RC Reviews, Racing and Tips absolutely I'll be happy to. That's actually part of the continued series I plan on doing with tires. Balancing, prep, cleaning all this in a few episodes coming in the near future. I appreciate the kind words and support.
Thanks for the tips on gluing RC tires. Just getting ready to glue up some Hoosier tires on Pomona wheels for my drag car and this video was a big help. Subbed 👍
Christopher Rice thank you! I greatly appreciate the comment and positive feedback. I'm happy to hear that some are finding my tutorial helpful and also thank you for the subscribe. Its not a hard job, just take your time and after one set you will have it figured out. Best of luck in your NPRC adventures as well.
rewatching this vid before i glue some up wanted to see if you vented the tire or wheel but looks like you dont im workn my way into oval from off road and we vented off road tires so any suggestions for oval "no venting" ? thx again love your help on things
@jeffquast5162 that's a great question. I didn't really get into any venting specifics because its generally a personal preference. I've talked to many racing friends about this and we each have our own preferences etc. But since you asked I'll give you the method that I usually used. I always glue and mounted my tires first before venting. Then, in a plus sign pattern (at 12, 3, 6 & 9 o'clock positions) as evenly as you could get, I would do 4 holes (Thats one hole per position for a total of 4) and drill straight through the tire foam and wheel. I used 1/8" bit usually.
Yeah your video came along just in time I just bought a Traxxas TRX 4 and I'm a little over my head should have just bought ready to run don't know if I have the resources to finish thanks for listening
James VonLindern I can totally understand where you are coming from. I've been there before too. The kits can be overwhelming especially if its one of your first couple kits. But it also brings really good lessons. Building a full kit helps you get familiar with it and with each new kit or upgrade it gets easier and easier. Hang in there you can do it. I'm glad I was able to upload another video that will be helpful to someone. Best of luck and thank you for the support.
Appreciate it RC Terminator. I hear ya there. I sometimes don't as well. It depends how it sits in the wheels some naturally hold a bead better than others.
Webby, thats a great question! I have ran into that issue before and I have indeed put a wheel or two in the trash before due to this. I've also had to "clean" some up as in do some sanding to correct the issues. However, Before you throw out a wheel, double check your hub area to make sure you dont actually have a bent axle or something damage in that area that could also be of issues. I had that happen before as well.
www.amainhobbies.com/de-racing-speedway-short-course-wheels-black-4-21.5mm-backspace-der-ds4-rb/p705691 I've added a link for you. But keep in mind they sell two offsets as the Slash varies from front to rear. both offset wheels can be purchased from the same store.
Great vid could you do a follow up on what all you use to clean and prep your tires

@@jbtricklerc so true there and most importantly you need a lot of patience’s lol
@@rc.terminator absolutely! 100% lol
mudboss wheels seem to get bent or out of true, do you pick and choose which ones you'll mount tires on?

Dude for rubber band jobs try using old bicycle liner or tube cut to width and length staple that thing into a circle there you go.
5:33 That's the mold release that is applied when the tire is made.
Where can I find these nascar wheels to buy?
