I was so sure the Tuna was the SUV of choice in this segment before I drove the Pajero Sport Exceed back to back with the Fortuner. The choice was simple thereafter, it was either the Exceed or nothing.
Mitsubishi pioneered the 4x4 shift on the fly long before anyone else. The only reason I wouldn’t buy this is the shape of the boot. I can’t use it to fit things I normally pack. The auto box on this is much better than the Triton. It is a cracking car!
This car has the best 4x4 system in its class, very quite ride at cruising speed on the freeway and fuel efficiency is up there with the best in class considering the size of the vehicle. I like that the 4x4 mode can be selected even on sealed surfaces. This car is simple with no unnecessary technology because it is built to last. The suspension is soft tuned for more comfort than handling which is ok considering this car is not a Ferrari. Surprisingly the pajero sport excellent 8 speed auto box is sourced from Toyota owned Aisin, sharing it with the Lexus LX570 and Land Cruiser 5.7L, which are a class above the fortuner. Concerning value for money in the class, theres no better vehicle than the Pajero-Sport. The car has some minor shortcomings though as it could do with a physical volume knob, a more softer steering, standard 360 degree view camera across the range and a push button rear seat folding mechanism. Anyone looking to buy a rugged ladder frame suv should atleast test drive the Pajero-Sport.
Chinese have electric gremlins and rust. Mitsubishi? Bullet proof reputation with Triton and pajero. 10 year warranty. In Australia, great service coverage. Absolutely no comparison.
Love Pajero Sport, had the previous model in a manual version. The thing is very capable. The only downside compared to its rivals is depreciation. Once you buy one of these you better keep it until parts fly. They have really bad reselling value. I lost a lot of money. This might be the main reason people go for the Fortuner. Pity because the Mitsubishi is a great vehicle.
hey Juliet I agree with most of your comments, any one of the five or six competitors you mention are good, there is not a lemon in the bunch as you indicated. However for me the clincher would be that the Pajero Sport can be used on tar with the 4x4 active thanks to its unlockable centre diff, none of the competitors can do this. This same feature is what sets the Triton apart from its competitors in my opinion too. PS I love whating the reviews even though I do have differing opinions insome instances.
@@ryderwilson643 if you're asking how it's high risk, then yes, the Toyota Fortuner is the number 1 most high jacked Sports utility vehicle as outlined by Cartrack, The reason is because the diesel shares the same engine and parts with the Quantum Taxi, so the fortuners are stripped for parts on the illegal market
Hi Juliet. Great review - you obviously enjoyed driving the car - Loved your singing. And don't you just hate those blerry dooses that speed up the minute you start overtaking 😂one of the reasons why I do not like an automatic is that lag when you need to put foot - I'm a manual transmission snob, I like to DRIVE my car, but alas these only come in automatic. Now as this review was done in 2020, what are your views on the latest model ? I will not be transporting children (only my Jack Russel Kids) and very little heavy town/city driving, mainly farm roads, and the odd long trip along the Garden Route, Namibia, Kruger Park and some light off roading (thats my trip to Jbay for grocery shopping 😂), maybe "Die Hell" as a maiden voyage when I get the car.
Idk, I'm just not happy with Mitsubishi lately. Ever since they ruined the Eclipse name by turning it into a budget crossover with poor sales and such, I've just found myself not fully appreciating the brand for what they were anymore. I do LOVE the Triton and especially the Pajero, but the full-size Land Cruiser/Patrol competitor, not this Fortuner/Everest competitor. Mitsubishi has made great cars in the past with an incredible history; I know that the markets today demand for change, but ruining the name of the Eclipse just ruined the brand for me. Great video though, as always! :D

That the main concern damn Toyota's
I think in response to the Everest/Fortuner argument is at least hijacking and theft are much less>>

4X4 system is just advanced, there is absolutely no competition to it in this segment. Just bought the new Exceed so we're super excited.
My uncle have it but more old in 2011 years old type dakar at high type in Mitsubishi Pajero its good impresion👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I like you Juliet, I just bumped to your channel and subscribed. You are the future 😍👌🏾
Great review Juliet, wow its priced really well, I'd also have that over a fortuner because its not as High risk

I loved that Punk one ☝🏻 well done nice review indeed. Well done 👏🏻
Don't indicate then turn immediately. Indicate well in advance!
Glad I got V6 version
Test drived the previous model and it had a flat spot between 2000 and 3000 rpm that it feels that there is no boost at all otherwise awesome vehicle
I'm guessing it's a coincidence that at 4:43 you stopped outside a block flats called Fortuna
Well spotted
Which one do you prefer ? The "normal"/old Pajero or the Pajero/Montero Sport ?

Would like to know more about the tech and specs and def less of the singing... otherwise all good thanks
Will you choose this over Ford Everest?
Are you in Australia? I didnt think we had the sun roof option anymore
690000 price? Nah.
I think this could sell very well in Canada if they brought it over. Everyone is going nuts over 4x4s
Good car,thanks.
You can tell its super roomy Juliet is miles away from the camera..🤣🤣
Yusuf Petersen actually quite tight inside compared to my MuX, but it has its own sportiness and charm to it
@@gb3639 ok maybe just the wide angle camera playing tricks on us folks!!!
is pejero sport coming with sunroof?
Only top of the range exceed comes with sunroof
Happy Holidays Jules.
