, the fact we’re holding a camera at all really stands out! I have noticed retro cameras being seen as more friendly by passers by of late. Rumors of a Ricoh GRIV early next year have piqued my interest. Thanks for watching!
It's funny, I just went the other way - Z8 to Z6III + vertical grip. And I have the Zf as well (love!). That said, I see it as a temporary move and I plan on adding another Z8 back in the mix next year when I get the 180-600 for my wildlife setup. IMO the Z8 is the most powerful, capable, and versatile camera on the market for the money. I have a few issues with Photo Shooting and Customs Settings banks, I kind of prefer the simpler U1-2-3 approach. Banks really just need an option to be "linked" so both don't need be changed separately (I never change one without the other, for my setups). And I always keep a "clean" save of my settings so I can revert back quickly, any time I experiment and change a bunch of settings. I also really want Nikon to give us back the option of sizing down the 45mp RAW files to say, 36 and 24. Like we could in some earlier Z bodies. This is one of the main reasons for moving to the Z6III as my primary body, less file weight in post, and so clean in lower light. Plus I needed a vertical grip and the Z8's grip experience just makes for a huge and cumbersome body. All that aside, the Z8 and Zf I feel are an ideal pair that covers all scenarios.
Yes I would love medium RAW! I would like a toggle to convert the user banks to the U1/2/3 functionality where the settings are memorised or pre-saved. Hopefully there are a few more big firmware updates for Z8 coming, but I"m very happy with how the camera performs for my use case at the moment. thanks for sharing!
Hey Jack, my name is Johnny and I'm that freelance logo designer who reached out to you awhile ago, congrats for your milestone/kilometerstone! I know you mentioned about monthly income you had for the channel last time hence wasn't ready for it, I hope it's better now but overall a logo isn't an expense of the month but a long term investment for your channel plus you can use it as merch print to sell to your fans and also trademark logo which will help to spread more words for your channel and hence more income each month too! I already have a great logo idea in mind that match well with your bokehtherapy direction and your back and forth storytelling method, let me know if you interested and I would love to design it for you! :-)
Hi Johnny nice to hear from you again. A channel logo is not how users find videos on RUclips so it is not something that resolves a problem, especially for any channel under 100K subs. If you’re starting out thumbnail design is a more broadly applicable service? I’ve developed my own style in thumbnails but a lot of channels starting out don’t have the skills or experience. Hope that clarifies things, and wishing you a happy new year ahead
Yes you have a point for that but logo isn't just about discover your channel but it's for helping to build loyalty and also can be the artwork to sell as merch print. MKBHD still has a logo even tho his face is very popular and he use his logo as merch print and also extension to few of his other platform too like integrate it into his podcast artwork. Also, a logo can be a quick way and memorable way for you as the creator to tell your story in a simple single artwork, it make your brand image more memorable, mine logo idea for you has the zen thoughtful back and forth reference and connection in life kind of storytelling direction, it will be cool to have such logo that able to present you in the same way as well, maybe one day you will have the plan to work with brands to have your own product with the logo too like a lens cap. Yes I do provide other service like whole branding, thumbnail and wallpaper design but I figure you have already figured it out on these but just haven't got a proper logo that really represent you, I think the one you have now is too Metal and mine is more match your zen and mindful directions. Let me know if you agree with some of my points and want to give this opportunity a try! :-)
Also, a logo is another chance for the new audience to remember and recall your channel and and your content is about because not every different racial, culture and background of people can remember every new faces, hence there is memes of every white people/ Asian looks the same. And next to your channel picture already have your brand name hence it's redundant to have another stylised brand name in the picture and not a graphic based on your brand name to have alternative way to remember you. My logo for you is based on bokeh, has back and forth looks and it's calm like you, I think you will like it, let me know if my points opened new perspectives for you! :-)
I have a z6 II and a z8. I use my z6 II for street photography with a 28mm or 40mm lens. I use a zone focus most of the time. That's why I use the z6 II. If I was choosing one to use for the auto focus it would be the z8 though. If I used my 85mm I would need the auto focus.
@BokehTherapy i want the z6 III and replace my z6 II but honestly, the z8 does everything my z6 II doesn't do. Do I need to replace my z6 II? Probably not.
After much debate between various hybrids, picked up a Z6iii with 24-120 lens and 50 1.8S last week during X-mas sales. But I have yet to open any of the boxes feeling like I made a mistake based on all the negative comments I come across. Guess I should have gone with S5ii or some other brand.
There is a lot of unwarranted negativity towards Nikon full stop, not sure why? z6iii is fantastic, better specced than the S5ii. I think the Z lenses are sharper as well
Happy with the Z6iii, specially the versatility to shoot video on a Ronin gimbal and yeah that flippy screen👍 saved my back and knee lot of times shooting very low to the ground framing..I’ll wait for the Z8 V2 as Nikon always finds a way to scam me since the days of the Z6,Z7 then Z6ii/Z7ii which all fall short on my expectations..been duped twice so my goal now is to always wait for the 2/3rd Generations of body..
The Z6iii does make a lot more sense for video, 6K and smaller size is worth it! The Z8 is great for photography, I’m not sure what more mark 2 could bring for that application. Waiting always makes sense though, it’s all consumer electronics that depreciate at the end of the day. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Although at the time I really wanted a Z50ii I bought the Z6iii when it came out because I missed that creamy 24MP I had with the Z6ii which I kept but converted to Astro H-Alpha (great decision btw). After watching this video however I need to go back and give my Z8 some love.
I think the Z6iii is a fantastic camera, it has a lot to offer but the Z8 has somehow become underrated this year. 18 months after release it’s still unmatched for what it offers. Thanks for sharing!
I totally get that, love the mechanical shutter on the Zf! It seems to be the future for stacked sensors to not get that wear and tear, I don’t mind the 5 sounds that Nikon offers (including a beep lol)
@@BokehTherapy The most fun and pleasure to use for sure! I tried Zf and Z6iii but for me the om-1mii hits the sweet spot. All these cameras are awesome, just depends on what you like! Love your channel, informative and relaxing, thank you for the effort.
Totally get it, all these cameras are getting more expensive. I still remember getting a new Fuji X100F for under $1K lol. I found reviewers to have begrudging respect for the Z8 because it’s so undeniable, but they’re not willing to switch to the system longer term because of the size of the camera? Hope you’re doing well always nice to hear from you!
Same here. You are a great storyteller!
@c141charlie great to hear!
100% agree!
@jburroughs6645 thank you!
It’s an inspiration, truly. I absolutely loved your video on the Nikon 50mm and it’s the reason I own a Zf with a 50mm.
Glad to hear it - that’s a fantastic combo!
There are wonderful photographers on this platform, maybe more than any other
@@BokehTherapy True that it is just a number, but don't sell yourself short. It is amazing, and it is a testament to your abilities. Happy New Year!
Thank you - have a great New Year’s Day!
Another soul filled video Jack. Your thoughtful videos are bringing connection to many
Hello Steven, hope you have a wonderful new year ahead.
Thank you for being here, looking forward to every new video. For me, the Z f suits me. And for the future? Maybe the Z8 ;)
Thanks so much for watching this year, your feedback means a lot! Z8 and Zf is a surprisingly common combo I’m finding out now lol
First time viewer here... I enjoyed your style of 2 plot lines (street shots + camera review). Sub'd!.
Welcome to the channel! Trying different video formats all the time, they don’t always work though lol. Thanks for sharing!
I'm really pleased for your success on RUclips and hope you carry on enjoying making videos as much as I like watching them 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much Paul, it’s been great to get your feedback this year on the channel. Have a great end to the year, here’s to 2025!
Ha there is the video :D
Congrats again on 10k my friend! :)
It was a pleasure to discover your channel and see it grow so fast in your first year! That's thanks to your high quality standards, consistency and eye for small details.
It was an honor to collab with you and I wish we could meet up in person and do a photowalk. But with my small kids travel is for a few years out of the window ... :'D
Keep up your great work and fire! It inspires me also to keep going on YT.
Happy New Year and see you in 2025! :)
Thanks Phil! This was a hard video to put together, my daughter's on school holidays so the house is full of background noise right now haha. Let's collab again next year, lots to talk about. Catch up soon!
@@BokehTherapy haha I get that since both of my kids are also at home for 2 weeks because of holidays 😀
I would love that!
Thanks so much, I am excited for 2025. More to come!
Maybe one day I will be able to go on a photowalk with you :)
Thank you for sharing your art, passion and heart.
Let me know! Hope you have a great start to 2025!
@BokehTherapy thanks man. And the same to you! Hope you have a greatly blessed 2025
Congratulations on the 10K subs mate, well deserved and all the best!
Thanks so much - you were here at the start! Hope you’re doing well!
Sounds like you are becoming a Nikon fan. Great work for your first year, love how you go about your story telling.
Thank you for watching and commenting - I love any camera with a clear identity it seems, and Nikon has been on a roll! More to come soon!
I really like your channel. Your format is really unique. Keep it up, And if you're ever back in Brisbane say g'day
Nice! I am based in Brisbane 95% of the year haha. Do you go on photo walks around the CBD?
@BokehTherapy for some reason I thought you were based in Melb. I'll find you on Instagram and shoot you a message!!!... I do but less so these days as I moved a little away from street stuff
I love Melbourne and Sydney when I visit, not much of a street photography culture in Brisbane sadly
Melancholy is the perfect word for it. And congrats on your first full year, Jack!
Will continue to learn from channels like yours Chris - thanks for watching and happy new year!
Excellent stuff.
Congratulations !
Thanks so much Gary! Great to connect with you this year, hope you're having a great end to the year
Happy NY, Jack! You're my favourite photography channel by far. Z8 is my favourite camera, but I own a Zf instead.
If I didn’t do this much video I would have bought a second Zf in indigo haha. It’s still my favourite!
@BokehTherapy thanks bro. Same to you and your family!
The form factor is actually my favourite part of the Z8 - big but not bulky
@@BokehTherapy Thanks so much! a ZF v DF video could be interesting.
It’s in the schedule already! Both amazing cameras
@@BokehTherapy Awesome!
Loved this one. I shoot primarily street photography with my Z8. I find it works perfectly, even for lower light.
Thanks John - I can't find many Z8 street photographers out there, seeing your street work on IG really helped with my decision. Love your aesthetic, thanks for watching and commenting this year!
@@BokehTherapy Agreed. Seems everyone with a Z8 is a bird photographer, lol. Check out @evanranft for another Z8 user that's more street based.
Alik Griffin based out of Fukuoka Japan also uses Z8 for street I think. Thanks for the tip on Evan!
Thank You Jack Wang!
I expect and hope that you have more than a million subscribers by 2026
Haha whoa big expectations! Will do my best? Thanks for watching!
massive congrats on the milestone.
I like the Zf, adjusting the dials, and shooting manual focus (though they still have to simplify / fix the ISO features)
The Zf is still my go to! It is a wonderful camera
Congrats on 10k subs
Thank you so much for watching this year!
@ same to you and your family. Can’t wait see what in store for 2025, next up 100k subs for you 💪
Hello Jack, I hope you’re well.
@@BokehTherapysir, would you kindly make a part two to this regarding the rolling shutter?
For sure, more long term testing to come. Thanks for the feedback!
Great content...thanks for sharing your thought.
Glad you liked it, I appreciate you watching!
Nikon glass really is amazing - all generations have something to offer. Thanks for watching, happy new year!
@ smart advice. Have you ever shot with the Z5 or Z6II?
Mmm no I haven’t - Z5 is great value, as is a used Z6ii?
The original Z6 is very underrated - people couldn't look past the AF and single card slot I think. Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like a great kit! The Z6iii is great, just not quite the same DNA and design intent as the Z8. Hope you have a great trip!
I’ve used the Z8 for Street since launch.. it’s bun fat the best camera I’ve ever used.. always out with friends and they will miss a shot and I’ll get it
Another Z8 street shooter - great to hear!
Mmm interesting, I'll be testing it more. Thank you for sharing
Wish they would put the Z8 guts in a retro, Zf style body!
Why? Nikon only only has so many resources for design and production.
We need to be moving forward not backwards
@MarcAdesso yes for sure I think the IQ is amazing on the Z7ii. If they put it in a rangefinder body the Fuji fans like me would lose their minds haha
I switched from the LUMIX S5ii to the Z8 and I can't wait until it's shipped
Why?
The S5ii is great! Think it’s pretty similar in size to the Z8? Let me know when it arrives, congrats!
Z6ii is still great, fantastic IQ in small body. I am loving my Z8 so far, thanks for watching!
I think the Z lenses are sharper as well
@@BokehTherapy Thanks. There is so much info. out there it’s hard to know what the best choice might be.
The only way is to starting using it I think - cameras are a very personal choice. Hope you find the right one for you!
Hi Jack.
Identity. That is it. When a camera has one that suits the way you, your needs, and desires...bingo. All done. Have a good start to 2025.
Hi Colin, totally agree. Thanks for watching this year, happy 2025!
Love this channel, you speak my language
Thanks so much Ted - have a great end to the year!
Great job on 10k subs in 1st year.
I started my woodworking channel a year ago and I got just over 500 subscribers.
Hobbies are totally worth our time, woodworking sounds amazing. Thanks for watching along, more to come soon!
If only Z8 had a mechanical shutter...I hate the absence of that sound!
I totally get that, love the mechanical shutter on the Zf! It seems to be the future for stacked sensors to not get that wear and tear, I don’t mind the 5 sounds that Nikon offers (including a beep lol)
I hate my Zf. It is on the market. Picking up Z6III for C cam to go with the Z8 and Z9.
Glad you’ve found the camera workflow that works for you. Thanks for watching!
Like a martial artist can use any weapon when they achieve mastery, likewise a photographer can use any camera.
Haha yup, any camera will do and I’ve almost tried all the modern models. Comes down to what’s more fun!
@@BokehTherapy The most fun and pleasure to use for sure! I tried Zf and Z6iii but for me the om-1mii hits the sweet spot. All these cameras are awesome, just depends on what you like! Love your channel, informative and relaxing, thank you for the effort.
@lsh-zi2lc Oh the OM-1mii is legendary! thanks for watching!
Nikon Df incoming. Nice!
I fell back in love with DSLRs after using it - beautiful experience!
I upgraded from zf and never felt better.
I still have both, best of both worlds for my use case. Thanks for watching!
z5 user here, adore the z8,, im waiting z8 become usd 2000 to get it hehehe
I don’t see how the Z8 isn’t future proof - once the mark 2 comes out you can pick up a used copy of the mark 1 I’m sure. Thanks for watching!
I'm sure Z8 wouldn't be so misunderstood if it were more affordable lol (not overpriced, just cost of living just gets worse and worse)
I say this because I haven't seen one comment about the Z8 that was very negative)
The people saying the Z8 is too big so they got a smaller camera, then added a grip / plate to their smaller camera lol
Haha yep I do wish Nikon would make a rangefinder camera at some point too. Z mount is big though, so ergonomics would be interesting to balance
Yeah people don't get it until they lay their hands on
Totally agree - it’s almost unique in the market place so comparisons seem to be hard to make. Thanks for watching!
